As an experienced Permanent Makeup Artist and a Registered Nurse, I must comment on the negative review posted about Michelle Brantley. Michelle made the correct decision to NOT reinforce a lip line mistake done by a previous procedure by another tattoo technician . We are taught to never go beyond the vermillion border of the lip. They are 2 very different skin tissues. One is basically intestional tissue (lips) as it is the beginning of the alimentary canal. The tissue beyond the vermillion is facial skin, much like the rest of the outer body covering. Pigment placed in facial skin will never match pigment placed in lip tissue. The mistake made to Deborah D's lips was made long before she ever stepped foot into SeaChelle's studio. The person who did the original lip tattoo made the mistake. That technician was in error and should have known better. Usually the only reason to exceed the vermillion is to correct a deformity. This woman's lips were not deformed and she clearly has a defined vermillion even thought the previous technician attempted to enlarge the upper lip area. The ending result is that the pigment faded away unevenly and left scar tissue in it's place. Michelle's did what is correct. Leave that area to continue to fade and work on the lip tissue only. As an artist, it is our responsibility to know what should and should not be done. The previous artist clearly did not follow protocol. Michelle's only error was ever agreeing to work on this woman in the first place. Lesson learned Michelle. You are an fabulous artist and everyone in this industry who has seen your work , especially lips, follows you and applauds you. We all have those clients... few and far between. We see them coming , our guts tell us maybe you should just guide them somewhere else or back to the person who did them first...and wish they had just gone somewhere else...you can never make this type of person happy and you never will. Never did I expect to need services such as provided at SeaChelle's. Yet, if it had to be, ecstatic to have found Michelle. She is extremely personable and makes you feel comfortable before you ever even walk in the door. The building is decorated tastefully, a large breast cancer awareness ribbon, landscaping of beautiful blooming bougainvillea, pavers in the driveway and with, naturally, pink parking stops. Her waiting area is filled with cute little trinkets designed to make you feel good and empowered during your battle. She offers mints and candies, perfumes. Soft, feminine touches throughout give you an inkling to her artistry. The permanent makeup process is personalized. You get to select the colors, shapes, sizes you want, or at least think you want. Michelle listens to you and makes suggestions. She takes her time. Ultimately, she allows you to choose, making changes as you go along, having you look in a full length mirror to make sure you are pleased at various stages. Michelle's pleasant demeanor makes the experience truly that--an experience to help you along with your cancer journey. You are even given a goodie gift bag before you leave. Michel was write in every profesional move she did. I been doing Permanent Makeup for 17 years. Yes people should take antiviral for the possibility of getting fiver blisters. Absolutely not going over the vermillion line why And want to continue. because there is tree different kinds of tissue. The semi mucus membrane, the vermillion line, and the skin. The lady looks like having olive skin. It is imposible to deposit pigment in those tree areas at the same time. And for it to look an even color. Debora is wrong in every assumption that she made. The description of your previous artist using a doll instrument is not acurrate. Is that lips should never ever be tattooed over the vermillion line. I am a mature lady. Michelle has done my lips, upper eye liner, and lower eye liner. I feel blessed to have met her. I'm naturally blonde with light blue eyes. Translation: I always looked tired. Michelle and I met a couple of times before she did my permanent make up. I was so scared. She talked to me about how everything felt. She talked to me about colors. She talked to me about the shape of me face. She even talked to me about my cycle, because there's more pain involved around that time of the month. I have no idea why I was afraid.
