Reserved a truck for a one way move. The day before my move, I received a call from SCV Party Rental notifying me they did not have the truck available. They offered a much larger truck and advised I would have to return it. My reservation was for one way. I had no plan on returning. I told him that was not acceptable. They could not honor my reservation and then had the nerve to charge me $150 as a "No show". I called to ask why and the man that answered lied and said I hung up on him without resolving the issue. That didn't happen. We had an entire conversation about this that he seems to have forgotten about. Budget did a little investigating and returned my money. I would do business with Budget again, but SCV Party Rental is a no go. Unreliable and dishonest. Steer clear if you do not have a flexible moving date or need a one way rental. read more

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT do business with this man Jim or SCV party rentals company!! Very unprofessional! Ordered tables and chairs for my daughters baby shower, the day before called to see what time they would be delivered. No call, no text, no email back. Next morning, ( day of ) still hadn't got a delivery time. I called, I texted, I emailed and no answer. Now I'm panicking! After calling numerous of times Jim finally picked up! I asked him about the delivery and his response was... " I tired to contact you Thursday!" ( only sent a invoice about payment) NO CALL, NO EMAIL, NO NOTHING about anything else. I mentioned that and his response is, "while I'm 75 years old what you want me to do...!!" Bottom line, at the very last minute he balled on us and had NO regard! This man Jim (company) ruined my daughters baby shower! It was on a Sunday and most companies are closed to quickly get other supplies! Do NOT rent a truck from SCV. First off the office is a complete hoarders disorganized fire hazard mess. That should have been my sign to not give them a credit card. Jim asks that you "Top Off" the fuel. He states that if he can not see the fuel at the top of the chain you will be charged. We made sure the fuel was completely topped off. Took it to the Chevron right next door prior to dropping off. It took 4 extra gallons to top off. They called to say that it was not full. Even though Jim asked for the fuel receipt with the key. I spoke to Jim and he stated it was 10-15 gallons short. Which there was no way possible. We overfilled to were it leaked out on my hand. Jim stated he was going to charge for the fuel. They also charged us for 2 days extra that we didn't even have the truck. They also did an additional charge on top of the hold for deposit. I called the corporate Budget. They stated they would give a credit. As of yet no credit only an additional charge! As in the state of California it is illegal to Top Off. We have rented trucks from numerous truck companies and have never dealt with anything like this. Then the next day we had another charge from Budget. I should have read the reviews prior. As other reviewers state that Jim seems to scam people. DO NOT RENT ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE. We will be filling a complaint with BBB as well. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I wanted to order chairs and tables for my wedding party. Jim called me back and told me to pay him cash the day of so he didn't have to pay fees. The week of the party I called numerous times and texted to try and get a response to confirm what day the tables and chairs would be dropped off. I got a clueless response and him telling me that he had outpatient surgery. I then got a call on my wedding day confirming a time to drop off the tables. I told his employee who called me I was forced to go with another company in the valley due to the lack of Jim's responses. After my wedding party Jim and his employee called me asking when they could pick up their chairs and tables because they needed them back????? I called the employee and told him no chairs or tables were ever dropped off, his employee apologized. This company is horrible and unprofessional. Look at the pictures as evidence. Rented a moving van in Chicago to make our move to Santa Clarita. Oh my this business sucks! Their drop off procedure is horrendous. The box slot is too small for a current sized Ford remote key. We called Budget who says they don't offer after hours drop off which clearly they do based on the box with the too small slot and the provided piss poor directions on the nearby sign. We went around front contrary to directions and dropped the van key and contract in their front door mail slot. Called the next morning to confirm they got the keys and the guy Jim told my husband he had "too much shit to do" (his exact words) and that he would call us back. Never did. Go anywhere but this place for pickup or drop off. Horrible procedures and super unprofessional workers. Grade F or zero stars if I had either of those options read more

DO NOT RENT A TRUCK FROM THIS BUSINESS! I am moving tomorrow morning. Had a truck rental booked for weeks with them for pick up tomorrow at 7am. I was called TODAY -- the day before my move at 1pm (less than 24 hours notice) and was told they don't have a truck for me. And they said there was nothing they could do for me. Absolutely no customer service and actually tried to convince me that it would be more unfair to demand their truck be returned on time because the people using it would have to leave their items on the curb. WHAT?! Actually no sir, it's far more unfair to tell me that their truck isn't available less than 24 hours before I need it. I've moved so many times and have NEVER had someone do this. Never. I've lived in SCV for over 25 years and I've used this party rental place on a few occasions. I've never had a problem until the weekend of Aug 19th 23. It was the weekend of hurricane Hilary. The rain hit our area and unfortunately I had no storage place to store the tables, chairs and umbrellas. I did the best that I could to protect the items. When I received a call from SCV rental that they were on their way to pick up the items. I explained to them that I did not fold the tables or chairs. The person that was on the other line told me "She's not the weather channel" and said I was going to be charged a breakdown fee. I explained to her I did not want to fold everything due to the rain. The area where they dropped off the items was muddy due to the rain. The manager got on the phone and was disgusted with me that I had no place to store the items from the weather. I explained to him I did the best that I could under the wet conditions. He asked me to dry everything off so his ppl can pick up the items because his people are very busy. Their guys were professional and courteous. The tent was held down with water barrels, and they provided their own water hose. They were prepared to get the job done and that was impressive. Please read this before doing business with Jim at SCV Party Rental. I called him and set up a day for him to provide a Budget Truck Rental. He was very nice and upbeat over the first few phone calls. He took my credit card information to order the truck. I call the morning I am suppose to pick up the truck to confirm and he very nonchalantly says he cannot guarantee that he will have my truck. I decide to drive over to the business address listed online because I'm freaking out that some man has my card information. This office is completely disgusting. Hoarder status. Crap everywhere, dog hair all over. He claims he can't get me the larger truck I needed, but can arrange a small Budget van. When I ask to look at it, there's boxes of wine and trash in the back. He said he was using it to run errands. I asked him for the quote on this van. I'm desperate at this point, as I'm moving furniture out-of-state that night. He said he would email budget and get back to me within an hour or so. I NEVER heard from him again. I ended up getting a UHAUL last minute from another company. Fast forward 5 days and Budget charges me $75 for a no show fee. I call Jim immediately and he has no recollection of me or how it was charged. He tells me I have to contact Budget directly. He never provided me with a confirmation number and I never signed anything. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE avoid this business! HE IS A SCAMMER! read more
