The food was made with hearty, wholesome ingredients -- e.g. roast beef sandwich had thick slab of tangy cheese and succulent roast beef, on what appeared to be home baked bread. The gracious owner invited me to sit for my meal at either an indoor or outdoor table. I chose outdoor and enjoyed it. I will think of this place as a stop for future rides, and will try to arrange to come when Boogalow's is open so I can see what their kitchen does in full operation. The place seems to have a regular local clientele, and I can see why.

First time ordering from here, necessitated by me leaving my breakfast and lunch sitting on my…read morekitchen counter instead of bringing it to work. Ugh. Ordered the ham and egg breakfast sandwich on a Portuguese roll, asked to add lettuce but it was not added. No sauce of any kind, so it was super dry. My bad for not asking for a condiment. Ordered a chicken salad wrap for my lunch and it came with a bag of chips. Looks to have been grilled, packaged in a clear plastic clamshell container. Asked for lettuce and onion, and it was included. I think I will attribute the very strange taste and texture to "don't buy chicken salad from a donut shop", my bad. Lastly, ordered a butternut donut (because how can you order from heav'nly donuts, and not order a doughnut?) Unfortunately, I hate shredded coconut and this is covered in semi-toasted coconut. Maybe it's my misunderstanding, but my idea of butternut is the small crunchy yellow "crumbs" like at Dunkin - should be called a coconut donut? (but I guess it's different at each donut place.) I apologize for comparing this place to DD! All tolled, I'd give it a 4 (if I could it'd be a 4.5) and would like to try other items in the future.

I thought I was okay to get freezer food, but the freezer food that I picked up was completely defrosted and squishy. The temperature in the freezer food section where I was was 55° and 45°. Then when I said that he was making me anxious and I was just trying to show him the products, he said thank you and smiled at me with a Blank Stare and then walked away. It was really weird and gross. We won't be going back to that particular location because Market Basket is great but not in newburyport.
