It's a Benjamin Moore paint retailer - so the quality is good. For me, Benjamin Moore is the only…read morepaint I'll use and since Parvo's is the only dealer on the island, I have to go there. The people who work there are hot and cold - sometimes I go in and get help, especially when the older woman is working, but other times they are absolutely no help. I am going thru the excruciating process of picking an exterior house paint color, and so recently have been going there just about every day for more samples or quarts to try out. I went in and said, "I'm almost there. Getting very close. The color I'm looking for is a toned down version of Stratton Blue. I'm looking for something in between Stratton and Sea Pine. Can you help me find that color?" To which their response was, "did you look at the paint chips we have?" Yeah. Uh, my painter gave me their entire color portfolio. I happen to really really suck at picking off of paint chips. Which is why I literally have 2 dozen samples here at the house, and you know, that adds up to alot of money. So I was asking for their freaking expertise because I don't know what I'm doing. And I said as much to them. So I walked out of there with yet another paint sample, which I picked on my own and was totally wrong when I got home. My contractor asked me how I made out when I got back, to which I responded that they really are of no helpat all there. He wasn't surprised and stated that they pretty much have that reputation. Then he had the brilliant idea of mixing Stratton with Sea Pine until we found what I liked - and lo and behold that's all it took. I painted a shingle, took it in to Parvos, and had them match it. When they matched it, yeah, it was pretty much a color they already had. Which maybe they could have helped me with when I'd asked, instead of me having to go home again and then make yet another trip back. If you are a professional painter or don't need their help, then yeah, Benjamin Moore paint is great and you'll be fine. Just don't be expecting any sort of color help.

I don't know why I haven't written this sooner. I've been a customer of Parvo's for about 30 years…read moreand I don't have a single negative thing to say. I've watched staff come and go and everyone has always been very helpful. I paint canvas floorcloths and color matching is extremely important and Sue and Will and Donna et al are always patient and accommodating. I tend to rely on Sue often, as she has never steered me wrong. Recently, I wanted to buy a gallon of exterior paint but I didn't want to spend much, given what I was painting, so I chose one from the "mistakes" collection. But, since it was a little lighter than what I wanted, Sue took probably a half an hour, adding black pigment a little at a time, to get it to the right darkness. I am a definite fan of Parvo's. In fact, I am on my way there right now!
