I've been having a crystal obsession lately and like to pay visits to crystal stores. Rock Candy is…read moreon a league of its own with their assortment and quality. I could easily spend hours in the store admiring their selection of crystals and jewelry. They come in various sizes and I was amazed how big some of their beaded bracelets come. The associate was super friendly and knowledgeable. I found their prices reasonable as well for their offerings. My partner selected two items and I was having a hard time picking so definitely want to go back when I have more time. Located in South Shore Market at Ward Village, parking is easy. I'll post pictures when I pick something.

Yelp Review for [Shop Name Redacted for the Protection of Your Inner Child]…read more I really wanted to love this shop -- the aesthetic is charming, the layout is inviting, and the energy? Impeccable... until you actually start looking at the stones. I came in as a lifelong crystal lover with a solid understanding of mineral identification -- not just vibes, but geology. Unfortunately, what I found here felt more like a fantasy fanfic of the crystal world than a legitimate metaphysical experience. Examples? Let's start with: * "Purple Rose Quartz" -- a lovely name for a fanfic character, but not a real mineral. This was most likely Lepidolite or purple chalcedony. * A mix of pink opal, mangano calcite, and carnelian all sold as the same stone. * Labels that sound poetic but have zero grounding in mineralogy ("supports vision, balance, and reproductive organs"? Okay, doctor.) I'm all for intuitive connections and playful magic, but when you're selling crystals -- especially to people seeking emotional or spiritual healing -- accuracy matters. If you're going to charge (exceedingly high) premium prices, please do your research and label your stones responsibly. Your customers deserve more than just aesthetic vibes and stickered price tags. That said, if you're brand new to crystals and want a pretty souvenir, you might love it here. But if you know your rhodonite from your rose quartz, bring a loupe and your sense of humor. One star for vibes, three for the décor. Final score: 2.5/5 -- "Would return only to identify the mislabeled specimens for sport and if I get a giant tax return."

Even if I could prove that the product is counterfeit, they would not give a refund and would only allow an exchange. I had to go through a stressful exchange with my credit card company of having to dispute a credit card purchase for the first time. This place is generally great if you are a jewelry maker. They have a great selection of crystal beads and genuine freshwater pearls. However, the guy tried to convince me a $600 string of greyish-bluish pearls are genuine "Tahitian pearls" and even the tag says "Sourh Sea Pearls." I made the mistake of not rubbing the pearls before I purchased. Generally, genuine pearls have a slightly gritty feel, and never completely smooth, when rubbed together or when rubbed against your teeth. So when I rubbed it after I purchased, I walked back to the store about 10 minutes later asking for authentication for the pearls and was told there was none. The guy has a language barrier so he took me to the lady next door who also tried to convince me the pearls are genuine even when I told her the pearls are rubbing smoothly. Also -- even if this purchase wasn't such a huge flop, I've been to this store a couple times before I purchased anything. The guy was on his phone the whole time which made a couple of sounds that iPhones make when you take a photo or take a screenshot, so I felt suspicious that he was taking photos of me maybe because he suspected that I'd steal. He was generally disinterested in having to service me.

Shopping in Honolulu's Chinatown…read more.. My friend, Jules, and I were strolling around Chinatown, when we took a detour and stopped inside of a shop called A1 Trading. Even though the door was open, I could feel some air conditioning! (Even though it's "winter", February is still warm in Hawaii at noontime)! The wall to the left was filled with all kinds of bracelets, lucky jade charms and keyrings! I got some good luck (red with a Chinese coin) bracelets that were 4 for $10 - for when I go to Las Vegas with my mom and sister. I also found a cute Hello Kitty key chain that I can give as a nice gift some day! Jules was looking at the jade bangles. They were different prices according to quality. They were offering her a discount on something that fit. However, she wanted a different bracelet that was larger and had a darker color. Maybe she will ho back after she thinks about it more... Anyway, the service was friendly and helpful. The shop had some nice items that I would get later. Now I know where to shop! Note: we went on a Sunday when metered street parking is free!

I've been into the store a couple times and I actually purchased a beautiful necklace, every time I've been in there the sales people are lovely very informative. The store is very clean and organized. They have a beautiful selection of crystals, jewelry, and singing bowls. My only suggestion is that they acquire some paper bags for the products that you're purchasing, when I purchased a necklace, they asked me if I wanted a bag, but it was actually a little cloth bag and I believe it was like three dollars which isn't that much but I was only taking it up to my room and thought it was silly to just pay for a little bag that I wasn't going use again. Especially if the necklace is over $100 , a little bag would've been nice.

The clerk as telling several customers about the geology of Hawaii, which was interesting so I listened in. The shop is locally owned and the owners promote crystal based healing but also have an appreciation for local geology. The shop carries assorted rock, crystals and cut gem stones from around the world. I saw a lot of different agates, obsidian, epidote and jasper to name a few. There were beautiful stones such as Larimar cut cabochons that were set in silver and displayed in cases. The were fabulous quarts crystals and several amethyst cathedrals. Prices were high, I thought, but this is the only place I've seen collectible rocks on the island. The shop is neat and well organized. There is a nearby parking garage, but you're most likely going to pay for parking since this location is in Waikiki. They will also ship your purchases and offer online sales. If you're into rocks or just want to pick up a hand crafted piece of jewelry, this is a fun little shop to visit.

I…read morethought to myself "any business that was JUST OPENED during this crazy time has got to be the craziest, (can I say) ballsiest move I've ever seen; that's just asking for failure right?" I figured, there's nothing wrong with checking it out since my husband and I are always looking to add to our collection of self-defense items. Ever since my husband and I made our first visit in 2020, we have been consistent customers because, yes the products, but take some time to talk to Sal and you'll realize the business is run by an honest, educated owner who knows what he's doing in this niche industry. He's also been endorsed by many people in the industry for doing what he does, just look at the patches he has displayed on his case. Just recently, Hawaii has legalized a lot of open-carry laws so business for this place exponentially picked up; well-deserved in my opinion. You'll want to stop by as soon as possible if you're looking for a certain product so you can get your hands on it or get your name on the will-call list. Or check in with Sal or his other workers when the next shipment comes in and drop by ASAP to catch the drop and have the most options available. Let me tell you, we were ready for when his next shipment of a certain product would come in. Sal said Saturday, but they came in two days earlier. By the time Saturday rolled around, SOLD OUT. My suggestion: follow them on instagram/facebook and track as best as you can because you do not want to wait till the weekend. Overall, great business, great owner, great workers, great prices, great environment.

With a lot of turmoil going on with my life and I've been getting into crystal healing lately, I…read morebought crystals from another store and really liked the healing benefits it gives me. That crystal store I went to had bracelets but it was already premade which I felt in my soul that it wasn't for me. Im looking for something that caters to my energy so I can wear a bracelet that gives me that sense of relief when I go about my everyday life. I happen to stumble upon Honulea Hawaii on Yelp and was reading their reviews and also on their website. When entering their website, it will be in Japanese so select the English translation. There is also a 5% off for your first purchase when you sign up for their email newsletter so take advantage of that while its still there because I forgot to do that since I was too excited and focused to get my bracelet haha. In their options, there are 4 types of bracelets you can choose from Hoō la breath, Mauli Ola Breath, Lono breath, and Premium Lono Breath (Prices are listed on their website). Just giving you a heads up, Hoō la breath is the only bracelet that is premade and can't be customized according to the website you can only choose from 5 different premade options. But I highly recommend to get the Mauli Ola Breath or the others since you're able to customize them according to your personal energy and situation. They go by appointment only so I recommend calling in rather than messaging because I tried to message them on their Linechat, I didnt get a response till 3 weeks later after my appointment haha. You can also check out their Instagram @honuleahawaii to see their other creations and family life. Appointment day comes, I go to the location and the door will be locked so call their number when you arrive. The owner (Mia) of the shop is located in the same room with her husband (Michael)'s violin store and they share the same store number so Michael will also take your phone calls. I was greeted warmly by Michael and he showed me where Mia is located in the store. Its a small closet like room with one small display of her creations and custom made bracelets, necklaces, pendants, and keychains that customers ordered. With using my 6th sense I could feel Mia's energy so bright and warm when entering the room, I can feel my soul is being hugged from her warmness. We sat down and did the 15 minutes counseling so she can feel out my energy and situation. When the session was done, I chose the Mauli Ola Breath bracelet option, the price maybe hefty but when you think about it, you are investing for your body and soul. For my bracelet she chose a Clear quartz, Labradorite, Amethyst, and Mother of pearl (search up their healing benefits) also added a cute turtle charm to complete the look. When I wore my bracelet, it gave me that sense of comfort and relief that I was looking for but not only has my mood swings changed but it also helped protect me from people who tried to take advantage of my kindness or give me emotional harm, and gave me life lessons that I need. Nowadays, if I leave my bracelet at home, it just feels like my energy will be thrown off for the whole day and feels weird to not be wearing it wherever I go. Thank you so much Mia for my customized Mauli Ola Breath bracelet! Been wearing it everyday for 9 months straight and been seeing different positive changes in my life! 5/5 recommend everyone to get one! Tip: Bracelet power stone care, leave it out in the sun for at least an hour or during the full moon every once a month to recharge its energy.

Finding the building was fine with the map directions. The parking seems to be assigned so the attendant helped direct me to a spot when I told him where I was headed. Within the building it was a bit confusing knowing if I was at the right spot only because there isn't any signage outside of the shop door. So basically, the shop you'll enter is a violin shop but you're in the right place! I called ahead to make an appointment so they were expecting me. I got a nice welcoming vibe right off the bat and was excited to see what would be created for me and my lifestyle needs. I have never purchased a bracelet before, so this was my first experience, period. I told her what was going on and why I was "searching". She definitely pinpontied what I needed to focus on and helped create a bracelet that would help keep me focused. Not only is it created for my particular needs, but it's very aesthetically pleasing! It can pretty much go with anything I wear and doesn't get in the way at all. I was surprised at the cost, but that's only because I don't normally purchase stones/beads. The quality is great and it is well worth the purchase! I feel like its been helping me focus and protecting me from being affected by outside energy. I'm definitely prepared for my next purchase and I won't have to be worried about the cost... it's really reasonable.
