I attempted to schedule a tour through their website and it wasn't working. I couldn't click on any of the icons to find more dates or times. That is not their fault! Websites crash all the time. I decided to give them a call to try to get a tour scheduled. I wish I could remember the name of the employee that answered the phone because she was AWFUL. She answers the phone and gives the usual "Thank you for calling Maddox Management..." So I give her my name and give her the run down of the website not working and what street the listing I was interested was on. She cuts me off to say in the rudest tone, "You're gonna have to be more specific than that." In fact there was multiple times that as I was explaining the issue she cuts me off saying "Our website is working perfectly fine!" and "It probably means there was no times available for the day you're looking at!" After a couple times of her doing that and me saying "Well no, it wouldn't let me click on anything but that's why I thought it'd be easier to call," she finally asks me when I would like to set up the tour. I ask if they have any availability tomorrow or Sunday and I begin to say, "I'm not sure if you are available on the weekend and I know Sunday is Easter-" before she cuts me off again and says, "Well that's why the website wasn't working! We do tours Monday through Friday!" and I tell her that the website wouldn't even let me click the icon for more available dates. She continues speaking incredibly rude and outrageously unprofessionally towards me and I was so upset that I had to end the phone call. I truly wish I could leave an audio recording to explain how rude and unprofessionally she was speaking towards me. It was abhorrent. I shouldn't have hung up on her while she was still talking but I couldn't believe what I had just experienced. I would never dream of renting from a company who allows that kind of customer "service." Every other rental management place I've talked to or worked with has been wonderful when it comes to customer service. Ignoring the fact that all of the other reviews are just as bad if not worse than my experience, do not rent from this company. And Maddox Management, you need to either train your staff better or hire better people. You should be ashamed of the way you allow your company to be run and how your company shows up for your customers.

I happened to be at a neighbors when the cleaning crew came in after I left, they were there for maybe 15 minutes and I was 'charged' for two full days. He even tried to charge me for extra cleaning over my deposit (I was there for five months) but acted like he was being gracious by accepting my deposit as a fair claim. That neighbor said the new tenants moved in the day after the cleaners showed up for 15 minutes, it was impossible. Horrific landlord. Okay with getting basic repairs done but expect to have little to no notice and for him to complain about any and every thing he takes offense to. He threatened to evict me because he showed up, unannounced, while I had a friend over. I stepped out for maybe five minutes to get my mail downstairs and found him berating my friend when I returned. He has a terrible reputation for a reason. Units are cheap for a reason. He has dozens of properties (when he handed me the key it was pulled from a cartoonishly large door filled to the brim). It looks like he finally closed up shop but just in case - avoid like the plague unless you're absolutely desperate.

When paying rent at their office they would not even give a receipt until I demanded one. Afterwards, on multiple occasions, they seemed like it was such a inconvenience having to write a receipt. They never do inspections on there properties either. Not one in the entire time I lived there. As for repairs, they take forever, so much so that the maintenance man just gave me his cell number so I can get things fixed in a timely matter. They never fixed the fences that i reported multiple times. So the dog kept getting out and finally was picked up by the pound. Upon move out, I had the house and garage professionally cleaned yet they said the property was filthy and charged me for cleaning. If you are looking to use them for rent be careful and document everything! If your thinking about using them to manage a property of yours, I stress that they will not inspect or care about the land.
