Our front porch on our 1939 home had a fascia of brick that was loose and falling off. The…read moreflagstone on top had begun to crack apart without enough support under it. After I removed it, I found that most of the block support behind that was also loose or missing. I put in a call to several contractors for quotes. Brickworks was the first to respond and came up with an innovative repair plan. All others immediately said the whole porch would need replaced at almost 2x Brickworks quote. Decided to take a chance and was quite pleased. They repaired the structure, installed new fascia brick and were able to salvage some flagstone pieces to repair the surface of the porch. Everything was coated with waterproofing. However, when they were done they did an amazing cleanup and even repaired and seeded a few sq ft of damaged grass and reinstalled mulch around the porch. You would never have known that they were there except for the fact that the porch looked amazing. This work was done last year. It weathered great during the winter. I've always meant to post a review but never got around to it. I'd get a guilty feeling every time I'd see their trailer. Today I couldn't take it any more and just had to post. Would recommend them without reservation!

Highly recommended, would absolutely use them again! Aaron…read moreHinzman and his team built a new 500sf 2nd story Trex deck for us, in the dead of winter, and it is absolutely stunning. If you've ever worked with contractors, you'll find an entire spectrum of personalities and workmanship. It is always a risk to take that leap of faith, and we're grateful we found Michigan's Best Deck Builders. Our story: Aaron came over to give us an estimate and scope of work. He was incredibly meticulous and methodical with his quote and sketch from the start. He answered all of our questions with confidence and he was very calm (not salesy/pushy). We continued to take several weeks to obtain 5 additional quotes from other deck builders in the area. There are some great ones out there with big names, flashy marketing, and superstar type-A personalities, and competitive "we'll beat any quote" pricing, and they all made us feel very comfortable, no complaints. Here's where Michigan's Best Deck Builders stood out: Aaron runs a tight ship and doesn't outsource his work to a 3rd party team. He was on our job every day and built our deck himself, with his own dedicated crew. There was never a time that he didn't return a text or a phone call within a few hours and was on top of the schedule. We never had to ask or question anything. That said, his quote was not the cheapest, but we unanimously chose him as he was incredibly reliable and the service quality was meticulous from quote to finish. That's not something we found to be common these days; and if you've had to deal with chasing contractors, you'll value reliability and quality over all. The deck is beautiful and the experience was absolutely stellar. -Highly recommended!

Bizarre, to say the least. I wound up agreeing to a much simpler design just to get it over with and surprise, the finished product looks like crap. They also tried to use obviously chipped bricks, as though no one would notice. Amazing, and not in a good way.
