One of the new kids on the block in the Leeds night scene. It already has quite a small devoted crowd from the local hip-hop scene. Sedgwick Avenue play classic, recent and new hip-hop music and also music from genres such as reggae, soul, disco and funk. Everything you would expect at a B-Boy jam to be honest!
It's a pretty small place, but that's the whole appeal. The drinks can be pricey, but most of the drinks served aren't your typical Budweiser and Carlsberg so they get let off a bit on that one. This really isn't the sort of place you buy tons of drinks at anyway. If you're expecting Tiger Tiger or Oceana then you will be disapointed. Treat this as a getaway from the hustle and bustle and general madness of the main strip. It's the perfect place to chill out, drink and talk to friends. They even have an old school Space Invaders Arcade machine in there. Me and my mates went in here not long ago and even though the place was dead we enjoyed ourselves. The bar staff are also very welcoming and professional too.
If you're into hip-hop as well they seem to have some big name UK and US hip-hop artists perform there on a daily basis too.
Reccomended. The type of experience you have really depends what event is on in there.
The cocktails really are nice and worth the money by the way! read more
