We had the owner come out to measure screens for our custom built pavillion. We waited quite a while for them to come in. The installers came and were asked not to mount anything to the outside of the structure, it was all designed to go inside. They ended up mounting it outside anyway. I'm glad I was home or it would've been a disaster! I came out and told them," we just discussed this and you're mounting it on the outside anyway?"
He said "the guy measured it wrong and it doesn't fit where it was suppose to go, so I put it here." I reiterated everything must be on the inside and if it doesn't fit, it would need to be reordered. He removed the track, leaving several holes on the front of the cedar post.
I asked him to work on the upper screens since the other wasn't working out. I came out again when I saw they were still mounting the other tracks in the wrong places. I told them to stop the installation. They needed to get with the guy that measured because they had no idea what he had in mind. They couldn't be drilling a bunch of holes in the cedar structure trying to figure it out. I then spoke to the guy that came out to measure. He said it was his fault they didn't know what they were doing. At the end of the day, the customer asked for everything to be mounted inside, they ignored it. They left several holes in the front of the structure and now, we're being told, there feelings are hurt and not coming back to do the job. If your team doesn't know what to do, they shouldn't be let loose on the job site to do whatever they think is correct read more
