Open in spite of heavy snow fall this weekend. Hubs got the Flaming BLT and Blue cheese soup. I got the Talon . We both give 5/5. Seriously one of the best sandwiches we've each ever had. I'm ruined for French dips now. Hot juicy pot roast with perfectly cooked onions & mushrooms on a lovely bread with tiny little grains that gave a nice crunch in the bite. Au Jous perfect & warm. Fast Friendly service. Doesn't get better than this! read more

Very average experience. Onion rings were average. Nachos were disappointing. Thick pre packaged type chips. Burger was pretty good. Service was very scattered. read more

The service was top notch! We were made to feel as if we were long lost friends! The ambiance was great! Very patriotic, clean, and made you feel like a good time was about to happen. The food was absolutely delicious - fresh and creative menu options. We loved this place and look forward to going back! read more

It has a cool biker bar vibe... The decor was an upscale biker bar which was cool. The service was good. The menu had an ample selection. I had a beef dip type sandwich with a side of sweet corn. Yes, that is an unusual combo but it was good. This is a decent place to have a lunch or dinner. It is worth a try if you are in the area. read more

I can honestly say they serve the best BLT I have ever had BY FAR. The fries are flavorful and crispy. Great Service. Fun environment. Love this place! read more

I went on a Friday afternoon around suppertime, was a little busy, not very busy. Received poor service from a waitress who told me she had eight years of experience there. I made sure to let her know that it was my first time in, she really didn't care to make sure I was satisfied at all. Plenty of eating choices downtown Waterloo nowadays, I'm not worried about it. I just won't go back. read more

Horrible service does not take accountability for their actions. Wentyou use the restroom and they threw my food away And when I called to complain to the owner, he was a jerk never go here horrible person. He says he's all customer service but he's not. read more

We went here for lunch with a customer who grew up in the area. The reviews going in were fantastic and the visit did not disappoint. I had the spicy chicken wrap, which is quite good along with sweet potato fries and a butter and cinnamon based dipping "sauce". Unfortunately, the "sauce" came out in solid form and all I could do was spread it across the top of my sweet potato fries. I ended up asking the waitress to microwave the mixture to liquidy it and she instead brought me a new container with the sauce properly melted. This made for a pleasant experience. The atmosphere was fine and reminded me of a TGI Friday's or Ruby Tuesday's type of vibe. I would reccomended a visit. read more

I had lunch today at the Screaming Eagle. I had the hot beef sandwich. OMG, it was the best I think I have ever had. They toasted the bread, the beef was so flavorful, mashed potatoes were real and so creamy and the gravy was top notch. I hadn't been there for quite sometime. I think I may become a regular The service was excellent!!! read more

Called ahead on a Friday night they were able to seat 14 no problem. One waitress assigned to the table that was very friendly and efficient. Good assortment of food on their menu so no one should struggle finding something. Pretty solid draft beer list that I'd guess changes seasonally as it's written on a chalk board. Overall really good experience if you're in the area I'd stop by. read more

It was okay not my cup of tea has to a salad it wasn't to my liking but gave me plenty of it

Great place for dinner, drinks and live music on a Wednesday night! Pleasantly surprised by the number of people and the great music. Several beers on tap and food is good as well. Fresh chips are fun spin on homemade chips! read more

This is the place to get great food. It is bar food but is awesome. Best wings, great pizza, sandwiches, etc. There is always a special. Now to the bar. They have just about everything and the bartenders act like you have been going there for years although it may be your first time. Always cool always a place to relax, and always a place for delicious food. read more

This was a great hot roast beef sandwich. Most of the time when I order a hot roast beef sandwich, it is served open faced. This was served on toast as a sandwich. It and the mashed potatoes were very good. I also ordered fries with extra gravy and got the curly ones. Just glad I did as they were crispy and well seasoned. So why just three stars...There was a group of us and a lot was going on. Some how, the server, got our bills combined incorrectly. None of us really cared how it happened, but the server copped an attitude and justified herself, making it clear she had asked how to do it/it wasn't her fault...and then she just stood there. One person at our table said that she didn't wanna argue about it and despite server just having gone on her a little speech, she then says "oh and we are not arguing". Anyway, we had to ask if she could fix the bill and she said she could but then just stood there...so we just let it go and ran by an ATM. The whole thing was not a huge deal but it was one of those experiences thst makes you wonder why people just can't be solution focused and nice. It is usually less work and you get good karma! It was 1:00 on Friday and the place wasn't busy. Food came out quick. read more

A quality bar in a place needing more. Waterloo doesn't have the worlds most bumping downtown scene, but the Screaming Eagle is one place that bucks the trend and is really awesome. Lots of Harley paraphernalia dons the walls with a few real bikes up in the rafters. So if you are a hog fan you'll love it. drink specials on Mon and Tues include $1 domestics and a wait staff that keeps your mugs full like no other add to the high rating for this place. Tons of big screen tv's with plenty of sports on at all times. A downstairs area called 'The Pit" has pool tables and adds another cool element to this place. Good food, cheap beers, great service and fairly new interior make this place a must go whenever in Waterloo. I like it read more

Cheese Balls are the bee's knees. Get them. I could see this place being hit-or-miss, but perhaps I've just lucked out. Been here a few times as I stop in for Irish Fest over the years, and I've always come away pretty satisfied. Good food, for what they serve, and service has ranged from adequate-but-apathetic to (usually) friendly and welcoming. They've got the standard beer selection of Millers & Buds (nothing creative), and the atmosphere is nice and fun. read more

Great spot to gran grab lunch with a friend. Nice, casual.ambiance with great music videos playing. Food is decent and the servers are nice.

Ok so my only complaint is my chicken was raw I had a bunch of hair in my food I dyed my hair 5 months ago blue and the hair in the food was brown my mashed potatoes had a roach in it I was disgusted my daughter told me the place was good and I got super excited until I went there severs where so rude the owner or Manger was spraying bug spray and placing mouse traps around the place when there where people eating there I really thought the food would be amazing WARNING DO NOT GO HERE EVER!! read more

A must try place, the food here is amazing. A stand out would be there (Buffalo) chicken wrap best around. After having there food many times, there has been no bad experience. There servers are very friendly and helpful, an all out great environment. read more

Popped in here the other night for a quick beer to kill some time with a friend. Man, I wish this place had been here when I was still living in the 'Loo. I really dug the atmosphere and the decor - they even have a chopper-riding skeleton like Twisted Spoke in Chicago! - and the barman was as friendly as they come. Really nice, cool guy. Decent beer selection and - this blew me AWAY - $1 domestic drafts. I got a (few) beer(s) FOR A DOLLAR!! I almost cried...but I didn't want to dilute my yummy beer. ;) I'm hoping the Screaming Eagle hangs around for a long time and serves as a sort of anchor for the downtown area. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in town. read more

This place is so hit or miss. Either the service sucks and the food is good, or vice versa. Expect to wait a long time for your meal. I've waited over half an hour for an order of wings. A group of six people I went with for an after work party waited over an hour for our food. Sometimes the servers act like you're a burden to them, which doesn't sit well with me. They do have a fun atmosphere. They have live bands every weekend, which is nice if you're into that sort of thing. They also have decent specials, especially during football season. It would be nice to have a restroom downstairs. Not great, not terrible. They are one of the few places who serve food past 10pm, so thats a plus. read more

My husband and I stopped in for a quick little bite to eat in-between meals. We were advised to sit anywhere we wanted. After passing several booths that were waiting desperately to be wiped down during this very slow period of the day, we found one but still needed to brush off the debris on the bench. We were given menus by our waitress, who did not introduce herself. We still don't know what her name is. After looking over the usual bar food menu, we opted for a "Screaming Eagle" salad and the soup of the day, Irish beef stew. My husband made the comment that that stew is one of his favorites. He was very much looking forward to enjoying it. However, what a disappointment when it arrived. It lacked any vegetables which normally would be needed to make it a "stew". It was instead, beef and chunks of fat broth. My salad was swimming in dressing. My mistake in not asking for the dressing on the side. It was a nice combo of ingredients, though, even though they all tasted the same due to the overuse of the aforementioned dressing. We had nothing here that will bring us back. It all was underwhelming: ambiance, menu, service, and food. A great restaurant will have most, if not all, of these boxes ticked. The only thing that ticked for us was our watch in waiting to get our check so we could leave. read more

Very disappointed! Food was terrible!!! Ordered Two BLT's and the bacon was not cooked (almost raw) by the time the waitress came back it was too late....picked it off and tried to eat it..,.had onion rings with it but those even tasted funny. They only took $10 off which we should of only paid for our drinks....as what food I did eat ended up making me physically ill! Will not be going back as this is the 2nd time we have had a bad experience there! read more

Not impressed, but maybe that's what I get for going out on a Monday night. Only about 3 other customers in the joint, and there were at least 5 tables that needed bussing. I sat at the bar thinking I'd get faster service, 1st mistake. Bartender had some friends over and they had to do a couple of shots first. When the 'bartender' eventually waddled over looking like she'd just rolled out of bed, she recommended a special and I said ok. It was a wrap of some kind that she claimed was amazing but was pretty unexciting. Service was quite poor and the food was meh, 2 stars for having a good selection of beers. There are much better choices in town for dinner, don't waste your time here. read more

Excellent food and service. The atmosphere is also very warm and welcoming. We had onion rings for an app and for dinner we had the talon and a chicken wrap. All were fantastic and great quality. Prices are great and happy hour is always a bonus! We'll definitely be coming back! read more

The best bar to hang out in downtown Waterloo, a location that used to be dead but has picked up some in the past 10 years. Food is decent for bar food, average by restaurant standards. Bike Night every Thursday at 6PM is the highlight and biggest night for this bar. The street is blocked off with a band and bikes parked in the middle of the street. A typical Thursday has 200+ bikes easy. Weekends are hit and miss as far as crowds go. read more

I ordered the taco salad both times I was here because the first time I had it, I enjoyed it so much, I figured, why not get it again? My friend ordered different things each time and was happy with what she ordered both times. It's a great fun vibe and would definitely like to come for drinks with friends sometime. The waiters have always been really nice and attentive which is sometimes surprising at a place that gets this busy. read more

Stopped here to grab lunch before hitting the highway back to Chicagoland (Only because Rodney's Kitchen is not open on Mondays, otherwise I would have gone back there!) So I walk in smiling anticipating greeting a hostess... it was first time at this establishment. There was no one at the door and no sign stating seat yourself so I'm kind of lingering at the front door waiting for someone to acknowledge me... didn't happen. Note: was not busy this Monday at 11:45am. Anyway, I start walking toward the bar area to get eye contact with any employee to ask if I should grab a seat anywhere... answer was yes. Found a booth that appeared to be clean... it wasn't. I was then given the most tattered menu I ever seen by a waitress that never introduced herself but hey maybe the food will be good I thought to myself, cause I'm just always looking for that silver lining. Positive thinking didnt help this place out. The Screaming wrap of "grilled chicken" (more like canned), jalapeno peppers, tortilla strips, lettuce, tomato and pepper jack cheese missed the mark... those ingredients should have been delicious together! The half order of onion rings where the tastiest part of lunch. The only thing the Screaming Eagle bar and grill made me want to yell was "Clean your tables and get better customer service!" read more

Another very good bar & grill in Waterloo. Lots of competition - lots of great places here, but Screaming Eagle is solid as a rock. Very good wings, sandwiches, apps, and prices are decent. You can tell they pay attention and care about the details. Very good service as well. read more

Here on Irish Festival Sunday. It was busy and they were not ready for it. We sat outside as it was a great day. Other than annoying patrons our time here was great. Went in for lunch. Took 15 minutes to get a server to take our order. 1 sandwich and 1 wrap both with potato chips. Took an additional 50 minutes to get our food. Asked server if it was nearly ready. Said she would check....10 minutes after she was asked she said it should be soon. It was moderately busy, but there were at least 3-4 servers for maybe 11-12 tables. When food came it was barely warm, as in room temperature, so was either never hot, or had been sitting a long time. Sandwich had been ordered with no cheese. It came covered with cheese and the standard grilled onions were missing. I didn't complain as we didn't want to wait another 50 minutes or risk more bad food. There was no apology, no explanation, nothing. Don't know if it was a server or kitchen problem, but if this is a normal day, I don't recommend unless you want to wait a long time for less than mediocre food. We did not complain, as it was clear we were upset and it was clear the server was avoiding us. As other customers left, nearly everyone got an apology from their server for the slow service. Our server brought bill without checking to see if meal was ok. I had planned on charging it, but left cash, as we gave up waiting for her to come get the payment. read more

This place had awesome food and we stop here every time we are in Waterloo. The service can be a bit spotty but the food quality and fun atmosphere makes up for it. The bartenders are always on their phones or laptops and make really weak drinks. The food is nothing special...typical greasy bar food and over priced... The servers are REALLY slow and I waited 45min for a burger... The downstairs is dark and musty and there is no bathroom down there so you have to walk up stairs and through a crowd of people cramming the bar area(if they are busy).. The location is also not very desireable and parking is not that easy to find...If you plan on being there awhile lock any valuables in your trunk. read more

Stopped in here for lunch. Good service, decent food and cold soda. A little on the pricey side, but overall it was a pretty solid meal.

Had a great time here with CVC cycling friends. Rachel rocked.

Always a great choice! The loaded bloody marys are amazing and so is the rest of the menu. The staff is super friendly too. :)
