We are in the process of a pretty big remodel and was happy to walk through the doors. The receptionist was pleasant, greeted us, and asked how she could help. We told her we were looking for design ideas for tiling our new fireplace. She sent Chanelle to meet us in the tile area. We really enjoyed our time with Utah Design Center. Chanelle showed us some awesome tile and advised we visit DalTile and Esmer for samples. While at the Utah Design Center, we also got excited about lighting because of the various displays about the store. We asked Chanelle about various lighting options. We also asked Chanelle if the Utah Design Center offers general design consultancy. She said yes, they offer by-the-hour consultancy services - very cool! When we got home, we talked about the myriad of options and decided we really do want professional assistance to help establish a cohesive vision across textures, colors, shapes, designs, etc. So, I called the Utah Design Center, spoke with the receptionist, and asked for Chanelle. I left a voice message. A couple days later, I hadn't heard anything, so called again. I spoke with the receptionist, asked for Chanelle, and left a voice message. We never received a return phone call. I don't mind calling a second time when my first call is not returned, but there will not be a third. I have to say, there is no excuse to not return phone calls, let alone two. I mean, isn't this where it all starts? We've had a few different ladies come, but I am always very impressed at their level of detail with the basic house cleaning. It is honestly the BEST day when I know they are coming -- I wake up so excited knowing that in a few hours my home will be gorgeous! I am happy to say that I am absolutely spoiled by this service…read more I procrastinate household tasks, errands, product returns, small household repairs and maintenance of home & car because I work full time. It is so refreshing to be able to check things off my to do list, thanks to this service. I have missed mail order product return deadlines, failed to file insurance claims on time and never bothered to return unused items to Home Depot just because I'm too busy & stressed. AJ is getting all of that taken care of for me. The next jobs I will ask for her help on are: Change water filter in fridge Change furnace filters Replace batteries in a number of items around the house Do some internet research on a property tax issue I haven't had time to complete Return a coat that is the wrong size Take a big bulky bed spread to the cleaners Replace all of the burned out light bulbs around the house with energy efficient bulbs Return some borrowed items Submit claims to insurance for reimbursement Write a couple of business letters for me to sign & get them mailed Figure out which State agency I need to call to resolve a business question Pick up & install a shower head downstairs like the one she installed upstairs Find a place that can repair a chair that has been broken for 10 years and get it repaired In the spring I plan to get her help putting drip irrigation in to my patio planters - I have not fully succeeded after two years of trying Do research on solar providers and tax incentives & arrange for bids if it seems worth it after the research Help me obtain the paperwork and complete it for a guardianship role I am helping a family member with I will spread this work out over time, but I am really looking forward to getting these things taken care of. It will reduce my stress and make my home easier to manage and maintain. So far AJ has helped me in my home for 6 full days. I think I could put her to work one day per week or at least one day every two weeks for the next few months until I get my projects all caught up & then I can use her periodically for seasonal maintenance around the house & projects as they come up.
