I found two charges on my bank statement, from the times they had held my card, even though I had paid in cash. I had not signed the receipt. Last time I was in there, the "night manager", asked me for my card. I told her I couldn't do that, since twice, I had been charged even though I had paid cash. Her response was "I still have to have the card because "I don't know you". She did not bother to check with any of the other bartenders, to ask about serving me previously. She also did not bother to even look the least bit concerned about the charges. She took the beer with both hands, raised her voice somewhat and said "then you can't drink here", making sure to inject some drama. The whole encounter demonstrated a COMPLETE lack of people skills, and an immediate willingness to be confrontational with regard to anything other than, "SHE" did not know me, without any attempt to do anything other than bully, control, and disregard the problem with the card being charged. You have to go out of your way to disrespect somebody to treat them that way, She was right about not drinking there. Putting someone that lacking in people skills coupled with a personality quick to escalate to confrontation in a management position, tells me all I need to know.

Because yesterday was also Anthony Bourdain day, we celebrated by trying a food we had never tried before: Steak Tartare! Oh. My. God. It was luscious and divine. We enjoyed the Shrimp St. Martin-poached shrimp in a delectable beurre-blanc sauce. Of course, we had to share a bowl of my love language: Champagne and Brie Soup. There aren't words for the moment you sip your first taste. Your eyes roll into the back of your head as you savor the explosion of flavor. For entrees, I had the Sole Meunière. Seared perfectly in butter and the only place outside of France that has done this fish justice. James had the Scallops and Pork Belly. It was a new spin on surf and turf. Judging by how little he spoke to me during his meal, I am assuming it was fabulous. He did give me a bite and the scallop was prepared perfectly and was probably the best scallop that I've had in DFW. The restaurant sent us over 2 glasses of house-made bourbon crème for our anniversary. It was similar to Baileys, but on steroids. For dessert, we walked back over to the bar for after dinner drinks. James enjoyed a glass of Abelour Scotch neat. It's his favorite as it's not peaty at all. Jamie, the bartender, made me the best espresso martini that I've ever had! Fresh espresso mixed with espresso liqueur, reposado tequila and bourbon cream. She hit the top with flame to settle the bubbles in order to add espresso beans. Honestly, it was the best meal that I've had outside of France.

The cocktail menu is diverse and unique. I took our excellent server's (Kayla) recommendation and had the Bryan St Martini, which is a gin-based martini with a a lemon stuffed olive topped with black caviar. My wife had the Spiced Pear 75, which she loved. Since they are cuisine francaise, our table started with the escargot bourguignon, which has the typical six snails, but instead of butter+garlic+herbs, they were in a cream sauce and then topped with more escargot on top! The complimentary bread (and butter) served when we sat down were perfect to top with escargot and dip into the cream sauce. Our dining friends order the beet carpacio salad and we had the champagne-brie soup. After one spponful, I told Kayla that dish alone is worth another visit. My wife had the duck a l'orange and I had chicken roulade. For dessert, we split a bananas foster souffle, which requires 20 minutes prep time, which Kayla perfectly timed after we ordered when our entrees came. Overall, great food, GREAT service and a truly unique vibe!

You won't find a better drum instructor in Dallas than Johnny Bell. His tab method gets you started…read moreright off the bat. He is personable, high energy and I welcome his critiques. I am 41 years old and never picked up a drum stick in my life until this week. Within one lesson, I decided on not only my grip but that I wanted a drum set- a decision not to take lightly as a kit takes up square footage in your home and it's a "loud" instrument. He did not push me to purchase a kit either. He gave me numerous recommendations tailored to my 1230 sq ft home. I will continue my lessons in his studio as it's a really badass set up and I enjoy playing with him, despite drumming appearing to be a "solo" instrument to us noobs. I would recommend him for adults as well as children. I am a piano player. Drums are an "intimidating" instrument to me...but not anymore with Johnny Bell as my instructor. He is in love with his craft and it shows during every minute of lessons.

**5 Stars Lunch at Toro Toro Delivers, Again**…read more Lunch at Toro Toro was amazing. $18 for the buffet is honestly a steal, but the real story is the service; which is exactly what we've come to expect here. Five stars all around. From the moment we pulled up, Jackelyn and the fellas at valet were sweet and attentive. Our server Catalina was fantastic, and Kimberley and Eva made sure we were looked after the entire time. We also had the pleasure of meeting Chef Julio, who gave us a preview of the upcoming August menu, we're genuinely excited for it! Now you'd think with a restaurant to have a small menu that they would master their craft and serve your an amazing meal NOPE! Thankfully we didn't go with the absurd $70 price point and instead we decided to order à la carte. I ordered the chicken and waffles and I'll tell u if I spent $70 to be served that dish I would be f*ckin pissed! Not only was my food cold when it arrived. The tenders they used looks like straight out of a Tyson chicken box from Walmart. We joked sonic had the same tenders. Now you'd would think they at least knew how to heat up the chicken (see cold food comment above) NOPE! My chicken was legitimately raw! Whooooo TF serves up raw chicken in such an expensive restaurant??? Which is potentially DEADLY btw! I had such high expectations of this place seeing it was in the heart of downtown Fort Worth and with how amazing dinner looks from the pictures I assumed I was in for a treat for brunch too but I was gravely mistaken. The first red flag should've been how slow it was there were barely any people there. But we decided to give it a try anyways. Fortunately enough I got away with having to only pay $30 for my Tyson raw chicken and waffles and an upset stomach. Will never recommend this place or come here again. Ambiance 7/10 Service 5/10 Brunch 1/10 literally inedible
