    Custom stonework on the fireplace

Like so many other reviewers here, I recommend Sebring Design Build without hesitation. We chose Sebring to finish our basement primarily because they finished our neighbors' basement to high praise from everyone. From the planning stages to the construction process to the final product, everything was handled professionally, courteously, competently, and promptly by Bryan and his team (Hi Linda, Nancy and Jocelyn! You rock!). Planning/budgeting: Bryan communicated every detail of the anticipated costs in writing during the planning stage, and that is precisely what the project cost - aside from change orders issued at my request. All change orders were discussed in detail in advance, and approved by me through the online portal. I felt like I was in control of the process the entire time, and fully understood what I was paying and what I would get for that cost. My one suggestion would be to enable clients to make payments through the online portal. I literally had to buy a checkbook in order to write the series of checks to pay Sebring since the rest of my world accepts electronic payments. Process: Our project, captained by Phil, was finished right on schedule despite several surprises (old black mold in a wall, leaky window wells) that could have derailed things. Nothing phased Phil, and he was immediately responsive to all of our concerns, 24/7. All of the subcontractors who performed work on the project were just as courteous, competent and professional as Bryan and Phil. They were impeccably clean despite the mess that comes with construction, and kind to my curious young children. I will attach some images from the construction process to show just how well these guys cleaned up after themselves and went out of their way to be courteous by restocking our powder room supplies mid-project. End result: Of course, none of the above would matter if the end result was garbage or not what we wanted. But it's gorgeous - see pictures. The basement looks even better than I imagined, and integrates all of my random requests. Their stonemason even built my requested "wood niche" for the fireplace to spare me a million trips up and down the stairs with firewood. Ultimately, you get what you pay for. Sebring charges more than many, but they cross their T's, dot their I's, and thensome. It is money well spent. We already have plans in place to use them again for our master bath renovation. Please do not hesitate to message me if you have any specific questions about our experience with Sebring.

I have been meaning to write this review for a few months now, but was too busy enjoying my new kitchen and bathroom that Sebring built! After deciding not to do a full addition to our house, we settled on some much needed renovations. Our small bungalow had the same kitchen cabinets in it from the 1920's, along with a master bathroom that was showing wear. The hunt for the right contractor was first on our list. We asked our friends for recommendations, and got plenty. The problem was that most had issues with the people they had used, and wouldn't use them again. So we had a list of folks NOT to use, but a very short list of ones to get bids from. The first three came in, looked at the areas to be redesigned, told us what they thought it would cost, and were never heard from again. We were shocked. As we were getting ready to find someone else, a guidebook called the Best Pick Reports (no joke, I thought it was spam mail), landed in our mailbox and there were two contractors in there that sounded like they could be the right fit for us. One took a couple of days to get back to me, but the other, Sebring Services, called me back within the hour. That was a good start. We set up an appointment to meet with them at our house, and requested that they bring their cabinet person with them as well, so we could get a true estimate of what the costs would be (we had found that most people brought some brochures and told us it depended on what we picked, which led us to believe the costs could be out there). To our surprise, the owner of the company, Bryan Sebring came to our house for the estimate, along with his cabinet guy, Kevin. They spent hours in our old kitchen talking about ideas, the timeframe of the project (this was in November, and we wanted to start in January), what kinds of things we could do with the little space we had, and the costs. We talked about everything from low range to high range. In the end, we were impressed with what they came up with, and were told that they would be back in touch with us soon. The very next day, Bryan called and asked if he could come again for some more measurements and to talk about some ideas with us. He arrived on time, and stayed for about an hour to go over some things, and make the cost estimate more exact. He also came to the house with computer generated photos of what our new kitchen would look like after it was done. We were impressed! Not only had he followed up immediately, told us how he worked, was upfront about the costs, but he brought us pics of what the finished product would look like. And we hadn't even signed the contract with him yet! At this point, we knew he was our front runner for the job, and asked him for four recent references of projects he had done, and was in the middle of. That way we could get a feel for two sides of how a project with him could go. All four were very very positive, and said that they were extremely happy with the work Sebring had done, and had no regrets. It was then, that we decided to go with Sebring. The next day Bryan came over, we signed the paperwork, and wrote the first installment check. He presented us with a detailed spreadsheet of what work would get done on which day, and who would be doing it. It said who our project manager would be (a very nice guy named Percy), and who would be coming into our house for each part of the process (plumber, demolition, electrician, painter, etc.). We asked all of the questions about people coming into the house, Bryan having a key to the house, etc. Everyone was bonded and insured, and we were assured that they had never ever had a problem in the past with their employees and contractors. With two small girls in the house, we were a bit nervous, but felt very comfortable after going through the process with Bryan. He explained to us in detail every single person that would be coming into our house, and their history with him. We loved the fact that this guy actually knew each worker and had years invested in them. It put us at ease. Alright, this review is getting a bit long, and I don't want to bore you with the details. So, I'll speed it up! Long story short, the project started on time in January, and ended on time in March. Sebring kept to that original spreadsheet so amazingly that we were shocked. Every single person that came into our house was professional and courteous to the fact we were living through this craziness. I'll try and attach some photos of the before and after so you get an idea of what we were doing with the space. We ended up having such a good experience with Sebring, that we had them do our bathroom as well. I can only say, that from our experience, I would HIGHLY recommend Sebring Services for any type of remodeling you may have. Have them come in for an estimate, and you'll see what I'm talking about!

I wanted it to be five stars, but we had some issues relating to time (see below** if interested), Sebring Services is a good company If you want me to sum up how I feel.. read the last line in the review. We called a bunch of contractors and interviewed the four that got back to us. We figured that the ones that didn't get back to us were probably not worth chasing down. Not all four of the ones that we talked to were all that great either We knew that were going to $pend $ome dough on the addition and wanted to pick the right company to do it. Bryan came recommended by a guy that I know.. so that was a plus. He was also responsive and professional. We had a bit under 500 sq ft added onto the house, comprising a completely rebuilt screened porch, Family room with fireplace, 1/2 bath, foyer and closet. In addition a deck was added, the whole house re-roofed, plumbing updated in the house and with a new supply line from the street and some electrical work redone. Our house is a small dutch colonial and we wanted the addition to fit with the current style (high ceiling, but not vaulted, woodwork that matched, similar windows, etc..) and that's exactly what we got. We had found two old doors in the garage (with cool hinges) and they were able to save them for the new space. They look beautiful. Bryan Sebring did the initial drawing of the addition, his quote was the second highest but contained a more full accounting of what would need to be done.. the other contractors left things out.. like NEW WATER SERVICE (duh!) so we felt a high level of confidence in Bryan and his company from the beginning. Bryan met with our architect at the house and the talked through some initial issues.. they came up with great ideas that really improved the livability of the addition and of our existing home. So, we love the addition and all of the work the Brian, Nancy (Project Manager) and the crew did for us. They were willing to make changes on the fly (Nancy: "No Problem we can do that!") All of the Sebring crew did a great job, are very professional and courteous. Miguel and Alvaro are true craftsmen and when they are at your house the competence is palpable, they are terrific. They did not nickel and dime us either.. we/they got so much done that I am still amazed. I'm pretty sure that they didn't make much (if any) money on our deal. But, never once did they say anything, grumble, complain or infer. They put a lot of effort into doing things right. I work with contractors all of the time, I've been abandoned by contractors before they've finished... but Sebring had me hold onto extra money from our payments so that I had a feeling of security, they never asked for a dime of those final monies until they were completely finished with the job. ***The sometimes difficult: We applied for our permit in June of 2014, it took two months to get it (screwing up everybody's timetable) and the project was completely finished in at the end of August 2015.. It was scheduled to be completed in November of 2014, some of this was due to bad weather, the slow permitting process, some really slow sub-contractors (probably because of the schedule being off.. but still...) I think that perhaps later, when there were less things to do we were re-prioritized and other jobs took precedence. We were able to use most of the addition from December 2014 forward. They hired a sub-contractor to do the siding (we had lot's of different sub-contractors ..for the most part; excellent) and I wish I had the name of the company.. because not only were they excruciatingly slow, they were also totally inept.. unfortunately for us all, they finished in December and due to weather, it was a couple of weeks before we discovered the leaks in the fireplace.. Sebring had their own guys come out and take apart the whole chimney in 0 degree weather in January.. and they fixed it... Then we developed a leak in the screened porch where the cedar ceiling was damaged.. that was a real ordeal for them to figure out, but they did and then replaced the expensive ceiling. There was still work to be done and eventually Sebring hired a new siding company (awesome, very professional) that whipped the rest of the siding into shape.. fixing things I didn't know were a problem. It's important to note that we never had to make demands or argue about anything, Sebring recognized that these were problems and took care of them. It was just a really long project. So, would I use them again? Yes!

The Sebring team was great to work with on my recent home projects . We did a full remodel of the master bathroom and a partial remodel of our kitchen . The entire process from start to finish ran smoothly . Brian and Linda helped build a plan around my vision and budget and Phil managed the project flawlessly. The entire team is talented , experienced and professional. I would highly recommend working with the Sebring team. They are focused on quality and meeting their customers expectations.

The scope was all new flooring, new kitchen, new bathroom, new powder room, and new paint and lighting throughout. We interviewed a few contractors and after meeting Daryl and Shelbie, the owners of TrueMark Construction, we felt we found a fit. They have a professional process and approach, starting with a formal design that helped us decide the new layout, materials and colors. After design we felt comfortable with how the finished product would look and went under contract. The construction process put together by Daryl was seamless. He provided constant communication with us to ensure we were aware of any issues, what was going on and what was next. He even provided a weekly video walkthrough of progress if we were not available to discuss it in person. There were only a couple change orders, initiated by us, where we added to the scope. TrueMark had no issues with us requesting these changes and they were able to keep within the original timeline. The final product is exactly what we expected, perfection. From the perfect tile work to the custom cabinets to the incredible design results, we could not be more pleased with TrueMark. If you are looking for a company who is, professional, prompt, detail-oriented, and trustworthy, TrueMark is who you want to trust with your product. Thank you Daryl and Shelbie!

The dust was very well contained and vacuumed daily, plus these guys were on their hands and knees cleaning the covered floors with a sponge often. It truly was a pleasure to work with True Mark! We are disappointed they are moving so we can't use them for our next job.

It saddens me to have to write this 1 star review, as I was looking forward to eventually writing…read morethis business a 5 star, as I was ALSO looking forward to working with Vinny for MANY more projects and years to come... Please Note: I write this review ONLY to inform "you" of my experience, nothing more, as I did and/ or still DO like Vinny, just bothered by how things ended... With that said I do NOT discredit his 5 star reviews, but yet, I will NOT give credit to how he handled some parts/ prices of the job, and most importantly, how he handled the situation with me BEFORE the job was ever even finished: I just bought a house and upon moving in, a copper water pipe in the ceiling burst 2 days later (due to freezing temps), Welcome (to your NEW) home! So I contacted Vinny who quickly rushed over and helped address and remedy the situation. I was extremely happy and relieved with how fast, attentive and friendly he was to me and my unfortunate situation. He said mold and/ or black mold is very common here in TN, and we should NOT take any chances, to which I did NOT disagree: Better to be safe than sorry. I would much rather be proactive NOW, then forced to be reactive later, when it's "too late" by then... So very quickly the ceiling got ripped out, as did the insulation, and not having a truck, Vinny dropped off a dehumidifier as I was told it would help to dry out the room. I wanna say I was charged $2,500, give or take; I thought that to be kinda pricey, but ok... Then after that was done, he had framers come to re-frame the ceiling... Was that needed...? I'm not sure, but this where the story takes a turn after I was charged another $2,100 for the framers... : Not only did the framers cut the wire to the thermostat in that room that I was never even informed of, but this was right around Christmas, so the temperatures were extremely cold, windy, and rainy, and not having a thermostat to keep that room heated at all, and not having a ceiling with any insulation, made it ALL even that much worse. When I told Vinny the wire to thermostat was cut, he said "happens..." Oh OK, cool... Thanks... So now I had to hire an electrician to fix that wire, which not only cost ME $350, but he also said "Hey, this EXPOSED wire is 'hot!' This is NOT safe to have a live wire exposed like this!" Then to make it even worse, once it got fixed, as it had to be to "code," he had to put in 2 boxes, BOTH with covers! So now my $2+ million dollar house has 2 plastic covers next to each other in the ceiling... LOL... Looks great, thanks a lot... Pictures below: Then I had an HVAC guy come that was referred to me now that the thermostat has been fixed, before the insulation and drywall can get put back in ceiling... When he shows up, to make a long story short, he said "WTF happened to your ceiling!?! Why is the ENTIRE ceiling removed?" I told him a water pipe burst, and he said "That's not right to have done this because of that. Why did he re-frame the entire ceiling?" I said I don't know... "Why did the framers put sister beams to all of them?" I don't know... "They didn't even really re-frame, they just nailed new wood to the existing wood that was already there. Maybe replace the wet ones, but not sister every single one of them. Does your contractor even know what they did?" Does he know they did this...? Did he see/ approve this?" I don't know... And because I'm not a contractor or someone who knows anything about how to fix homes, I might never know if any/ all of this was ne. But nonetheless, the HVAC guy then said "Call your contractor, I would like to talk to him..." He had his convo with Vinny, asking him why this and that was done, and it looks terrible, and Vinny hung up on him... So anyways, I believe it was the next day, maybe 2, I called Vinny to ask him what the status is on completing the job, since he had previously sent me another invoice to complete the job that was going to cost me another $4,000... So from start to finish, this is going to cost me $10,000!?! Starting to feel like I might be getting taken advantage of, but whatever, it needs to get done right... Vinny answered and said in a nutshell, "I do not appreciate the drunk guy that called me, I was doing you a favor! I was making no money on this job! I don't care what you do from here, I'm not working on this job anymore with you, or on any job for you in the future! Take care!" And hung up on me... Ummmm, WTF just happened...??? Did he just hang up on me...? Did he just hold me accountable for a conversation that he had with someone I didn't even know? I would/ will NEVER hold someone else accountable for a conversation that they have with someone else... Ever. So I was forced to find someone else to complete what Vinny started, and pick up the pile of trash that Vinny's crew left in the front of my house... So as I said at the beginning, this is NOT a "hit piece" or a hate piece, this was just MY piece and NOTHING more...
