Without reservation, Dr. Cook is one of the most thoughtful, smart, pleasant, & efficient doctors I have encountered. I'm 60 -- I have seen a few docs!!! He has a very calming demeanor and he really knows how to assess a patient's worries & needs. Dr. Allen treated my mother's foot after weeks of pain that made it difficult for her to walk. In addition to being attentive and taking his time to answer my mother's questions or concerns, he made a quick but thorough diagnosis that resulted in treatment in the form of an injection to the affected area. She started feeling better the next day and months later has still not had any problems walking on the foot that received treatment. Picked this office out of the three I visited for a bunion procedure and also I was referred here by a good friend of mine. Dr. Izadi and her staff were very comforting and detailed on how the procedure would go step by step. Assured me that it would be an hour and half and I would be able to walk out of there same day. Procedure went so smooth that it was the best sleep I've had in years! Lol! They were ahead of schedule and it was over in 60 mins. Like promised I walked out of there 30 mins after I came out. Hitched a ride home because they recommended you to be picked up. Week later the stitches came out which I was really really surprised that it was that soon. I was able to shower like normal and had a follow up appointment every 2-3 weeks. I had some pain that was normal and was in shoes 2 months later. 3 months in and I am heading back to work. I use to see Dr Ritchie years ago. Loved his office. Hurt my foot Called realizing Dr.Ritchie retired. Got an immediate opening with Dr.Cook. Got X-rayed chipped a bone (5th metatarsal) told me to wear regid shoes,mentioned they often put a boot on patients come back in a month. Would need surgery if it didn't heal. Explained I'm a hairdresser. No treatment plan. After a couple weeks I was really hurting went to another podiatrist, he couldn't believe I wasn't put in a boot and now my 4th metatarsal is fractured! I never write reviews but be careful!! read more

I came to Seal Beach/Alamitos Podiatry on referral from an acquaintance after getting little help from other doctors. Dr. Allen is so patient, kind and professional. He is the first doctor to offer alternative treatments for plantar fasciitis that I'd been trying to heal for nearly a year. He re-fit my orthotics, went over proper shoe fit (no other doctor even mentioned the heel to toe shoe height), and I started EPAT therapy and laser treatment on my other foot. I have at least an 80% improvement so far and am still healing. Dr. Allen is very knowledgeable. He did not exaggerate effectiveness of the treatment. I'm very happy with my progress so far. Just being able to stand up without pain is a huge relief. In addition, I find the office staff to be quite personable and professional. The office is clean and I never waited more than 5 minutes for my scheduled appointment. Very satisfied. Highly recommend!! read more

I went into see Dr. Jeremy Cook and I had never been to a Podiatrist before. I had some symptoms that I felt needed addressing and he was very professional, and answered a lot of questions for me. I know that Dr. Ritchie recently retired and he was going to leave the practice with confident doctors that could continue the legacy he has provided in our beloved Seal Beach. I am so lucky that a friend referred me to this practice. Dr. Allen is very helpful, compassionate, knowledgeable, and up to date. I really like how he takes the time to explain my medical conditions (Morton's neuroma, osteoarthritis )and treatment options. I recently had an MRI for my feet and he spent at least 15 to 20 minutes explaining it to me. He also looked at my MRI results for my lower back which may be causing some of my feet issues. He never rushes you, he wants to you to know as much as possible, and he always gives me many options. also if you call with a question and it can be answered over the phone, he will return your call. I'm fortunate that he does that. Most doctors don't seem to have the time. He really wants to help you. He noticed my running shoes were getting worn out last December and that was causing a flareup. With the change in shoes and steroid treatments I can actually teach while standing . I highly recommend Dr. Allen and this practice. read more

I have had only the best experiences at SB Podiatry! Dr. Richie & his staff are professional & very caring. I had been to other podiatrists before I found Dr. Richie & he is simply the best. I've suffered from plantar fascilitis for a decade & I was always limping & in pain despite cortisone & PT. I've had amazing results with EPAT Shockwave Therapy. It cost $300 for 3 weekly treatments. The effects weren't immediate, but it was money well spent. I no longer have a limp or pain unless I run. & after a year, I just made appointments for another round in the hopes that I will be 100% & run & do calisthenics like I used to. Today I also learned from Dr. Richie that EPAT is very effective for tennis elbow too, so I am researching orthopedists who offer that treatment & anticipating happy results. I had mentioned my results from EPAT to my orthopedist & she NEVER said it can be used for elbows. I was about to pay $1000 for PRP even though it doesn't work for everybody & I don't like needles. I used to go here for years under Dr. Doug Ritchie. He was great - Good staff. A great experience. Went in the other day, Dr. Ritchie is retired. New team is pretty much not interested in Customer Service. Got fitted for new orthotics. Went back got them, they seem awfully flat. Then was asked to come back on a Friday at 9:30 to have them checked. Waited 40 minutes after my appointment time to see the Doc. Had to leave as I was supposed to be somewhere else at 11 am. Never got a call to reschedule.. no word from them at all... no I'm sorry or we were busy or anything. Very disappointing to say the least. Don't think I will ever go back. read more

This Podiatry Group is FANTASTIC! I have been seen at both locations for almost a year now, even before COVID. I started with Dr. Graham, and he was great. Now I see Dr. Izadi, and she is amazing. She takes the time to talk to her patients and isn't just focused on the treatment alone. The Nurses and Staff in the office are friendly yet professional, as well. The office is always clean and I barely wait at all to be seen. I have been receiving the Shock Wave treatments for my left foot with Plantar Fasciitis for a while now. I have had 9 treatments and have completely eliminated my heel pain. I highly recommend this treatment, this office, and Dr. Izadi. read more

Saw Dr. Richie several years ago (and just now getting around to writing the review). Went in for a bone spur on my foot and plantar warts. The lobby was comfortable to wait in, but felt unfriendly when you signed in because either no one was there or there was a glass separating the patients and the receptionist. Once I saw the doctor, he dismissed my bone spur to simply having "bony feet". After several visits and cortisone shots later, the situation was getting worse and he recommended surgery. It was so swollen and painful, there were times I couldn't walk, not to mention wear shoes. The idea of surgery was scary so I sought a second opinion. The second doctor told me that bone spurs were caused by a lack of calcium in my diet and to either eat more or supplement. I was happy to see that the swelling and pain in my foot went down by 50% within 24hrs of talking calcium supplements. It has been about 4 years and still pain free. Would never recommend this guy to any one! read more

While I think Dr. Richie is amazing and does wonderful work this review is specific to the office staff. One person calls yesterday to tell me my sons inserts are ready. They explain that he needs to be with me. I explain its not possible as he is in school in the hours they have available, she agrees that I can bring his shoes and they will fit without him present. I make the drive from Anaheim to seal beach sit in waiting room 30 min and am told by the twit behind the counter that the gal who called me was wrong and I can't get the inserts I have already payed for. No apologies no empathy just annoying and rude! Once I get the inserts I am done with this super unorganized place. read more

I'm shocked to read some of the reviews as I have had nothing but positive experiences with Dr Richie and the his staff. I first went to him 2 years ago for planter's fascistic and new orthotics. His orthotics were far better then my previous ones. He did a great job of accessing my foot, gave me a cortisone shot to get my foot on the mend and taped my foot. I just returned after 2 years as I had a flair up and wanted sport orthotics. I always enjoy seeing Dr Richie as he's very pleasant and the staff is awesome. I left my previous Dr as I always had to wait over an hour to get in a room. The staff here is very efficient and friendly. read more

After complaining that I shouldn't have to come in just to give you simple "positive or negative" test results and posting a bad review here, a doc called and gave me my results over the phone. I'm glad they revisited their policy because it really felt like they just wanted me to come in again so they could bill my insurance. read more

Worst experience ever with Dr. Ritchie. I fell down at work and broke my foot and sprained my ankle. I also developed some soft tissue problems as a result of the injury. I was referred to Dr. Ritchie and was told he was "the best". I wanted to come in at the end of December, and Dr. Ritchie was on vacation. They squeezed me in with one of his partners. She was great. I then got approved from workers comp, and the authorization was to see Dr. Ritchie specifically. I spoke to his staff, and they said that based on the fact that I am a marathon runner and Dr. Ritchie was recommended to me, they recommended I switch from the partner to Dr. Ritchie. I was looking forward to the visit as I was hoping to finally address my issues. When I got there, he was rude to me, he said he wouldn't see me because I had started with his partner. He did promise, though, to submit a request for dress orthotics to my insurance. I followed up in 2-3 weeks...no request was submitted. The staff said they would check with the doctor. I followed up again in another 2-3 weeks...still nothing submitted. They asked the doctor, and he said he wouldn't request the orthotics because they had nothing to do with my injury. I was so looking forward to my initial visit with him, as I thought he would get to the root of my foot problem. Instead, he rudely walked out of the exam room, refused to see me, promised to submit a request to my insurance which he never did, and left me in tears in his exam room (I never cry, but this had me in tears being treated like that by a doctor). The staff talked to me when they realized how upset I was. Now 2 months later...no orthotics, going back on his word about submitting a request for them and the staff could care less about my complaints. DON'T GO THERE!!! read more

I am a long-time runner and came to Dr. R. after debilitating neuromas in both feet. Following an orthotic tweak and several rounds of cortisone injections, I am 100% pain free several years later. I couldn't have hoped for a better outcome. And, office staff is excellent in both the Los Alamitos & Seal Beach offices. Dr. Richie made inserts for me for planter's fascistic which were not to the specification that he had stated that they would be. upon notifying Dr. Richie of my desire to get what I was expecting, he initially seemed defensive; however, later stated that he would remake the inserts and of the softer variety which I wanted in the first place based on 2 years prior experience with other inserts. Dr. Richie agreed that he would do that. I replied stating that I would first give the initial set a full chance to work for me. Dr. Richie replied stating to let him know if I had any other issues. After approximately 2 months I replied to Dr. Richie that the inserts did not work out so well and that I wanted to accept his offer to make the soft version. Again, he replied very defensively stating that he does not allow patients to "self prescribe" which made no sense since he had already agreed to make them for me. After I pointed out his prior agreement to make me the softer inserts I received an email from one of his staff - "Dr. Richie has decided to no longer participate in your care". It seems obvious that Dr. Richie has helped many people and for that he should be appreciated. In my case, I feel that Dr. Richie had a highly arrogant and defensive attitude and he did not keep his word, however he did keep my money. read more
