I walked into Seelum Thaimassage on a random weekday morning in Mongkok. I was with my family, and we were wandering around, trying to kill time before the Ladies' Market shops started opening at noon. We picked this place without any information other than that it appeared to offer foot massages. I doubt I'd be able to find it again.
The place was small and dim lit, somewhat dingy but not unpleasant. There was plenty of room to sit and relax, and the women working the parlor were polite and welcoming despite language barriers. There weren't any other customers at 11:30 in the morning, and the lady manning the desk seemed surprised to see us roll in seven deep. She got on the phone and called for backup, but they were only able to accommodate two of us at a time.
My brother and I were the lucky ones, and we got twenty-minute foot massages. We changed into dorky stretch waist shorts and dunked our feet into hot water baths. The massages were pleasant and painful, as they're meant to be. My brother and I winced at each other as our feet flexed against the driving pressure of the masseuses' knuckles.
We walked a lot that day, both before and after this stop, and my feet were much happier after the massage. I don't know that you have to seek out this spot of all the massage spots in Mongkok, but I'm glad we stumbled on Seelum when we did. read more
