First and foremost after this disappointing experience. 1-Make sure the roofer gets on your roof…read moreto get a quote. 2-Get at least 2 bids and make sure the bid is for the same shingles etc. 3-Make sure everything is documented instead of verbal, reason why when I was at the back of my home I had asked Jason about the short stacks to be painted? He pointed to my neighbors home which was replaced with PVC instead. Which never was done. He denied saying this after the job was done. They have blocked me on one of the popular social media apps since they did not meet my fair request. I had known the previous owners for two+ decades. Longer as per my Dad knew the original founder, father of the Son and Daughter in-law. They had sold to new owners as of 11/2024. Called to get an estimate. Jason whom is known as having 30 years of experience did not even get on my roof to measure. I had put my trust in the new owners they will meet the original owners expectations. Once they were done, I noticed the Ridge Roof Vent from the ground was guesstimate 8-10' short. Previously done was from edge to edge. I had asked Jason about it as he kept coming back with unacceptable/defensive responses. This is how they do it. Incorrect, every home I saw after this were done properly. I had to get in contact with one of the previous owners as she even told Jason that is incorrect. Even reputable shingle companies website shows this. When I called the City of Moline Builders inspector to have it inspected due to as you will see in the pics of too many red flags exposed. The Building inspector after giving him my address mentioned they never pulled a Builders Permit. Cannot inspect till the new owners of Crew Roofing come and pull a permit. It is a must to have this posted on the customers front door the day of, or day before. Latest outcome, it did not pass code as they did not follow code for the "Water and Ice" a must a minimum of Two Layers. They only put on One Layer. One of the owners is apparently a silent partner, when I messaged him the pics his exact response was "I did not find the pictures overly persuasive".
