Used my driveway to turn their truck around, ran over my lawn and damaged a sprinkler head. They were not going to stop until I ran out to stop them. Driver was rude and unapologetic. Called manager who only responded by text later that night saying he would call and be out the next day. Never called and did not show up. Have not heard anything from them. Bait and Switch, poor work ethic and foul mouth crew We hired Seagate to remove 2 trees, 1 being especially tough due to location. They gave an initial good price but upon arrive the 4th time to take the tree down the price went from $1700 to $3500 with a crane. The other 2 companies who bid on job said a crane not necessary. When the discussion became pointed, the work crew leader used profane language and walked off job. The owners, John and Steven did not follow through to make it right. After our yard dried out, they were able to get in and do a great job at an affordable price. They were able to remove a crooked tree from between a fireplace and pool with ease, i could have done it, but i wasn't sure i could xonteol where the tree fell. Due to Hurricane damage to several of the large pines in our yard, I called several tree services but wanted to use a local company. Most said they could not even give us an estimate for weeks and not do the work for months! With another tropical storm headed our way this week I was frantic. A representative from Seagate Tree Service came out for an estimate 5 days ago and was here today to do the complete job! So pleased with the care they took felling these huge trees not to do any more damage and they did an amazing job cleaning up. They did a great job on the trees but had asked them to clean our gutters as well. I asked before they left and the second guy in charge said they did them. I tried contacting them before going up two stories because I saw some trash that was there before. No reply. Climbed up there today & they had not been done. The guys came out to my house at about 9 am and completed the work in a quick and efficient manner. They took down a tall diseased pine very close to our newly installed 8 foot fence without any issues at all. They also removed 5 turkey pines in the back corner of my lot and ground up all stumps present on my property that were left from hurricane damage. The young men seemed professional at first. Gave a middle range estimate. The day the trees were taken down, they tried to hurry up and not clean all of the debris agreed upon. They trampled all over my neighbor's lawn, and broke one of their sprinklers. We called Stephen, the owner, whose response was "not the first one we've broken, won't be the last." He told us he would be by to fix it 3 different times, but has not, and apparently will not. He got his money and is now refusing to fix what was broken. Shame on you for taking advantage of a situation (Hurricane Florence). Shame on me for trusting a local company. I passed up out of state tree removal companies at a much lower price as I was afraid to be price gouged and shadiness i received from a couple. I expressed my desire to work with Seagate since they were local and my initial experience with Stephen a while back. I spoke with a gentlemen on the phone several times as well as via text. I informed him of the quote amounts I received and he said don't worry we will take care of it for you. Under the assumption that they would do no wrong I held out for a few more days. Fast forward....I received a text that they were on their way so I met them at the house. The crew, which was the only positive experience, surveyed the area and started cutting it down. Once they were finished I requested an invoice and they said it would be sent to me. From there it went downhill. I texted a few times requesting it and the person on the other end stated he would send it to me that day.....never received. Then requested again and he would have it in the morning....never received. Then 3 days later I receive a statement for the work at a whopping amount of $6500. That's almost 3x the quote I specifically told them about from an out of state tree company. After my text back stating that there seems to be an issue with the invoice. They replied "what is the issue". From there I requested to speak to the owner of the company Stephen. Once he and I spoke he seemed very concerned at first then gave me his "personal" cell phone number to communicate. We spoke again a little later and he went from concerned to extremely rude. He went on to tell me about this $11k job he did and he would've charged more. Then acted like it was no big deal and stated "It doesn't matter what I charge you your insurance company has to pay it". I sent him a quote that I received a while back from him getting 4 trees removed and stump grinding for $850. His response back was "When a tree is on a house it's hazardous and very dangerous, it's not the same as a standing tree in the yard". I understand there are hazards and the situation was a little different but it obviously wasn't that hazardous if the climber/cutter was in shorts, no hard hat and wearing only socks. Yes, in socks for maybe half of the time until he borrowed a coworkers tennis shoes later on. I'm pretty sure that against OSHA regulations. As a matter of fact only one guy had a hard hat on. The cleanup guys were walking below while branches were being tossed down in their location. I never heard a reply back from my text to him. This wasn't a massive tree and thankfully it was just a soft pine as opposed to a hardwood. I accommodated them by allowing them to take my fence down to allow the bobcat to support the tree while they trimmed and laid the rest on my patio. Btw, this was roughly 3 hours and not all day that he stated they were there (remember I was there too). And $500 for debris removal! You brought it to my front yard. Stephen's response "the insurance company allows up to $500 debris removal don't worry FEMA will pick it up". So if the insurance company allowed up to $5000 would you submit it for that? This is why insurance rates are so high because of crooks like you. He also sent a text on the 25th that he was going to send my bill to collections if I didn't pay by Monday 10/29. Sorry, but my statement says due by 10/31 and I will pay then. I just received another text as I am typing this threatening legal action if not paid by Thurs 11/01. I will call to pay in full once I finish this review since today 10/31 is the ACTUAL due date. One more thing....I mentioned to the guy on the phone, before I received the statement mind you, that I had two other trees needed to be taken down at some point and his response was "you should've informed me of that because we would've cut them down and you could've claimed them too". Showed up same day with excellent quote. Came to remove three large pines in a small space between mine and neighbors home. Plus multiple other small trees and shrubs. Work was performed quickly and precisely. His gutter guy came the next morning with a great price to perform my gutter clean out and gutter guard removal and did the work same day. Street and sidewalks were cleaned up like they were never here. Irrigation lines were cut with stump grinder which I feel was pretty much unavoidable. Professional and prompt! I just had Seagate cut down a dead tree next to my house last week. They did a great job for a fair price. Really what more can you say or ask for? The guy I spoke with was Wil and he was just about as nice a guy as you hope to meet. The crew was fast and cleaned up after themselves. I was very happy with the way the job went. Sea Gate was hired by my neighbors to take down trees, they parked in OUR driveway to do the job while we were all away at work. I get a call from my daughter at 4:30 pm telling me they ran over our water pipe and broke it and we have no water. They drove so far off of our driveway that I would think someone would have to be seriously impaired to even drive over where the water main was. They also scraped our electrical box which is rather large. They got their plumber to come out 2+ hours later to fix it. The man on the phone was so rude to me that you would have thought I ran over HIS pipes. UNBELIEVABLE. read more

Reading all these reviews amazes me. I had a tree fall on my roof so I called and emailed a few removal companies, Stephen, the owner of Seagate, was the only one to respond. He came out the same day and was back the next day to take care of that tree and one other. They also ground the stumps up, doing a great job despite being on the chain link fence. The crew was professional, courteous and very pleasant to talk with. The came in, did the job they were hired to do and left my yard as neat as it usually is. I would definitely recommend Seagate Tree Service to friends and I plan on using them again in the future. read more

This business gets a 0. They were contracted to work on my wooded lot leaving only large oak trees per our written agreement. When I came home to the job incomplete I called and the owner, Stephen, who is incredibly unproffesional and he assured me that he would be back in the next week or two as long as I could pay him that day. I did in good faith and for the next 5 weeks had to constantly follow up as they did not answer, wouldn't return calls, set dates to come and then no showed and never called on three separate occasions. I then asked for a refund for the work not completed. I spoke with a very rude woman, Christy, who called me and then proceeded to be hostile about it being a Saturday when they are open on Saturdays. She told me I would be contacted Monday to resolve it and I never was so I called back and left a message. I have been cordial the entire time throughout this ordeal. Stephen then erratically stormed onto my property without permission and with one chainsaw proceeded to cut down trees I asked to be refunded for. He did this unassisted by the two other workers with him in a crazy and sloppy manner. One almost hit my fence and the other tree fell on my house breaking my grill and window screens. When I went outside he proceeded to aggressively scream and curse in my face with a running chainsaw in his hand blaming me for the work not being done and I asked them to stop and leave my property. They continued to work and I had to call the police. These people are dangerous. NEVER HIRE THEM. read more
