Our daughter was very nervous about singing at the camp, but after the first day, she was excited to create her unique song, and make it through. Prince was the camp director, and such a positive influence for all students. By the third day of camp, all students had recorded their own unique song. Day 4, they had a professional photo shoot to create a cover for their new single. Day 5 they wrote a biography, which they presented with their final song and cover art. These were also posted on Reverbnation.com for others to enjoy like a real professional musicia. All students songs and art came out beautiful. We highly recommend this camp to anyone looking to expand their music career.

Even adding money to the snack shack card is easy. I've also been put on the wait list a few times and had no problem with that proecss. On Thursdays, there's limited parking and they literally wait at the sidewalk helping get the kids in quickly so you don't get a ticket. The people here are a total class act and really seem to love what they do. My kids come home FILTHY and raving about their teachers: Puddles, Butterfly, Scooby, Walrus, Ant to name a few that I can remember this week :) They also love the archery, the arts and crafts, and of course, the snack shack. Newt, I beleive runs the place. He greets the kids with such enthusiasm and respect and kindness. We even had an incident with our older kid last year and received a phone call explaining the situation with my kiddo right there. He was firm, authoratative, explained what needed to be done next time, but completely appropriate and at the same time reassuring to my son that they were on the same team and in the end, all was good. Did my son cry? Yes. He also clearly got the point, has not made the same mistake, and still loves going to Camp. It was handled perfectly and I really appreciated it. I've seen a handful of comments from several years back with bad reviews about customer service. This was before my time, but I can say those reviews feel foreign to the experience I've had here for now 2 summers. Can't recommend this place enough.

You could throw a rock and hit Bud Kearns. Anyway, The Director, Rus is great. The kids adore him and respect and enjoy his whole staff. There are a lot of field trips, at least one each week. Oh, and a ton of swimming. The kids get a ton of fresh air, sunshine and exercise. They also get a healthy amount of free time for just chilling out and enjoying summer... playing games, crafts, ball games, hanging out with friends.

The facilities are pretty well maintained and I've come to play sports on all of the different available fields here. The outdoor Basketball Are probably the least well maintained because the concrete has many cracks and the hoops are bent out of shape. The indoor court is smaller than a Full court but is in very good shape. The 3 tennis courts outside are very well maintained and have seating area on the sidelines sidelines with shade. The baseball field field goes in-and-out of good maintenance depending on how the grass is kept up. Most of the time it is pretty good and there are Vavi leagues that are hosted here frequently.

I am glad that at least the courts here are free for the public to use (ahem Balboa Tennis Club ahem), and that is the only reason why this is not a one star review. However the courts themselves are terrible. The top gritty layer of the baseline area is eroded away from years of use, leaving behind a slippery surface that is dangerous to play on. Half the tennis court nets are broken at the top tape part, often allowing the ball to pass through even though it should have gone into the net. Finally, the hours that the courts are unlocked for the public are terrible as well, during business hours on weekdays and closed on the weekends. How am I supposed to play when the only time they are open is when I am at work? Also the park can get pretty sketchy at night time, so I would only come here in the daytime.

Girl Scouts does so much for my daughters character and confidence. She is making friends that i believe will be with her for the rest of her life. Most of our troop is also in our YMCA Adventure princess tribe too =) I can't even say that one organization is better than the other...they are both amazing for my daughter! i went to the girl scout store finally and my daughter got to pick out some fun patches for her vest. So happy that i did that! made her vest even more fun.

My main purpose for having my daughter to take this dance class is not only her enjoying dancing but also having her able to follow teacher's instruction and pay attention / listen to what teacher is saying while is not her turn to speak. Mrs. Laura is very patient with children and good at getting their attention as well. My daughter absolutely enjoys dancing at SDCAP and loves Mrs. Laura, she said that she did not want to go any other dance class but Mrs. Laura's. Recently she also started taking pre-drama class after having participated Year2015 spring production of "Wizard of Oz" and played a role as Mini-munchkin. I was so impressed how well the entire production turned out and also what is touched my heart was that my daughter played fairly well, I was concerned about how she would do at the stage as I had have seeing her at practice classes, she did not seem like she was getting it, but from begging to the end, she danced and sang perfectly. At the pre-drama class, I'm hoping that my daughter will gain the ability of speaking clearly and be confident at front of people. I cannot make her stop talking or listen to me when she is with me, but she gets extremely shy speaking at front of people, she mumbles and people don't know what she is saying. At pre-drama class, she has to speak clearly and sometimes requires her to speak her opinion at front of her lesson mates. This is her 2nd months of pre-drama class, but she has been enjoying every class she has taken so far and she seems more confident about herself and comfortable speaking her opinions. and not to mention, Mrs. Laura's tuition is very reasonable and affordable!!

I made the huge mistake of trying to promote this place with my friend/relatives through YouTube videos on Facebook and I got paid by Laura "reporting me" on YouTube ... (if one gets reported 3 times, they cancel your YouTube account), instead of telling me to take out the videos. UNGRATEFUL ! 6. Because of the negative environment and Laura's not being capable of keeping good instructors, tardiness, poor relations and drama, "many" children decided they did not want to continue. Run !!!

I had a wonderful evening at the National Comedy Theatre. This was my first improv show ever, but…read moreas a huge Who's Line is It Anyways fan, I knew I was in for a treat. The theatre is small and tucked away near a British pub. Parking is rough on the busy streets but we found a spot in the residential area nearby. We arrived close to the start of the show, so there was not a long wait to check in. The process was quick and they sell reasonably priced popcorn and drinks in the entryway. They do open seating in the very small, intimate theater. The show started promptly and the energy was so fun. The host was high energy and both teams gave it their all. Essentially, the two teams compete against each other with the voting being done by audience cheers. I'm glad to say that the team I was rooting for won! Throughout the show, they would often invite audience participation but they do not force it on anyone, and it is all very good natured. Time flew by and there was a 15 min intermission in the middle. The bathroom is outside the theater and there were staff member standing by to direct lost patrons. At the end of the show, the cast members stood by the exit to chat, and accept congratulations and high-fives as we left. I had a great first live comedy experience at the National Comedy Theatre, and I would love to attend more of their shows in the future!
