Their staff is so friendly and will go out of the way to help you. The rooms are a cross between modern and antique with beautiful chandeliers, gorgeous old sinks and other furnishings with all the modern conveniences. The bed was perfect for sleeping and I am picky! It's beautiful waking up to the lake out your window! They offer expresso, tea, snacks, and wine as amenities along with bikes and a wealth of knowledge about sites to be seen in and around Switzerland. And did I mention their complimentary breakfast and amazing dinners! I can't say enough! Breakfast has everything from fresh bread to cured meat, cheeses, fresh fruit, homemade jams and other goodies daily. You have to make reservations for dinner as Dani is the only chef in a small but highly efficient kitchen...drinks start at 6:30 sharp and they offer samples of their meats and cheese. Dinner is three to four courses...on the night we ate there we had chanterelle mushroom soup, smoked salmon, mushroom ravioli(the best I've ever had!!!! Seriously!!) and over the top melt in your mouth vension(local)!!!! Best meal I had in Europe-hands down!!! And that's saying a lot as I love food. If your in Switzerland and and in the Lucerne area this is worth a couple nights stay with dinner...it's only 30 minutes from Lucerne in the mountains with a tram near by with excellent hiking from a small jaunt to 3 to 4 hours hikes...and all the lake activities within walking distance!!! The service staff are very friendly and helpful. We walked there on a quiet Sunday afternoon, the hotel staff could refuse to service us as there were no other customer dining on the terrace. However, they treated us very nicely and make us feel we want to walk there every other week. The view is amazing, in comparison to hotel Villa Honegg, I feel much more relaxed at the Seeblick with the panoramic view, especially the driveway is less pressured, and of course the staff is much more approachable.

But good. I was only here one night during a tour, but I really enjoyed my stay. Everyone working at the hotel was very nice, and accommodating. My only complaint is that it is on the side of the road, and you can hear and see cars speeding by. The main attractions are a short drive away as well. Would definitely stay here again!

The staff in the kitchen seemed really unorganized...they could not even tell us who we needed to pay for our dinner (?)....minus 2 stars. The worst thing about our stay was that it was winter (lots of snow) and the heater in our room was broken during our stay...minus 3 stars. You would think the heat would be the biggest issue, but actually nothing will take away the memory of that really bad dinner...it was really bad...not edible at all, one of the worst in all of the counties I have visited.

From the moment of booking, the team at Honegg was already very accommodating. We reached out for various questions in the weeks leading up to our stay and they promptly responded each time. Before even arriving, they booked us for massages at the spa and dinner reservations for the first night, as well as helped us coordinate our transportation and arranged for a driver to pick us up at the bus stop. When we arrived, they took care of our luggage and gave us a tour of the house so we knew where to find everything during our stay. After the tour, we were taken to our room, where we were met with a stocked mini bar and snacks, and a great meat and cheese tray our travel agent coordinated for us. The hotel also had a hand-written note to welcome us! After settling in, we went to the spa to relax before our massages and immediately fell in love with the gorgeous views from the infinity pool. There are definitely moments the pool gets crowded with people taking photos or videos (can't blame them- we did too! It's too gorgeous not to). But we had many times when we had the entire pool to ourselves to really enjoy it. We both had wonderful massages in their spa! Onto the food- dinner was incredible. They brought us a note of congratulations for our recent marriage- signed by the staff at the restaurant. We were given an amuse-Bouche to start. I had the 6-course Honegg Gourmet menu with corresponding wines. Everything was good, but the cream of corn soup was absolutely delicious! I wish I had the recipe. My husband enjoyed every bit of his meal, too. And please do NOT miss the Honegg cream slice! Maybe it was the wine, but I teared up eating this because it was SO good. We even ordered a slice for a late night bite the next evening. Breakfast was also fantastic! They always started with a nice meat, cheese, and fruit tray. Then you could order what you wanted from their breakfast menu- all included in the room rate. I loved the Egg Honegg! We also chose to get their picnic basket and hiked over to the Hammetschwand Lift to enjoy the lunch they packed for us. I truly cannot say enough about how wonderful this mountain oasis is. The rooms were well appointed but I wish they had been a little more cozy and a little less corporate. At breakfast the first morning, my friend and I both ordered the overnight oats. When the dish came we both assumed it was an amuse bouche because the portion size was hilariously small. Like shot glass size. I still giggle when I think about it. It turns out that all the breakfast portions are small because you can order an unlimited amount of dishes and they don't like food waste. While I can certainly appreciate that, it would have been nice if our server had explained that when we placed our order. We were better prepared the next morning. The food overall in Switzerland was just not my favorite. It was good but under seasoned for my taste. My favorite dishes at dinner were probably the carrot coconut soup and the summer salad. The large pool at Villa Honegg is certainly the star of the show. It's heated and open until 11pm and we spent as much time there as we could. The one downside about this hotel is that it is a 20-30 minute drive into down for any activities or reservations at other hotels. It is worth it for the view but know that you need to make plans well in advance for offsite activities.
