The wife and I have been in the process of revenotating outside and inside our home lately. I…read morecould be wrong, but I think this common area bathroom is the end of the inside projects. The outside still needs the driveway replaced. I called for a few estimates and settled on The Handyman Stop. I had already had him renovate and paint my outside storage shed, (you can my before, green shed and after, white with blue trim pictures, see it on this site). It was in sad shape. Peter and Pop's, did an outstanding job with that task, so I decided to give him a shot at my bathroom. They did not disappoint us. When he removed the old cabinet, (which he carried away at no extra charge), we found out the underside floor had to have tile laid, for it was Old 80's linoleum, which we expected. Peter went right to work laying the tile I supplied. The next day he returned and completed the job. The new cabinet was damaged on one side and he repaired it so you would never see the damage. After the cabinent was installed, it required a few minor modifications to provide a perfect fit. Peter did a outstanding job taking care of this. The finished product as you can see was perfection. My Wife and I are very satisfied with the instalation. Our 89 house has been updated throughout to come up to the 1920's Era and we are completely satisfied our house update project is finally completed inside. We also had the roof replaced, but that is for another review. Peter's The Handyman Stop business is a small family operated one, but don't let that deter you. I think I have found our Handyman we can trust to do it right the first time and obstacles he may run into dosn't stop his determination to satisfy his customer. He said he is available for all projets, no mater what you need, just give him a call. I highly recommend Peter and Pop's for your projects. He arrives on time, is courteous, reasonable with pricing and cleans up throughly prior to departure when leaving. I will call him in the future.

The crew ( Peter & Mike) were extremely professional and gave us good recommendations that made the bathroom look amazing. Another contractor had previously caulked the sink and did a pretty rough job, and Chris not only fixed it -- he completely transformed it. He recaulked everything with care and precision, and the sink now looks and works so much better. Chris was also incredibly affable and easy to work with. He explained what he was doing, worked efficiently, and left everything clean and polished. I highly, highly recommend Chris H. if you can get him -- especially for kitchen sink work. Excellent craftsmanship and a great experience overall!

Reviews Yelp I…read morecalled Mr. Handyman of Newport News for an estimate to remove the full size shower door assembly and replace it with a new frameless one. I told her I had it in the box, in my garage. I had purchased it from Lowe's and it was unopened. I also a had a two steps set from our Laundry Room to the garage that needed a set of wooden handrails installed. I also had the wood for that too. She asked me to send pictures of each, which I did. She gave me a cost of $350-$500 estimate for the shower door, but reserved the cost for the step rails to the Handyman when he arrived. She set the arrival for Dec 12 at between 12-1:00. I received a text the day before to confirm the visit no time and I replied. I had asked for a courtesy call before he came, but received none. He showed up at 8:00 AM . Unacceptable to me, for we are retired and I was still asleep. I told him his mistake was he didn't ask for me, for I was the one that had call. He said he did 75% of his business with Wives and thought I wasn't home. I said you didn't ask. He had come in and checked the area. His cost was $550 which I didn't agree for shower door. I told him $500 as the lady told me as tops. He agreed. His price to add the step handles was $450 to install just two wooden handrails and side slats on the steps. I said no. He would have to come down. I called the business and explained to her that he went to Lowe's for materials, which I also had and I had idea what he'd needed. She asked me if I would let her hang up before he purchased anything and she would call me back? I agreed. No returned call. He returned with a written Work approval of for me to sign. I looked it over and it was blank except name, address and at the bottom a place for me to sign. This was an authorization to do the work. I told him I didn't sign blank documents. I told him to fill it out stating the work he was going to do, including the removal of old door assembly, disposal and clean up to my satisfaction. I further want a signed copy from him. He said I told you the cost would be $500. He seemed a little upset with what I wanted. He said let me go out to the truck and talk to my boss. I will come back and let you know. He drove off with no comment. Note: I learned a lesson a long time about signing blank documents and I haven't since. On the good side: The Handyman was courteous, with one acceptation, looked at the box with the door and wood for the steps. He seemed knowledgeable and wore covers on his shoes to protect our wooden floor. I cannot recommend this company. If you hire them, get it in writing, you may be regretful.

I was fortunate to interview Charles Morgan when I prepared to put my house on the market. Charles'…read morework ethic, communications and professionalism proved invaluable, not to mention his skill set. Charles consulted with me every step of the way on all aspects of the contractor work, which included both interior and exterior assignments. First day, he explained the order in which he would complete the work, and he stuck to the schedule. Work projects included: door installation, door repair, pocket door removal, painting, cleaning/renewing interior and exterior vents, installing light fixtures, fence repair, door screen repair, removing brush that had grown into some of the fencing, debris removal, opening stuck garage windows to restore their functionality, and much more. Charles also helped decrease the cost of the project. I had planned to purchase two new doors that others recommended. When I told Charles we would install two new doors, he said they could be repaired. Both doors now work the way they should and look perfect. With the additional savings, I bought another set of doors for a bedroom closet that due to financial constrictions had not been in the budget. Charles' craftsmanship paid off for me and all for a reasonable price. When I discussed old looking vents on the exterior of the house, Charles offered to paint them. The now newly painted black vents match the front door and shutters, and they all look beautiful. I appreciate the work Charles did for me on my house. I recommend him to you most highly and without reservation.
