So I returned to Stanton...their frames are relatively attractive and don't cost a mortgage payment. The staff is always friendly and attentive. I will admit I'm a tough fit and could be the customer from hell requiring multiple returns for an adjustment. The staff said don't worry; we have customers that come back every week because they damaged their frames. So I gave them my latest prescription. I selected the exact frame I had a few years ago...funny...as I went thru their vast selection and chose the same frame... When I picked up my glasses the prescription was spot on and the fit was perfect...no need to tweak the fit...they also refitted lenses into another frame that I purchased a few years ago. My only concern is that they have so many deals that it's impossible to match them up. But they are very "transparent " with the pricing and you do see what you get on their order form. I thought the price was more than fair and the overall experience was very good. I'd certainly recommend them.

When Jewel, the manager, came to assist us, she had an attitude and was very rude and condescending. We chose not to complain at that time. Now it is July 2025, and we needed to replace the frames, which were under warranty. Jewel, the manager, told me that I had already used the warranty once in May and that it was only valid for one use. I went home and looked up the warranty, which indicated that it was unlimited. I then called customer service and spoke to Isiac, who confirmed that I could use the warranty as many times as needed until October 2025. On August 2, 2025, I returned to the store to get the replacement glasses and informed them that I could use the warranty. However, they told me again that I couldn't use it. I insisted they check the notes on my account, which showed the warranty was indeed unlimited. Eventually, they agreed, and I was able to get my son's glasses.

My grandmother then my mother had all gone to Shepard in Santa Maria and it went well. Shepard is a beautiful facility, professional friendly staff. Dr. Bylsma was very understanding and caring. The surgery center, Premier Surgery center was equally clean and modern. Had both eyes done about 3 weeks apart. It's wonderful to have my X-ray vision back. I've had glasses and then contacts for 25 years and my contacts usually had to be special ordered (-8.5). Dr. Bylsma was very professional and apparently at the top of his league on the whole Lasik thing. He did all the tests to make sure I was a good candidate. Even though I was told that they would most likely only get me 20/30 vision I did better than great. It's been 3 years and I have perfect 20/20 vision. I tell everyone who is considering Lasik to go to Dr. Bylsma in Santa Maria.
