I booked a haircut for Thursday 5pm with Raven as my stylist. I have an undercut and bangs and needed a quick touch up, as I don't often get my hair done professionally at all. After discovering this salon at their SacAnime booth, I thought that it would be worth a shot since I am new to the area, they seemed to be Neurodiverse friendly, and I have a special occasion tomorrow. First of all, the stylists do not seem to be very communicative about their appointments. I booked with Raven, and my request went completely ignored for the 36 hours leading up to my appointment. I left specific notes and my contact information for the stylist, but received 0 communication to confirm my appointment up. It's important to note that Sector7 does not answer their phone. The owner notified me that they do not have a receptionist, however, I tried calling the salon six times within a 45 minute period and I got 0 response each time and 0 calls back. No open line of communication whatsoever. Because their deposit policies were so strict online, I figured I should show up as my appointment was never officially declined. Once again, 0 communication. I arrived early to my appointment - right off the bat I find out that my stylist is not there at the moment and that she will likely arrive at 5. that's fine, I can wait. But it wasn't until about 25 minutes in that I learned that my stylist never actually accepted my appointment into the system because she does not work with clippers. ... I was pretty shocked because on the stylist's instagram, one of the most recent photos is of a client with a fresh undercut. This was not communicated to me at any point from the time leading up to when I booked my appointment til that point. I had already been waiting at the salon, and was then told by the owner that unfortunately I would not be able to book for any point during that day, even though they were open for 3 more hours and the touch up I need was in no way a time consuming process. I felt pretty defeated at that point so I accepted the loss and decided to leave. The owner apologized and mentioned to me that the stylist I booked with is new and still learning, and she offered me a free haircut should I decide to rebook with them. While I appreciate the offer for a free haircut, I am not sure that I will take it moving forward because there is no guarantee that this salon will accommodate to alternative haircuts despite their branding and/or communicate their availability. It is a shame - I'm pretty disappointed with the service I received and also the service that I ultimately *didn't* receive. It's hard to find a salon that is neurodiverse friendly AND alt-style friendly, so this was really a gut punch. For anyone considering this place, especially those with goth/ alternative haircuts - I would absolutely not recommend booking a service here. Please be advised that they do also have a very strict deposit/cancellation fee, and require your credit card information upon booking. read more

This review is for Eliza. I went to her for a cut and color. She is very kind and down to earth and did great color. She made sure through text that she was clear on what I wanted and is very thorough. However, I have very long layered hair and was completely unsatisfied with my haircut. I don't think layering hair is her strong suit. She was able to make my hair look blended by doing a blowout to cover the choppiness. So I approved her work and went home. A few days later when I washed and straightened my hair I could see how unblended, uneven and choppy it looked. I messaged her and sent a photo of my hair requesting a refund for only the haircut portion. We went back and forth and she refused. But she did offer to fix it, but no thank you. Now I have to pay another $60 at least to have this mess fixed and I will probably have to take off length to make it look normal again. I'm so upset. Beware. read more

This was my first time here, I came to get a regular cut & style from Eliza. The salon itself is open, with super fun decor, and the vibe was welcoming and friendly. I'm awful at knowing what to ask for, but Eliza was able to patiently get the information needed to give me a cut I love! Located in a residential area off the boulevard with plenty of street parking. You Ring doorbell to be let in. My appointment was with Michael Cano, who greeted me at the door and lead me to the salon which was like walking through the wardrobe door to space Narnia! Very big open space. Each chair had a mirror of a different fandom. Star Wars, Star Trek etc. I was sat at the Tardis from Dr. Who. The shampoo bowls had their own rooms which were very relaxing. One of the shampoo bowl rooms was galaxy themed with dim lights and twinkly stars like you're getting your hair washed under the stars. I just had a phenomenal experience at sector7salon. The conversation flowed easily. And you really don't have to be a nerd to appreciate this salon and get an excellent service. all are welcome it's truly inclusive and I felt so welcomed and safe. Having heard about this salon on Reddit, I poked around their super fun website and decided to book. I was paired up with Kirstin and from start to finish my experience was nothing less than perfection! I went in wanting a cut and a vivid color transformation. I'm talking rainbows! Little did I know an awful box of home hair dye I had used a year ago would still haunt me and my color choices. This is not your typical salon. This larger-than-typical space is a Comic-Con style experience, with Star Wars and comic book memorabilia, Lego sculptures and flat-screen TVs playing shows like Star Trek Next Gen, Mystery Science Theater 3000, and Bob Ross. Each stylist station includes a mirror shaped like a spaceship. Everyone on staff is super friendly and takes great care of their clients. Kirstin is my go-to stylist, specializing in vivid colors and balayages, but is also a super craftsperson with my highlights. She actively listens to my input and provides her expert advice when I'm undecided on whether a change will achieve an expected outcome. And when I've felt adventurous, she's obliged with a "paint dip" of purple, just for fun! She is also diligent about using gentle and cruelty-free products, which in my book is A+. Sheilah, the owner, has done an incredible job building this salon from the ground up, with personality and flair like no other. Be aware that Cierra will falsify booking an appointment for you, gaslight you and charge you $160 for not consenting to the appointment. My first yellow flag should have been, why am I filling out a consent form for a hair appointment? Now I know. They will use the consent form against you to falsify future appointments. I had to go through a whole dispute with my bank, cancel my card, update my other subscriptions to a new card, hours of personal time lost for a dishonest crook. I just wish people were honest, but this is the world we live in. Cierra may charm you with beer and snacks, but alas, be aware they are a liar and will take your money without permission. Must be nice to have a paid day off on the expense of your clients. Hope it was worth it. Save yourself a hassle, it's not worth it. Life is too short. read more

I drive over 3 hours from Lemoore to have her do my hair because of the consistent quality and professionalism I experience every time. Listen, I love this place. The theme of the salon is "geek chic" and it's so cute. The actual size is very big and it doesn't feel tight or overcrowded with stations/stylists. It's a clean environment and they follow Covid-19 guidelines well. I've been getting my hair done there since July and each time I love the way it comes out! Ive seen the same stylist, Lizzie, she does an amazing job on my thick long hair. She's really thorough and a joy to be around. The salon uses Seven 7 brand of hair care that smells so good and makes my hair really soft. The prices of cut and color are moderate and really comparable. My only complaint is the area of town isn't the most friendly, but there's always free easy parking. Once inside you don't even remember that and not just anyone can come in, it feels safe. I really like Sector 7 it deserves a lot of praise for being a hidden gem of Sacramento salons. read more
