World Fare offers you that feeling, but adds to it by letting you buy products from people who not only deserve your patronage, but who have a story that will make you feel connected to them even though they might live across the globe. I was mostly ignorant about fair trade products until I went into World Fare for the first time. We aren't often shown the ugly underbelly of capitalism, and when we buy coffee at Starbucks we aren't told the story of how the farmers who supplied the beans are paid mere pennies for their product. World Fare offers you a chance to buy quality goods and feel good about where your money is going. You aren't lining corporate pockets in this store. You're helping underprivileged artisans all over the world find value in themselves in and their work. That the store is completely volunteer run is testament to how many people believe in the work of fair trade and what it does for those involved.
