Super cute beach town! I like The Buzz (huge candy store, kid's dream store) and Pig 'N' Pancake (delicious pigs in a blanket!). I happened to be here just in time for the Miss Oregon pageant parade, so lots of people were lined up in the streets, adding excitement to the air. A couple more places I would've liked to try are the Funland Arcade, Zinger's Homemade Ice Cream, and Frills frozen yogurt and cupcakes! The beach is really nice too, fine white sand, warm under the feet, sometimes misty. There some weird bugs in the sand at the water that I never figured out what they were... read more

Visited on a cold day...however, the town is so quaint. And its a good day trip if you have time in Portland, OR. Also, the ride from Portland to Seaside is really scenic. Lots of shops and restaurants and little things to do here. Keep in mind that The ocean is a lot colder in the winter.... They are running a promo now, where you sign for this "tour" and get a free night stay at the local Best Western. read more

I'm someone who was a visitor and ended up moving here. Here is my take on Seaside. The amazing beaches are why people visit and why we live here. There are great things to do and see. What Seaside needs work on is the businesses that support this tourism and the local population. It feels like they all are too comfortable and stopped trying a long time ago. The restaurants need the most work. It's like locals have never been outside of Seaside. If someone is visiting from Portland or LA they will find these restaurants mediocre and over priced. The shopping for tourists are not good. Not sure how they stay in business. The closest tourist destination I have experienced is Santa Cruz Ca. but not as good. Too bad everyone with a business here couldn't visit to see how it's supposed to be done. That said the beach is the draw! read more

The ocean here is such a beautiful place to visit (aside from the major crowds during the summer) but the people here make it terrible. The people of this town have voted against their own interests and have inflated prices for no reason. I would personally not vacation here for any amount of time. This town is in need of major repair and could use a makeover. There are three extra over priced gas stations only at the front of town and one grungy Safeway that is also overpriced. There are plenty of restaurants but only 4 chain restaurants that also over priced. Compared to other resort towns this shitty little costal town just isn't worth it. read more

Beach itself is nice (it's a beach), but area around the beach is not so great. It's run down, uninviting and unappealing. So, then what's the point of all the pricey hotels? Just go to a different beach. Oregon coast has so many nicer beaches/beach areas. Seaside Beach is not a destination. read more

We visited Seaside, staying in Cannon Beach we drove up for dinner and amusement. Aside from a terrible dining experience at Guido & Vito's and their blatant racism(my family is mixed). The rest of the time was okay. We had fun on the rides, fun shopping and bought way too much toffee. It was sad we had to experience racial discrimination here, but it appears we weren't the first and I'm sure we won't be the last. read more

I HATE Seaside. Sorry Seaside -- but even your "theater" stinks...actually, worst theater in the world. The Safeway here even sucks worst than most Safeways. Your outlet mall sucks. Sorry, but as a city, you suck. Your "boardwalk" or main business drag sucks. The restaurants on your main drag suck. Overpriced. Bad quality food. And on top of it all? The people...I always worry I'm gonna run over someone with my car -- with all the crazy people and kids running all around. That arcade you have? Greasy overcrowded BAD. Ugh. I HATE Seaside. No other town on the Oregon coast do I hate as much as Seaside. read more

How can anyone rate Seaside negatively???? It's a small beach town that has retained it's character without being over the top. It's the only beach town in Oregon that I know of that has a decent promenade with actual things to do at reasonable prices. It completely blows Newport and Lincoln City out of the water! read more

Super walkable. Very sleepy ocean town. Really bad tasting water out of the tap. I mean seriously, get a filter City of Seaside! The bad water is unfortunately why I can only give out a 3 star review. However, there is a nice mix of cute and cheesy ocean town shops which is enjoyable. Also the beach is excellent! read more

I came to Seaside due to happenings in my life. It,to me, is just a sleepy little town. I'm sure in the summer people flock here. It has a remarkable amount of homeless people. Most of the workers are illegal and take the jobs. However and of course, this town is dead right now. (Jan.) I for one get a creepy weird vibe from this town. There Is lots to do...a day trip would be ok. But not to live here. read more

We stayed at the world mark resort which is great! We had a lovely week long vacation here. The beach is fantastic, loved having a fire on the beach at night. It's an affordable town to stay in and in close proximity to lots of things to do. read more

I love that they put swings on the beach!! It's so relaxing! There's so much to do at Seaside since they have so many shops and restaurants. It's a wonderful place for families. read more

We rented a little house right off the promenade. Our over all experience here was "meh" . There are much prettier, up-to-date communities around here. Next time we will shoot for Cannon beach. Better shopping and cuter downtown. This town seems old and outdated (not in a cute nostalgic way. More of a outdated from the 70s way.) Kind of run down a bit. The beach was nice & we found lots of sand dollars but I'm thinking you can do the same elsewhere. I would not come back here. read more

It was a pretty perfect weekend to stay in seaside. Sunny and hot, a little busy with high cross country teams but all and all a good time. It's always nice to take a weekend away from the city and enjoy the sand, ocean and salt water taffy. read more

Had a lot of fun! Just passing through, they are very dirty and need to take better care of the beaches. But other then not being clean it's a fun tourist town! read more

Don't waste your time!! We had been wanting to experience Seaside for years now and what a disappointment. This review is from my entire family even the kids did not like it(age range 10-17) There are plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from all in the same downtown area. The beach sand was dirty(rocky, wood pieces, broken glass,& garbage ) when you first walk in but as you got closer to beach it got cleaner(smoother sand). They have showers so u can rinse off but the water was cold. We rented a bike for all 7 of us and rode around the town. This was fun but very tiring. You don't realize how much work it is. We were over it 25 minutes into it. The rentals are for an hour. Now the locals are soo rude. The restaurant we ate at the gentlemen that helped at the counter was very nice and polite. He had to tell us we could not be inside restaurant due to are group size and Covid regulations. He told us to sit outside which we did and he would bring out menus. Once outside a waitress came out and started telling us we couldn't sit out there on tables because of our group size but she said it in a rude manner. Then there were 2 older ladies sitting in a table next to us who seemed to be regulars since they called the waitress by her name. They started making remarks in regards to sitting, that they would go sit inside and looking us up and down. We told her we were told we could. She went to verify and then let us sit. She forgot one of our drinks. we had to ask for napkins, sauces. The sodas were watered down. The food was good. Then later on in day the girls needed use restroom and went inside that same restaurant the waitress was super rude once again when letting them know they couldn't use the restroom since they were not customers then some other local girls that did not work at restaurant started repeating and telling girls stuff too. We understand rules but this waitress approach and they way she delivered message was very rude. Then on top of that having the locals making unnecessary remarks like if we weren't listening or something. Did not need there 2 cents put in. Oh and they had a sign up that read: Are u rude, bad tempered, just plain mean there will be a surely charge of $35. They probably have that song up because that waitress was soo rude they didn't want people defending themselves. The name of of this restaurant is Big Kahuna. On the beach I accidentally pumped into an older lady and I apologized and she was soo annoying and made a scuffing sound to my apology. She didn't apologize or say anything back. It was a situation were I turned around quickly and she happened to be walking by behind me. While riding bike and at a stop sign there was other lady crossing street and she was just staring mean mugging she even kept looking back at us. We also witnessed them being rude to other people. I don't want to use the racist thing but all the people that were rude were white and we are Mexican. One of the people we noticed someone being rude to were black. Not sure if it was that or the locals are just plain rude for no apparent reason. At the end of the trip everyone was disappointed and did not care for Seaside. We all decide we would never go back. I know some people need to experience it for themselves but don't waste your time there are so many another beaches and towns around, GO THERE INSTEAD!!! read more

The town of Seaside offers beautiful, long beaches, lovely oceanfront resorts and hotels & interesting Lewis & Clark history, but we found the town itself to be unimpressive. Very much a tourist trap with kitchy stores full of mostly "made in China," overpriced junk. Many shops closed on the weekdays. Two of the coffee houses carried only Costco baked goods; nothing fresh and local. Geared towards families and kids. Lacking in local art and charming ambiance. Crowded with limited parking during good weather months. There are definitely more interesting places to stay on the Oregon coast. read more

We went for the big sand volleyball tournament in mid-August. Spoiler alert: if you do not enjoy beach volleyball or big crowds, avoid this weekend of the year; if you do, this is the place for you. The beach is packed with hundreds of nets and ongoing games from Friday to Sunday. The weather is unpredictable so be prepared for anything outside of snow. If you're wanting to stay within walking distance to the town and beach during this weekend, you'll need to book several months in advance. Overall a great experience to play and be a part of. Small town with lots of mom and pop shops. If it weren't for the volleyball tournament, the town would probably be pretty quiet. read more

I've been to seaside every year for the past 4 years. If you live anywhere along the coast from Vancouver to Oregon its a must see. No it no Cancoon or Hawaii, but the beaches are very compariable and its only hours away .opposed to a 5 hour plane. The outlet stores are nothing like the Seattle outlets but are sufficient. They couldn't survive the slow winter. Seaside isn't great when it comes to restaurants, but we just bring our own, or go down to Cannon beach. I love that its dog friendly. The residents are really nice as well. There is a walkway that stretchs almost the entire length of the beach. I've ran it. If your staying in Seaside you can always take a day trip down the coast and visit all the great sites, It all depends on what your looking for in a holiday, if your looking for fine dining and 5 star accomodations well, not your thing, but if your into more simple things and down to earth you'll have a blast read more

Here at DUNDEEs bar and grill. First time here. Clean, friendly and have an Ice Bar installed in bar to keep your coctails cool. Great idea, never seen anything like it. Nice TVs forr game day. Come in I recommend rhis place. read more

Seaside has an advantage over most beach communities: it is almost a full service community. In addition to hotels, restaurants, bars, gas stations, souvenir shops, and arcades, it has some good grocery stores, auto parts stores, hardware stores, a real bookstore, a discount outlet center, a tire store, a place to get your oil changed, a real hospital and a small selection of professionals. The beach is right there, easy to get to, and served by a promenade extending 30+ blocks long the beach. The convention center and larger hotels make it easy to hold meetings. The chamber of commerce keeps the community active through the year. Other communities are of a similar size on the Oregon coast but none offer a much as Seaside. I don't live or work in Seaside. I am glad to live nearby. read more

Love all beaches, however, I feel like the other Oregon Coast beaches have better views. But I still love Seaside!

If you plan on staying at This Great Town do not rent a house from Ocean Air vacation homes.. They will not give you back your security deposit no matter what you do. They will say you did not clean the windows and left the house in a mess. Security deposit means you damaged house, cleaning deposit is another matter and that deposit is non refundable. Ok no return of deposit at all. The city of Sea Side says 1 parking space per bedroom our house had three bedrooms 2 parking spaces. We were told we parked on the lawn, a violation of rental agreement, 200.00 will buy a lot of seed, and trying to talk to Jay well he is a little off. So live and learn now you know rent your house from the owner, than no middle guy thinks he has to make more money off you. read more

You can't really drive down the coast without making a pit stop in Seaside. It was gorgeous when we got there but I saw the clouds slowly creeping in so I kicked it into high gear...I'm more nosey posey when I'm on a mini vacay so we spent some time poking around through the different shops along Franklin Street. It appeared to be the usual typical shops you would find in an touristy seaside (lol) town. Shops full of knicknacks you adore at the moment then carelessly throw aside upon your return home, ill stocked candy shops, salts....Nothing really stood out. It was a nice walk down to the beach but seeing it was early December, there were not too many people out on the beach. Its a great stop if you're driving down the coast but the food options seemed a bit limited. I would suggest waiting until you get to Cannon for food and to indulge in a bit of shopping if heading south and Astoria to the north. read more

The spot where I run to when I need a beach to getaway and clear out my thoughts. I'm originally from Hawaii and live in Washington State now and there is nowhere I can run to and rejuvenate better than a white sand beach. I, however, would not swim in this water here, just for the fact that it's too cold for my taste and the riptides are unpredictable. However I like to have the sand between my toes, the water stroking my ankles, the sound of the waves crashing down on the shore, and the smell of clean beachy air and firewood..... aaahhh brings me back to my youth.... I also enjoy having the wind blow through my hair and give me that beachy hair look I used to have when I was younger..... Seaside is the beginning of the Oregon Coast line that you have to venture south and experience, the further south you go the better the beaches get...... I will keep going back for relaxation.... read more

Super-touristy town on a beautiful beach. Definitely a kid-friendly place - arcades, silly stores, beach volleyball, swings, and kites. Packed with people (good if you're a people watcher), restaurants and candy shops. We loved it despite the business; however, we were there on a week day. read more
