Been going here for years, and service has been wildly inconsistent, but maybe that's the norm with dealerships, even one as well equipped as this one. Routine maintenance has been fast and efficient, even including a car wash. A recent visit for a bearing issue, while initially met with polite skepticism, was handled quickly and without any issues with my extended warrantee. Then came my GPS issues where the unit would intermittently lose its location: four visits later, and requiring me to needlessly update the map database, they finally did replace the unit, but then didn't update the map. (which, on this model/year subaru, is a real pain at best). So aggravating as this may have been, they do stand by their work, and routinely do a fairly thorough inspection without trying to upsell any unnecessary work. I will certainly continue to use them for all warrantee work. read more

DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE!!!!! Bought a used car that I assume was a trade in. Because it wasn't a Subaru. Sales person told me they JUST got it. So I assume they didn't do their due diligence. Especially when service department and sales keep telling me they don't have the equipment to properly check if my car is working.BECAUSE THEY ARE SUBARU NOT HONDA. So how could they know they didn't sell me a car with Transmission ISSUES! I brought my car in within the 60 day warranty they give you. Simply because the car would shudder in a low gear. Service department told me all they could do was preform a transmission fluid service. Because again they are Subaru NOT HONDA. The shuddering went away but only to find out 6 months later... The torque converter was toast and wiped out my transmission. Now they're bouncing me back and forth from the service to sales department. Not wanting to deal with me and blaming the other department. read more

I had an appointment early today for 8am. My car was not a textbook easy concern. It had some noise coming from the tire and I could hear it but you couldn't with the windows closed. Do the appointment take a while? Yes. But honestly it's because they put their all into looking into my car. After not being able to replicate the issue they looked into every noon and cranny under my car - the brakes, axle, you name it. I went to leave and heard it again so I went back. After putting the windows closed down they could hear the soft chirp coming from the wheel. It ended up being something simple, but really they were so kind and professional every step of the way. As a woman, you don't usually get such kind, patient, and humble people in the mechanic world. I really appreciate they put their all into it, and I definitely plan on bringing my car again. Sometimes you see the real magic in people when a little blip pops up instead of things going perfect. I really appreciate how great the whole group was start to finish. Also seeing how well they all work together and communicate was really pleasant to watch. Great group of people. read more

I called to possibly get a my car in the shop for a bad starter. I'm down here for 2 month for work and need my car. I was told loaners aren't allowed on weekends? I'm not sure what policy this is but every other SUBARU dealership I've been too has provided a loaner over the weekend. Just be careful bringing your car here. If they aren't willing to help someone in a jam, how can you trust them to do the work and do it right. Update: I immediately drove to Valenti Subaru after talki by to Secor. The service department had just closed and the service rep had already clocked out but STILL helped me and provided me with a loaner for the weekend. He took time out of his day to help me out when Secor did not. Just drive to Valenti. Stay away from Secor. read more

I've been a Secor customer for years - my entire family drives Subaru's. The past two years, I have been so disappointed in Secor's customer service and performance. No one answers the phone in the service department, the service desk employees are completely incompetent and they are all so scripted! Everything is so corporate now - not like it used to be! I wouldn't recommend the service department of this dealerships. We made an appointment for 10 am, dropped the car at 9:30 am and repairs duration were scheduled for one hour maximum. When we came back 3 hours later our car was not in the bay yet and the service person told us not to expect repair done until late afternoon since we brought it so late ! Second time around, they promise us a courtesy car as they were going to keep our car for two days. When we showed up at the schedule time they said they ran out of courtesy car. Also the staff rotation is astonishing. I lost confidence in this place. Quite a shame as they are not many Subaru dealerships in the region. read more

I can't believe how this dealership treated us after our "first hello". Our sales guy, Pete, was new and pleasant. My husband and I liked how responsive he was to questions even after we left the dealership. The GM Paul, I thought was ok in the beginning, promising us top dollar for our Subaru trade. This was the first of 4 dealerships we actually went to and had our first test drive. Of course, in order to get the actual figures, they had to run our credits. We also were very transparent with them, letting them know we are shopping and are not ready to make any deals that same day. Our lease will be up in a month and we're not looking to waste time either. Paul told us that shopping won't do much, a few dollars difference will be all the difference we could get as our credit scores were not stellar. That's fine, it was still our prerogative to shop around so thanks for your input. He ran our scores and told us what tier we were in and how much we were looking at for our new lease's monthly. We went to the other dealerships and Pete followed up with us so we told him we were looking to move forward elsewhere. To cut the long story short, we went back and forth with them, as we did with the others who were trying to get our business and beat the competitor. Secor was able to finally beat the best offer, or so we thought. An hour before we were to sign and days after they took our down payment/ deposit to hold the vehicle, I got a call from Pete as I was driving to meet my husband at the dealership that it turns out we were looking to be $30 over in the monthly payment they had initially quoted and sent us paperwork for. I was livid but knew it wasn't his fault so I asked to speak with the finance guy, Kevin, for this big error and was transferred to Paul. After we said our hi's, Paul proceeded to subliminally insult me by saying "well apparently" our credit scores were not over 700 as they were made to believe and we did not meet the criteria for the monthly payment they had quoted us. I was beside myself as I could not even get a word in. Finally, after numerous failed attempts to stop this crazy man from berating us even more, I asked if he was done and if I could speak -- "go ahead", he said. I then told him, 1. never did we misrepresent ourselves of having a higher score than we did. We were not looking to waste any time and needed exact figures to make our educated decision, 2. They ran our scores the first time we ever saw them and that's how I knew what tier we belonged to (he denied they ever ran our credits before that day. Then how/ why the h*ll were they haggling with us in the first place if they knew nothing about our finances?) 3. I said he must be confusing us with a different couple because when we sat in his office the first day and filled out the paper app, he knew what our scores were and said we should be fine, just not where we might want to be (he denies ever meeting us in his office or filling out an app. That was the only app we ever filled and signed, so if we did not have any apps, how did they even know we were going to be $30 over their initial figures? And how would they know our credit scores did not qualify us? Doesn't make sense if he took a second to listen to himself. After all the denials and lame excuses for the error which he would not even acknowledge, he abruptly cut me off to say he will refund us our deposit. Mind you, he knew I was on my way for our signing, which was now supposedly happening in less than an hour. I've never felt so insulted and berated in my life -- all for an error not of my doing. No apologies were given at all. It was the most insulting conversation I've ever had with a sales person trying to earn my business. Not recommending them even if they paid me! I have purchased more than a few new cars over the years. My guess is that Secor Subaru is your "average 21st century dealership". If you rein in your expectations, you can get a nice car here. Customer service is not their strong suit. read more

It's great to see a sales staff that's not pressure sales. Evert answered all our questions and even got us in a better vehicle than we were looking and still within the price range we wanted. Professional, to the point, and blunt, Evert made us feel comfortable with our choice and not second guessing our decision. My wife was impressed with the excellent service Evert provided. We bought one new car in 2017 from Secor. Had a great experience with the sales department. Bought a used 2015 Outback late this spring from Secor. Same salesman and again was happy with the purchase. That's when we started dealing with the service department. The service has a lot to be desired. To many negative things to mention about the front desk staff. Additionally wrong part information provided by parts department. You buy a vehicle from a local dealership thinking that you would have a better all around experience . Not the case. Sales was great but parts and service need work. read more

Since purchasing my outback six years ago, I have seen a steady decline in the service department. What was excellent has now become well below average and dishonest. A simple request of the service adviser to use full synthetic oil has presented a seemingly impossible task for the technician to implement. I've noticed that an oil change and filter for my 2.5 liter vehicle has gone from 5 quarts of oil to recently 6 quarts on the last bill. That, paired with additional fees now added to the service charges for shop supplies etc. lead me to believe they are using the same tactics used by Comcast billing. Lastly, driving home from my last visit where the tires were rotated, I noticed a vibration on the drive side front tire. I called about that and was told it should go away as soon as the tire adapted to its new position. Checking further I discovered the cause was 3 lug nuts only hand tightened. What made me even madder was that the two that had been tightened were adjacent to each other. Now even my eleven year old grandson knows lug nuts should should be tightened in a star pattern, never the way they were done. For my safety, budget and sanity I will never use their service again. read more

I would highly recommend Secor Subaru to anyone looking to purchase a new or used car. Our friendly salesman, Carlos, made the whole procedure of buying our new car a simple and pleasant experience. He was very knowledgeable and helpful with any questions we had. We had been looking for a slightly used Forester, and agree that Secor gave us the best deal around.
