His methods were excellent as far as pain management and the quality of work was excellent. The staff was fast and courteous and I was always in a chair almost immediately. I called about my bill as we were sent there by our dentist who retired unexpectedly. My husband had already had an evaluation and his X-rays sent with his appointment. I was told by the receptionist that they wouldn't be charging an exam fee. Which clearly they did. Then when my husband checked in the girl said his card wasn't his dental card. Our Aetna commercial plan has both medical and dental on the card in the top right, so that was a red flag they can't even read an insurance card. Then when he goes to check out they charged him $152.03 for 1 cavity! Our insurance plan covers 80%. That seemed steep so I called and Brandy starts saying we're out of network and our insurance will only pay so much etc etc. I explained our insurance pays the same coverage regardless of in or out of network but we pay the cost overage if they charge more than the recognize amount but still $150 seemed a lot and asked where she got her numbers. She starts treating me like an imbecile and saying " nobody forced you to come here" and acting like I had no idea what I was talking about. I again told her I understood were out of network I wanted an explanation about how they were getting the numbers she was claiming my insurance would pay. She got huffy and snotty and said " we have a book with all the insurance and we use estimates" I'm like well that's a low estimate and you charged us too much! And asked why I was billed for another exam when I was told we wouldn't be charged. She kept getting hateful so I told her to go duck herself. Then when my insurance adjuster called to find out why they charged a fee for an exam when they had info from the previous provider just two weeks before she said " I was going to write it off but she spoke to me in a tone I didn't appreciate so now I'm not going to" real professional Brandy. I'll take my business elsewhere. A real shame because my husband and son said Dr Peterson was very nice. I did call my insurance company and as you see they will be paying twice as much as she "estimated" so they owe me a huge refund. Per my insurance I should have only been charged $67 out of pocket. That includes the overage for their above average costs. Be weary of this dentist and what they are charging!!!
