It says touch our actors go to jail. But the actors kept on running into me and grabbing my arm. It felt very rushed with way too many props and you're put in groups in the group we were with were a bunch of middle school girls who were trying to have conversations with every actor and they were in front of us so it just ruined the experience. They would scare or try to scare the people in front of us and then we would already know what was coming. It was very predictable. Definitely not worth more than $10. The actors were very fruity way too many props and costumes that were not even close to scary. I kept a straight face and didn't jump once. There are plenty of other haunted houses in the area I would definitely would not recommend this one. read more

Genuinely the most fun we've ever had at a haunted house. Like anything & everything, the experience is what you make it. Any downers I've seen in previous reviews are likely going into this with an attitude of a fortress wall, which isn't fair to this place. Sure your group influences your time, but you can easily go to the back and space out a little! This is not the haunts fault, they do a good job of scaring the front and back of the group. You've got to go to a haunted house ready to be spooked and to have fun, if you do that here, you will have an amazing time! Just saying, this place deserves way more credit & I'm disappointed at the inaccuracies of the reviews. Also this is a local small business, so huge kudos to their efforts. I've been to haunted houses all over the country and for the last 20+ years almost yearly, so take my word for it.. this place is putting in the work to make it cool for people. The scenery is insanely cool & there's so much attention to detail. The diversity and the length of the experience sold it for us. The bang for your buck is there; we were there longer than any other we've done, probably 1.5 hours with the extra haunt experience and hanging by the bonfire with drinks. So many textures, lighting, effects, animatronics, different themes, probs, actors, and even smells while you're being led through many many fields, houses, buses, warehouses etc! The actors were also scary yet didn't make me uncomfortable like others have before, they knew the line and didn't cross it. I loved how dedicated they were, some in cages or on the floor, some laying on the beams of the building, some blending in with the room or other props. We went on Halloween night & everyone we saw there had tons of fun too. Way to go, and thank you Screamin Acres! We'll see you next year. read more

I've been to over 10 haunted houses and this one is easily on my top 3. Lots of scare actors, the 3D goggles neon section was so trippy and sick, and the price is very reasonable. The whole haunt was around 45 minutes. We also paid for the Death Trap experience which was super *painful* but scary and a good challenge. read more

Pricing is awful! Depending on the time/date you go should not matter. Paid $37 a ticket and didn't scream once. The line is not spaced out enough for them to be charging THAT much. The set up/art of it is incredibly awesome and it has a lot of potential, but I will not be returning or recommending this one to others. Much better than last year and some of the placements were PHENOMENAL! I actually backed into a person Jesus Christ they were so quiet and waited and I was so scared I almost fell! Highly recommend fast pass to get in initially then can skip the death trap and save some money. Super fun! read more

I don't usually leave reviews but I felt the need to after the incident that occurred last weekend on opening night. This place has a no touch rule all over the property, however, we were met with an actor that would not let us through a certain area. He would push us against the wall & at one point he had my friends head pushed against a wall, when we reciprocated by nudging him to get through to the other side, thinking it was part of the maze, he proceeded to tell the group behind us "this is how you get kicked out" & called his manager and security on us to kick us out. As a group made up of predominantly black individuals we felt profiled and unwanted in a place we paid to have fun at. The only scary thing at this place is the racist staff. read more

I cannot say enough good things about the experience my friends and I had at Screamin Acres. This goes so far beyond a typical haunted house, it's a haunted EXPERIENCE. For almost $28/person, I felt like I got my money's worth and then some. It takes 45 minutes to get through the entire thing, because it's HUGE! Every part of the experience is themed and so well thought out. Be sure to duck in some places if you're tall, my husband got quite a bump on the noggin' (he's fine, no harm done). This is hands down, the BEST haunted "house" I've ever been to, and I will continue to go every year (multiple times, if I can). Thank you Eugster's for an amazing experience. It had so much potential! There are three haunts and only the 3D side effects was interesting. There was hardly any actors and they rush people in. We caught up with two groups in front of us and had two groups behind us catch up to us. It's not worth the price in my opinion considering how many years they have done this it should be more involved. Payed 75 dollars very confusing pricing. Showed up after 7 with my 11 year old daughter and her friend. Had 2 tickets stood in line for an hour in 45 minutes for the scary maze. Was rudely sent away because I didn't have a ticket instead of offering my daughter her friend to go alone and I would wait it out. Embarrassed and humiliated. A disappointing trip. Screamin' Acres has a LOT more than just a mere haunted house; there's a slaughterhouse -- which I heard is a REAL slaughterhouse during farm season... plus this corn field (OMG!), a "Crawl Space" (you don't actually need to crawl, though), the manor which they call "The Last Resort," and then they wrap it up with a "bad trip" as if from a hallucinogen (in the best horror sense!) called "Side Effects" which has blacklight reactive AND 3D sets and blacklight reactive, 3D actors!! It takes 45 to 90 minutes to get through all of Screamin' Acres in my estimation, depending on whether you rush through in terror or take it all in -- amazing! You DEFINITELY get your money's worth and then some! The props and sets must have been designed by genuine professional artists and special effects gurus. They not only have special effects that you should expect like lighting and sounds -- only better -- they also have SMELL effects (delightfully disgusting!) and *professional* actors with make up done by *professional* body paint and FX artists. Everything from beginning to end is original; they haven't stolen characters from movies like you see elsewhere. read more

I am hovering between 3 stars and 4 on this one. We went last Saturday night and while the parking lot didn't look full, we waited in line for at least an hour. If I known that, we would've went with the $40 fast pass option (Normal price is $30). While waiting in line, haunted house goers have the (dis)pleasure of having a costumed DJ spinning probably the worst songs every put together. If you are a fan of Phil Collins followed up by GWAR, then this is the place for you. Honestly, this may have been the scariest part of our night. And this is why I gave it 3 stars. Screaming Acres has 4 "settings" connected on the most part by a corn maze. I give them credit from a theatrics standpoint, some of the scenes were very creative. But,it all honesty, they didn't create a scream or scare effect that I was yearning for. It more like walking through a sight seeing tour. And with only one minute of delay between groups, often times you are all crowded together, further detracting from the experience. Special props goes to the Side Effects "scene". There you don special glasses and wander though a trippy, slightly disorienting setting. A very big thumbs down to the slaugtherhouse "scene". Filled with animal parts, it was the actual smell of rotting meat that was a major turn off. With a bill of $120 for a group of four, i don't think the scares and the screams quite matched up to the price point. Alot of hype...but not alot of horror. read more

I liked the concept of this place, but it needed more actors. The masks/monsters that are on the billboards throughout Madison are the people you encounter while waiting in lines....that's it. Major disappointment. There were four attractions (concepts); the butcher shop, corn maze, haunted house, then side effects. The only one that was semi scary was the house. The rest needed more actors. Through the entire corn maze one person jumped out at you. ONE PERSON! If more actors were added, it would be worth the $20...until then I wouldn't recommend it. read more

The makeup and the characters at this place are top notch. If you don't want to be scared out of your pants don't go... That's what going to a haunted house is all about. 3d part was cool. Attention to detail in the haunted house was impressive. The fast pass let us skip the fairly long line for not much more $. The spacing of groups sucked. We ran into the groups in front of us time after time which often meant the actors weren't prepared for us when we came through. read more

I wouldn't even give this place one star. Although we didn't wait too long, half way through, some a$$hat in the courtyard cussed out our entire group because he thought we tapped the window which was a "prop". He got up in all of our faces swearing and yelling at us like we were kids telling us he needed to escort us out. Security came through, gave us a warning for something we didn't do and let us go on our way. Too late the experience was ruined because of the horrendous harassing employees. It was so bad we all contemplated filing harassment charges against this place. Such a joke. Save your money or spend it on a quality haunted house with quality props, actors, and staff. Don't waste it on this joke. Horrible experience, just horrible. read more
