Mike, the owner, does magnificent massage and reflexology work, and I emerge from his sessions feeling like a new person! The prices are great, too. I went to this establishment after reading about their camber for treating altitude sickness, and paid for a one hour treatment. I expected a hyperbaric chamber with oxygen concentration, but instead they had me climb into what was essentially a plywood box, which they say pressurized to sea level. I asked upon climbing out what the oxygen concentration level was, and was informed that they don't add oxygen to the chamber at all... "not necessary, and you should feel better for up to 5-6 days." Hmmm.... I felt moderately better that evening, and was back to being sick the very next day. A wasted $60. read more

I have had reflexology all over the world and who knew that Created Butte, Colorado would have one of the best! If your coming in from sea level 30 minutes of O2 can change your day. If your headachy or nauseous it can really help your symptoms. So the massage work and the oxygen are wonderful but don't miss the hyperbaric chamber and the infrared sauna. Truly change your day if not your week around. There are lots of alternative treatments available and Mike and his staff are just fantastic. This is an equally amazing place to drop in for some oxygen and other altitude-recovery treatments, or for some body work. Today I booked forty minutes of chair massage, 30 mins of foot acupressure l, and I got oxygen while he worked on my feet. For what was a very reasonable tab, it brought immense value. Mike is the best deep tissue masseuse I have ever had, and I walked out of there a different person. Don't waste your money on the big resort spas - get some real work done right in town! read more

I found this place while we were driving through town looking for a health food store. I'm a bit of a spa junkie so my eyes instantly zeroed in on the "Spa" in the name. For once in my life I was actually excited to see that this was not your typical spa. Underneath the name it was mentioning something about an Oxygen Bar. The timing could not have been more perfect, as I was actually heading to the health food store to pick up something for my husband who was having issues with the altitude. (We live in Los Angeles at Sea Level) I popped in to check hours and prices. The owner, a nice man with a calming peaceful energy, was very helpful in explaining treatment options. Most of the options run $1 a minute. They have an Oxygen bar where you sit in comfy chairs with the little Oxygen tubes up your nose. The guy recommended my husband do a Hyperbolic Chamber, which you sit or lay down in a little room that has a bunch of Oxygen pumped into it. He said this treatment should make my husband good for the rest of the week because it forces the Oxygen into the muscles, etc. There is a 30 minute minimum, he suggested we do an hour but said my man could be good with 45 since we seemed a little unsure of this treatment. My husband said the treatment kind of felt like being on an airplane, his ears kept popping. After the treatment he felt a million times better. We went to our family dinner and he seemed to be back to his old self. Unfortunately, the treatment did not seem to treat my husband long-term and we took him to the ER in Gunnison later that night. When they checked his O2 level he was at 94% - which is actually pretty good so the Hyperbolic may have really helped out with that. Unfortunately, even though his vitals were okay he still felt like crap. At the ER they gave him some pills that were supposed to help. Not so much. After we came home from the ER my husband still had problems sleeping and was complaining about tingling in his hands and feet. He was completely miserable and we were going to head back to Gunnison to get to lower altitude. We decided to make a quick stop at Sea Level Spa for some O2. The owners were very sweet and helpful. We started with the O2 bar. After 15 minutes the guy suggested we try the "Life Force Amplifier," which the menu describes as "An Electro-Magnetic Frequency device that emits a broad spectrum of high frequency energy which resonate with the body's own bio-electric fields." He said it should help with healing, restoring, and basically shaking up the cells to work better or something. To be honest, he probably could have sold me Tic Tacs as magic pills and we would have tried it. Luckily, they seemed more interested in getting my man better than making a buck. He did that machine for about 20 minutes. This place offers a day pass for $70 where you have unlimited access to all of the O2, Hyperbaric Chamber and machines. This would be a great deal if you were doing the Hyperbaric Chamber - we probably would have done this deal if we had noticed it the first day. They suggested that my husband walk around to see if he feels any improvement and if he wanted to come back later for more treatment we could just upgrade to the Day Pass and pay the difference at that time. Props for not pushing us to get the pass that second! Unfortunately my husband kept feeling awful. It turned out some of his biggest complaints were side effects from the medicine the ER sent him home with. At this point we decided to just head back to my parents house in Colorado Springs. While my husband seemed to be an extreme, difficult case, I would definitely suggest this for visitors to Crested Butte are suffering from altitude sickness. If you don't feel better, then go down to Gunnison where the altitude is reasonably lower. read more

First time up to Crested Butte and went hard exploring everything it has to offer my first day... only to end up getting smacked hard with altitude sickness. My boyfriend went looking for remedies while I laid curled in a ball unable to move and found this gem! I went in for a quick 30 minute oxygen session and came out feeling better than ever! The owner was super sweet and I enjoyed chatting with him throughout the session. He explained how it worked and gave me tips on how to make sure I stay feeling my best throughout my trip. I was visiting Crested Butte for a family wedding. I used to live in Telluride many years ago, so I knew that the altitude might be an issue. I don't remember anything like this being available when I lived in Telluride, so I was excited to see these services available. I know that the altitude can really take someone out. I decided to give it try. Staff was super nice and helpful. It was nice that they took walk-ins. The chairs were simple but comfortable. A couple of ladies were getting foot massages during their time with the oxygen. I was impressed by the hyperbaric chambers. If I were having a true issue, I'd definitely try them. They were set up very nicely and seemed cozy. I only got about 20 minutes instead of the 30 minute recommendation. It was nice to get a little O2 to rejuvenate. I had a 60-minute deep tissue massage with Mike, and I can honestly say that it was the best massage in my life! He got right to my problem areas and really got in there. He even took time afterwards to teach me some stretches that would be helpful for me. I only wish I had booked a longer session! I happened upon the Sea Level Spa while talking to a friend about altitude sickness. I went in and tried the oxygen bar, that night I sleep well and did not have an altitude headache for several days. At that point I went back and took advantage of the all day/ unlimited machine access. I had driven from Texas to Colorado and my hip was out of place from the trip. I was able to use a great treatment that realigned my back and put my hip back in place. I found the staff very kind and helpful, taking the time to answer my questions about the benefits of the different treatments available. Thanks for the help! Nice little place on Elk. Opened just a month or so ago. They offer a lot of alternative therapies and is unlike the typical "spa" at a hotel(in a very good way). I got 10 minutes on the Life force magnifier and the Chi Machine. From traveling to Crested butte my Sciatic pain has flared up. I woke up in screaming agony at 2am and had to take pain medication to be able to sleep. I scheduled a massage for a few days from now, and decided to try this treatment because it seemed less invasive or agravating for my sciatic pain. It was wonderful! I was skeptic of the "Life force magnifier" at first, but after I got used to the zapping sounds it was very relaxing and felt like vibrational waves passing through my body. Afterwards I did the Chi machine which holds your ankles and moves you from side to side. By moving from the ankles the whole rest of the joints in the body move, and you can relax areas that are in constant tension. After 10 minutes when he stopped the machine, I felt like I was floating above my body, tingling buzzing all over my skin. I skipped the O2 therapy because I'm from Breckenridge(10K feet), but they look like they have a wonderful set up for that. The hallways from/to the massage rooms is small, and their ceiling needs some draping to hide the office like interior, but otherwise they've done a great job to create a healing space, with nice lighting, and plenty of options for alternative healing therapies. $1 a minute for most treatments, and $75 an hour for massage. I'm going to go back to get a massage and to try out the chi machine again this week! read more

Visited Crested Butte for 4 days of skiing. On the first night, my 14 year old got sick and passed out. Found this place online. Mike was fantastic. I called to see what time they opened, but there way no answer (around 6am). Around 7:30 I received a call from Mike saying to come on in (even though they didn't open until 9). After an hour in the chamber, my daughter was much better. Ended up purchasing the family pass (with NO pressure - had to ask about it to find out details - no pushy sales here). That evening, my husband came with us to oxygen (and I think to entertain me). Talking with Mike, we realized he could help with my husbands feet (plantar fasciitis). After one treatment, my husband couldn't believe the difference and ended up going back all four nights we were there. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. We have decided to go back next winter and having this spa available to help us with altitude issues was part of the decision. They are that good!! read more

This place was incredible & the owner, Mike, has such a kind nature & relaxing energy about him. My husband & I did the chair massage with Mike & 30 minutes of oxygen each. We both agreed that the chair massage was one of the best massages that we'd ever had (even a couple of days later we still feel great!) & that the 30 minutes of oxygen left us feeling really rejuvenated. Mike is Legit. This place is a live saver. I recently went to Crested Butte for a wedding. I was hurting bad the second day due to the altitude. Your #1 altitude sickness cure! I was a little leary about the claims and especially the little dog house O2 houses, but I am a 100% in appreciation of this spa. I had migraines, could not breathe, was tired, not sleeping and had horrible stomach issues. I was sick and not enjoying my vacation. I spent 1 hour in the spa, took a nap while I got the hyperbaric treatment and feel so much better. I was able to go downhill biking several times up the lift to the top, no issues. 2 long hikes, 8+ miles and am enjoying this beautiful town! Visited crested Butte this month and got terrible altitude sickness! Desperate for any relief I walked into this place and it was magical..oxygen bar, hyperbaric chambers , infrared sauna some kind of electrical thingy and massage. I think I went back 3 days in a row. it helped me so much i have fibromyalgia too and it helped with that pain too.
