Some very nice basketball and tennis courts as well as a lovely gazebo for picnics and very gentle hiking trails with soft pine needles are found within the park. The park is situated right next to the 22 mile Cape Cod Rail Trail that goes through several towns and meanders down to the ocean for those intrepid enough to brave the chilly water to take a dip. The fact that the bike path goes through towns means it easy to stop and load up with liquid or better yet ice cream. The park is well used during the summer months and is also used for X-country skiing and snow shoeing in the winter. A lovely park to enjoy some activities or just find a peaceful and quiet corner for some relaxing and reflection.

The path itself is in great condition. It is shaded for almost all of the section we did. The pavement is mostly smooth - any bumps from roots underneath are spray painted yellow so you see they are coming. On the section we rode, the sides are not overgrown so there is room to move over for others passing. Other riders and users were all friendly and respectful- ringing bells or announcing their approach. We rode about 7 miles East from our parking spot, taking a nice break for lunch at Seymour Pond. Some of our party went swimming! We were all thankful for the plentiful bike racks, many benches, and a clean porta-potty. This was definitely a highlight of our time on Cape Cod.

Most of the trees are pines so the hiking is very soft because of the pine needles, and the smell of the pine trees and ocean mixing together is wonderful. Scrago Lake is a whole lot warmer than the always cold as @#$% direct ocean beaches of Cape Cod Bay and usually much, much calmer. A nice place to bring the family and little kids when you don't want them to drown, get washed out to sea, or get eaten by giant kraken. There is a fee for parking cars during the summer but if you happen to know someone in the area they'll probably have a sticker and you can bum a ride with them. There is no charge if you bike or walk and in the off season you can park anywhere you want.
