The installation crew were a cheerful lot, extremely hardworking, polite and a pleasure to be around. They were running up and down between the attic and external heat pump, perhaps fifty times, with us hardly inconvenienced or even noticing. They had someone out the very next day. $79 for inspection/diagnostic & essentially waived if you move forward with fixing the problem with them. Eric was our tech. I had been getting quotes to have our furnace, AC and ductwork replaced and was blown away by some of the numbers I was getting back from some of the more mainstream companies. SDAC was recommended to me by a neighbor so I called, and they came out to inspect and give me a quote on the same day. The quote itself saved us several thousands of dollars which we definitely appreciated, but the company was super responsive and had good availability, so all our work was completed in such a short period of time. The crew itself was no-nonsense, and everything was completed by the end of the day. There ended up being an issue with a part on the furnace, but a technician, Erick (who walked us through the whole process from the beginning and was super helpful), was able to come out the same day to get it fixed. The reason I'm giving 4 stars is because I was originally scheduled Monday afternoon and upon my calling the company, I found out the tech couldn't make it until Tuesday. I was okay with that. Then on Tuesday, after a few phone calls and after the scheduled time window (10am-12noon) elapsed, I was told he would be there in the afternoon. So my frustration is just with the scheduling. I needed AC installed. I got 4 quotes thru yelp. They were the best price for a good brand- Bryant by Carrier. They installed a new heater too because it was from 1987 and the blower is used by the AC. The slim profile is quiet and doesn't take up a lot of space. They did a clean install on the wall because the concrete is bad. Installed new ducts because old ones had degraded shell. They offered to wrap the old ducts to save money, which was a nice option other companies didn't offer. Good explanations by guy who gave the quote. No pressure sale. read more

I've had a local company install my mini split ductless A/C and did a poor job. 2 months later, there is a refrigerant leak. We had other quotes, but decided to go with SDAC because: - Their tech (Dima) was sharp, communicative, on time for the visit to do the estimate and also took photos that he shared with me of our ducts being bent - hugely appreciate the extra (and super fast) response to my request to send me the photo he took when he was on our roof! Super nice guy and very knowledgable. - When we realized that our heating was not working (because it was apparently switched to electric vs. gas, by another vendor), they were able to come out very quickly to get our heat on and the cost was very reasonable and the tech was super nice and helpful! - They were around $1,500. less expensive to do the duct replacement. - Harrison sent me a text with a link where I could pay the deposit, and then the final payment, very easily, with one click. No checks, or mailing of contract - and responded immediately when we had the additional need to check our heating when it wasn't going on. - And MOST IMPORTANTLY - they were able to get it done today. Not in 4 - 5 weeks, but within ONE week, which was so important to us because the ducts were leaking into our house every time it rained. I LOVE this team and highly recommend them! read more

Beware of being treating unprofessionally AFTER hiring this company... I forgot to write a review from a service I did with this company May of last year bc I was very pregnant at that point. But was reminded of the horrid experience I had when the same tech came to my brother's house today...he was short, rude, huffing and sighing, and down right condescending--just as he was when he came to my house. I went with this company bc of the reviews, and during my consultation the owner came out on a weekend and took all the COVID precautions very seriously and cleaned up after himself, and was fairly responsive to emails. I even went with this company instead of another that costed a couple hundred less. It goes downhill from there... They "fixed" the problem, which they said was a duct that was disconnected. The ac still did not work after that. Not only did they accidentally take my husband's tools (we saw it in our cameras--which sure could be a honest mistake--they ended up never fixing the problem. The owner sent out the same guy that returned the drills to look at the system again. The tech ultimately said that we need to replace the whole system for $7k, this is after I already spent almost $2k...He said there was a coolant leak that can't be fixed, and to just change the system. I understand my system is from the 80s and prob did need to be updated, but I was hoping the owner would do what he promised, to "do everything we can to get it fix for you". After said and done, I reached out to another, less known smaller company. They said that if u didn't have the funds to replace the entire system right now, we can fill the coolant and see how that goes. It's a temp fix, but better than nothing. My ac still works, almost a year later with this SIMPLE fix. I was so heated when I saw this same tech again at my brothers house, still being short, rude, and belittling.. i wish I would have known my brother had someone coming so I could tell him NOT to hire this company. So here I am sharing my story so those looking into this company can be aware. We are dealing with enough with this pandemic, don't need to waste our time, energy, and money to be treated poorly/just be another invoice. read more

The quick review for the lazy readers: They do good work. They dont try to nickel and dime you or sell you something you dont need. They are honest people. The longer version: It's almost 2 year from our AC installation on a pre-existing heater system. (We also upped the size of the heat pump and added a duct facing the master bedroom because original system was probably installed before the master bedroom add on). So far so good. The master bedroom doesnt get the full advantage of the AC/heater system, but that's not the SDAC fault. They warned me that it wasnt going to be the same as having a duct inside the room. The extra duct outside of the room pointing towards the room definitely helps though. A maintenance guy came last year to do a free preventative maintenance. He was very thorough and answered my questions while he was working. Yesterday, i had the ac coils cleaned. They werent that dirty, so they charged me less than they originally quoted. SWEET! Tangent story: A few months back, the solar installation guy was looking for the grounding something or other and he looked in the AC closet. He commented that the AC company that we chose was very good with their work. He said he could tell by how the everything was laid out and how clean it all looked. I dont know how any of that stuff is suppose to look. I figure it must be good if the solar guy is commenting on it. The solar guy was really into layouts. He said he made sure to run the solar conduits along the edges of the house so they wouldnt stand out. Horrible service, but good product and very affordable. I waited over a year to give a review because I had mixed feelings. Dan I enjoyed our interactions very much but your installers were the worst. Let's start with the important thing, child safety. The Russian guys never closed the door after themselves. My 1 year old son had just become a prolific walker and the Russians would leave the door wide open when they walked out of the house. I had to close the door after them every time. You think they would get the idea that, hey I have a 1 year old who will book it into the street in the blink of an eye, let's be safe and keep the front door closed. The Hispanic guys were much smarter and they quickly learned to close the door but not the other guys. The Hispanic workers were the only reason I didn't kick the entire team out of my house. The Russians broke my fence in order to get a 3/4" drain pipe to the outside of my fence. I had a a circle drill bit they could have used to make a perfect circle but instead they just broke a piece of the board off. They were sloppy painting and got paint on my glass door molding. I offered them masking tape but they declined. They literally never smiled or said a word making me feel very uncomfortable in my own home. I bought them pizza for lunch but they didn't even touch it. And it was good pizza too from mountain Mike's. That's just disrespectful. At least take a piece home or throw it away to trick me into feeling appreciated. The Hispanic guys were the complete opposite, they were friendly and communicated with me the entire time. I hope you're paying them more than the other guys. What I've learned in my years of managing people, clients and reading books about customer service is that customer service is about the way you make people feel and the experience that they receive with your product or service. You don't have to be the best, but as long as you're people's favorite because you leave them feeling good about their experience with you, they will keep coming back. People like doing business with their friends. If I say that a Lexus is the best car,we can debate that all day, but if I say a Lexus is my favorite car, there's no arguing with that. Customer service is about making people love you. Dan I would welcome you into my home any day. But Hopefully I never need my air conditioning serviced because your installers can never set foot in my house again. If my son were to get hit by a car I would never forgive you. I now have a 1 year old daughter and we are expecting another in June. And I know you have kids of your own so you must understand how I feel. I actually have a lot of good things to say but it's just overshadowed by all of the negative. You came by on the final walk and I tried to explain these things to you but you seemed to blow it off.
