They were flexible as we finished getting ready, moving first to flat lays and venue pictures. We had a large list of groups for staged pictures with us and some guests were non-English speakers, but Emry handled everything in a patient and efficient manner. He was so easygoing and great at giving us directions (we are very awkward in front of the camera and had no idea what photos we wanted to take). Brian's talent and photos speak for themselves -- they are gorgeous! Most of our communications were with the owner, Ryan, who was very friendly and accessible. We once emailed him at 10 pm on a week night and he responded right away. His schedule also freed up so that he was the second photographer at our wedding. Monica and Chandler go to take engagement photos. Chandler is fine until the moment the photographer is about to snap a photo...for whatever reason, he ends up with a weird expression on his face. That's so me!!! I hate taking pictures and anytime there is a camera near my face, I tense up and end up with an unnatural, awkward smile. My husband is extremely photogenic and therefore taking pictures is no big deal to him. But because I am plagued by CBS, I was really nervous about taking engagement photos. I knew finding a photographer that was going to make me comfortable enough to take good photos was very important but I also knew it wasn't going to be an easy feat. I researched online and asked friends for referrals. We were close to picking someone when we saw a sample wedding book by Jan & Tey at the Newport Marriott. My husband and I just knew that's who we wanted. We hired Jan & Tey to shoot our engagement and wedding photos back in 2009. Being the true professionals they are, they put me at ease and were actually able to capture some really nice shots. Jan is extremely creative in setting up the right shot and finding the right shadows and lines to accentuate his subject and deliver a message. Tey is the calming force and the one that is able to capture true emotions. As a husband and wife team, they complement each other very well. And besides their professionalism, they have a genuine passion for their craft and it shows in the pictures they take. We found David after he did our friend's wedding about a year before our wedding. My wife was a bridesmaid at that wedding and remembered how at ease he made everyone in the wedding party feel. We corresponded with David through email and after working out a few details of our package, we hired him to do our engagement session and wedding. Our engagement session took place at two locations on a crazy humid Los Angeles day. We were able to photograph at our favorite restaurant Bavel and we moved over to The Row for our second location. At each location, we gave David a few minutes to scout each place and his eye for the perfect picture was amazing. About two weeks after the shoot, we asked David for a few shots so that we could use them on our invitations. We knew that we were asking for a pretty quick turnaround but David was able to oblige. The engagement photos turned out great! We got married in Rancho Palos Verdes and David knew exactly where he wanted to take us before the wedding. He chauffeured us around the sleepy beach town to different locations and after seeing the shots, we were happy that he did. At our wedding we had one request, we really wanted to emphasize photos of our family since my mom would get mad if we didn't have them. David was happy to oblige and not only did he get individual portraits of everyone, but we also have some spectacular group shots. Overall, David made the whole process was pretty easy. While David, my wife, and I know how hard and awkward it was getting us into the perfect poses, none of that awkwardness can be seen in the pictures. We cannot say enough about the team at Full Spectrum Photography and will recommend him to anyone.
