He was thorough, professional, and attentive throughout the visit. He even took the time to ask whether I had any concerns that he hadn't already addressed, which I truly appreciated. Beyond my experience with Dr. Hopper, I was especially impressed that the practice has its own mammography equipment on site. For years, I've had to schedule a separate appointment at a diagnostic center and then wait for the results to be sent back to my gynecologist. Having everything handled in one location is incredibly convenient and a major plus for me. I was also grateful that they were able to fit me in for a mammogram at the last minute. Kelsey was friendly, accommodating, and made the entire process quick and comfortable. She kindly worked me in just before her lunch break, which I greatly appreciated. She easily could have asked me to wait (a whole hour) or rescheduled me for another day, but instead she went out of her way to help. From the physician to the support staff, everyone I encountered was professional, courteous, and genuinely caring. I cannot say enough great things about this office. I'm like help me... he does his exam( which consists of him sticking his finger in my vagina and swirls it around... sniffs it then wipes it on a Petri dish) looks at my discharge on a microscope says there's nothing there. Then proceeds to give me the same medication I told him didn't work. He didn't send any sample in for testing. I thought maybe he wants to see for himself that this medication doesn't work. I see him a few times get the same medicine the same type of exam. Then at my last visit he says he's tried everything. He then looks me dead in my face a says " you are very heavy and smell is going to happen unfortunately. the winter is coming so the smell should go away. want to see you back in 6 months." Then sends me on way. Come to find out I went to a different GYN and I have something called AV. So it's not because I'm fat... I'm really not even heavy. So go somewhere else do not see this asshole. Not once did he send ANYTHING IN for testing. He basically fingered me, sniffed it and wiped it on a dish.... How is that even remotely okay. I was so desperate for a solution, I ignored the red flags. Please there are better doctors out there. Don't go to this practice.

However he prescribed medicine which he knew I was allergic to and was not happy about my asking for a different prescription to be sent to a pharmacy that could provide what was needed. He had seen me previously and knowing I needed a follow up as a previous cancer patient, said he didn't have time to examine me. They said they were closing in December but I was trying to get an appt. in the summer! I told the staff I could see one of the nurses or pa's but they would not accomodate me. Without my permission he sent my file to a different doctor located in a different city. This doctor never called me and I was not interested in seeing him. When I asked for my file they wanted to charge me per page and said I had to come to Ocala to get it! Finally, they agreed to send it to me. They had a sign hanging on their wall which was their supposed mission statement that "we are all friends here etc". They certainly failed to live up to their claims.

I arrived about 15-20 minutes early to my appointments where I was greeted by the nicest receptionist. She could tell right away something was wrong with my granddaughter and took the time to pull her aside and talk with her. I'm not sure what she said to her but after leaving their talk my granddaughter no longer looked scared or even worried. She was like a whole new person after speaking with her. He has been recommended to me by a number of people and have heard only one person complain about Sharon, the mid-wife because the person thought Sharon had no bed-side manner - but said that Sharon was the one who delivered her baby and she was thrilled with Sharon then. I am a mandatory c-section - in Marion County with only one L&D hospital in the entire county - apparently all doctor's have agreed if you've had one c-section, you no longer have the choice to try a VBAC. I was very disappointed by this, but I must admit that is not Dr. Johnson's fault. I have also personally never had any problems with Sharon. She is not a touchy-feely-emotional-type lady, but she is to the fact and will answer any questions you have. The Ultra-Sound technician is FABULOUS. Dr. Johnson now has a new P.A. and she is wonderful as well. So, if you want touchy-feely you can always find it with them. I was slightly disappointed in the office when I was 36 weeks pregnant and had concerns and requested was sent for a fetal non-stress test. Although the test came back fine, I still felt I wanted an ultra-sound to take a look and ensure everything was visually sound as well. The office pushed back - a lot - told me they don't do 'reassurance ultra-sounds' - but finally agreed to let me pay out of pocket to have an ultra-sound completed to have all bases covered to ensure the health of my baby. When I went in the office to handle this, I was concerned there would be some attitude because of my insistence, but everyone was friendly and all-smiles. I have only seen Dr. Johnson 3-4 times throughout my visits, but part of that issue is my schedule availability for appointments only being on days he's not in the office. Other than that, I have really enjoyed the experience of seeing a doctor who is the only doctor in the office. My first son, I was using an office with maybe about 10 doctors and you never saw the same doctor twice. They wanted you to rotate out because you never knew who was going to deliver you. I'm surprised my c-section is scheduled the day before my due date only because they said it would be scheduled a week before. But, apparently they have a large number of women having to be scheduled those couple of weeks. So, I'm not going to be upset about having the opportunity to let my child fully develop. And I'm only hoping I don't go into labor early only because I don't know who will be on call, who will do my surgery, and I would rather the doctor be well-rested and expecting me than being called off of the golf-course!

In the meantime, I am waiting in their waiting room with no internet , no texts can be received or sent , no business can be run from your phone, your entire life & business is on hold until you can get out of that office and out of THAT complex ( 17th street Medical Plaza ). The waiting room was CHOCK FULL of LARGE pregnant women. The door was constantly being opened & closed..., but an hour & 1/2 of WAITING.. you stare at the wall or the ceiling ... it wasn't YOU ( meaning me ) that was going to be called to the back. I tried to send a message to my friend to tell them that I was unfortunately going to be late. That message was unable to be sent. The "failed to send" message showed up. There are patients, sitting in that waiting room, who MUST have their fully communications with their husband & especially with their children. It could be a matter of life or death. I have a business to run, from my phone and my phone alone. If I don't answer right away ... I miss a sale. If you want to put your entire life & business on hold while you are simply waiting for the doctor... then go to this doctor. Also, There is a 75% chance that you will NOT be seen by Dr Marquette himself. He has nurse practitioners and midwives he can delegate MOST of his duties to. Unless you request the doctor... you will not get the doctor. The turn over ratio of doctor to patient is extremely high. If you are looking for more personalized service, this is not the doctors office for you.

In July 2024, after my pregnancy became high-risk, I was referred and transferred to Shands in Gainesville. At that point, I began requesting that my insurance claims be processed and the balance of my pre-payments refunded for services not rendered. Since September 2024, I have been calling the office regularly and have been told the same thing over and over--that everything is processed, and that I am simply waiting for Dr. Marquette to sign the reimbursement check. Nearly a year later, nothing has been resolved. Despite my patience and numerous attempts to work with the office, the reimbursement I am owed has not been issued. This lack of follow-through and accountability is extremely unprofessional. Patients should not have to spend months chasing down money that rightfully belongs to them. Unfortunately, my experience with this office has been one of unnecessary stress, lack of communication, and unfulfilled promises. I would caution anyone considering this office to be aware of how they handle financial matters.
