They take a flat up front fee from the proceeds, mine was $3,000 and then the sales rep started to explain to me it's all used and therefore deeply discounted. (duh) However, I have had 2 of these before that Ann Dees did and they got top dollar for my prents' things, so I was surprised at the comments since everything in my house is expensive and slightly "used" rather than "lived in" used. We ended up giving everything we would have sold away to non profits and will use the deductions on our tax return, which was a better deal for us.

The representative said she could cut $5 dollars off each ring - a discount of sorts for buying more than one ring. She did not give me the discount and even worse she over charged me beyond what the tags showed. I even questioned her at the time of payment and she said it was correct. When I got home it still did not sit with me. I felt this is the only recourse as the bottom of the receipt it states all sales are final. I should have paid $157.00 + $12.95 sales tax (8.25%) = $169.95. I paid her $277 in cash. Needless to say I feel taken and will no longer go to Blue moon estate sales.
