NEVER go to the mall again. Just go here! I'm lucky to live right around the corner from this gem. Three large rooms of name brand and designer women's and junior clothing at a fraction of the price you'll find in the mall. Handbags, shoes, jewelry and accessories as well. (No men's clothing.) Introduced this place to my sister (who lives out of town) and she was in there for 2 hours. Everything is well organized and presented. Staff is great and accommodating. Dog friendly!! (Nice, since I usually pop in while walking my pooch.) This establishment is on 5th Avenue, just a hop from downtown Columbus in Grandview Heights. 5th Avenue has several upscale consignment clothing and furniture shops all in a row and within walking distance of each other. If you're like me and rotate into a new wardrobe practically every year, then this is the place to sell consignment! I've had a lot of luck with the pieces I've brought in to sell (you get 50% of selling price), and with my busy schedule, it's much more convenient to sell it this way vs. ebay, etc. Anything that doesn't sell can be picked up before the 2 month consignment window is up, otherwise the store will donate the remaining items to charity. They even have an online website where you can track your current balance. Do take note that consignments are only accepted 11-5 Monday-Saturday and that they have to be seasonally appropriate. As far as the actual inventory goes for buying, I've also purchased a few items. I definitely think the merchandise here has a better layout than most second-hand stores and that the store makes more of an effort to carry popular brands. I've often found $5-10 off coupons in the local Grandview flyer and I just noticed one in the 2010 Entertainment Book as well. read more

I love taking items in for consignment, they tend to get higher prices for there items then nearby stores. I have found the store to be a little inconsistent with the items they are looking for. I showed the manager several winter items in the fall, and she stated she wanted them and asked me to bring them back in October 1st because they were not accepting winter consignment yet. When I went back on October 1st as requested, she didn't want the items. I felt like my time had been wasted....however, the day was not a loss Alternative Resale across the street was more than willing to consign the items. If you have Coach or Prada purses or designer shoes Second Chance is the only place I would take them. read more

I absolutely love Second Chance. Selling clothing on consignment is a new "hobby". In order to buy new I must get rid of old and this is the perfect place for your still in style OR vintage clothing. With the new addition to their store, you can now bring in more high-end things and browse designers like diane von furstenberg as well as grab a great pair of designer Jeans. The people are friendly and not are approachable they accept most things on consignment as long as they are clean, in style and in good shape. I highly recommend this as a place to take those items that you just are not sure what to do with, and pick up something new! read more

If everything were $5-10 cheaper this place would be 5 STARS. Unlike that one consignment down the street (* cough cough* One More Time) this one caters to a wider variety of women styles. There are not only preppy, business casual clothes, but also pieces that are one of a kind! The size of this place is impressive as well as its selection. This place carries name brands but has racks for them so you can specifically know where they are located; it's convenient. I bought three dresses which were $8, $16, and $28. When it comes to thrifting I never like spending more than $15 on something but danggit I had to treat myself! This boutique has so many cute, sexy, unique,powerful business woman looking items I couldn't say no. You know that when the owner recognizes your last name when she's ringing up your debit card you or one of your family members may have an addiction to shopping here. That would be my mother with the addiction (I mean who could blame her when she brings home Kay Unger and Missoni dresses for mad cheap?). My most recent purchases from here include Citizens for Humanity jeans (old Kelly bootcut style circa 2002-04) for $30 which I cut off into my summer staple, jorts; a vintage all leather Coach satchel (with none of those tacky 'C' logos) in the most amazing taupey color with hint of lavender to it for $30 (mind you Coach has reissued a lot of their vintage designs retailing for well over $250 now), an impeccable seersucker J. Crew blazer for $28, and a new with tags (and still currently on the J. Crew racks) silk/cotton blend, button up, on trend ikat print blouse for $28. They also always accept coupons which you can pull up on your smart phone at check out - $5 off a purchase of $25, $10 off $50. As someone who had a brief stint working in a consignment store, remember the general rule of thumb that an item will retail for 1/3 the price of whatever the original retail price was (obviously there are exceptions especially when it comes to designer and how high end it is, plus condition of the item, plus whether it's on trend, etc). You also can cosign your clothes here (you'll get 50% of whatever your item sells for) and make some happy hour dough. Don't take it personally when they don't take your stuff - they never take more than a few pieces of my stuff out of 2 full bags. read more

The store is separated into three rooms, high end designer items in one, an area to consign items, sales racks, brand specific (J. Crew, etc.) racks, shoes, a vintage section in one room, and more clothes in the next room as well as lots of accessories. As with all consignment shops, you have to be prepared to dig a little, but I have had some great finds! Prices are generally pretty good, but that does mean you earn a little less on the items you consign. That said, I have had good luck selling my items, and I love that I can check my balance on their website! I have not spent money here that I have not gotten out of my consignment account..I love that I am saving a ton of money on clothes and simultaneously getting rid of things I don't wear! My one complaint is that the items they accept to be consigned seem a little inconsistent times..I have taken in items that are better brands and seem to be more in style than the items I have seen on their racks. Maybe that's just my personal bias to my clothes talking ;) At any rate, check Second Chance out if you are looking to consign or buy designer or higher end items! read more

THE place for vintage designer clothes and bags. You can often score a great deal on LV, Chanel, Prada and other high end designers. They are very particular and all bags, shoes, clothes are priced based on condition with friendly and educated staff. Definitely recommend going here if you like high end stuff but don't want to buy new. Also a great place to consign designer items without the hassle of eBay or real real. read more

Amazing service and wonderful finds! First of all, they require everything to be cleaned before it's even looked at, so it's possibly one of the only resale stores in the US without THAT smell. Also, the staff is knowledgable and helpful; they even know a lot of the customers' names and numbers so they can call them when something awesome comes in they might like! Their inventory is fantastic! They are careful to only take authentic designer clothing & accessories, and have a seemingly endless supply!
