On 16 Aug 2023, I ordered a Clan Crest Kilt Accessory Gift Set. When this item arrived, I noticed that the clan crest on the belt buckle, which was part of the set, was not properly attached and was, in fact, not straight or symmetrical. I contacted the vendor multiple times to point out this flaw and ask them to correct it. Each time, they responded by telling me that the crest was supposed to be asymmetrical and refusing to do anything about it. I eventually disassembled the buckle, refabricated one of the pieces and corrected the problem. My advice would be to avoid this company. I bought a Clan Tube Scarf as a present. Probably the worst online purchase I have ever made. The ends look like they've been cut with garden shears The pattern seam is way out the ends are frayed The weight of the material is so light you can fold it into a large postage stamp size This was meant to be a present, frankly I would be too embarassed to give it. The company refused to give a refund. Maybe some of their products are ok, but any company that stocks such inferior products is in my opinion to be avoided. Be careful when shipping overseas! You have to pay Toll and Taxes (VAT)! In the order it says "free shipping" and you won´t find any hint on the Homepage on the presumably costs! The Homepage is very misleading. I ordered a lot of stuff in England after the Brexit and every other company was capable of "free shipping". My order is round about € 450 and I have to pay € 150 for toll and taxes. read more

Update to this, I received my order (nobody warned me about import tariffs). They shipped my order via DHL (while I was on vacation) after I had specifically asked them multiple times by phone and email to let me know when the order was ready to ship as I travel frequently and wanted to be home when the order was scheduled to arrive. I returned from vacation to find a note from DHL advising that my order was being held by customs and I would need to pay an import Tariff to get my order. $300.00 later I had my custom woven fabric. It is BEAUTIFUL! Top notch work, custom color matching was spot on exact. If you're patient, they do good work, if you're in a hurry, buy something off the shelf and avoid the lengthy process. read more

Absolutely awful company. I initially ordered two "essential" tartan neckties from them several years back. Standard length. They fit fine, 60.5" long. Fast forward to August 2022. I ordered two "medium weight" neckties. Standard length. One arrives in at 60.5", great. The other, a stubby 54". Unusable. I sent them a picture of this dwarf tie alongside the others I have from them, and an amazon tie that is also 60.5". They respond to tell me they will send a new one. Nearly two months later, the replacement arrives, with a length of 54.5". I email them again, asking for a refund since their makers are clearly too deep into the single malt to make them to a usable length. The response, strangely asks that I provide the actual measurements for the first time. I should have been suspicious, but I thought maybe they wanted to send a grumpy message to their makers about it. A different person gets back to me, to inform me that these short ties ARE "standard" length, ignoring that their previous ties were all longer, and refusing a refund. Suggests that it's my privilege to get to keep two unusable ties. I respond suggesting that he rethink his decision since I had every reason to reasonably expect a usable product based on all of my past orders with them, and that MasterCard would likely agree with me in the case of a chargeback. Another smarmy response suggesting politely that I f*ck off and be happy to keep their unusable ties. What a joke, and what an absolute tw*t that Stewart fellow is. read more

Be very careful of custom weaves for kilts. They will change/scale a tartan pattern to suit their manufacturing needs without telling you. I ordered 2 kilts in the same exact personal tartan. They were scaled differently. Unfortunately I ordered a fly plaid with the second kilt. The fly plaid set does not march the first kilt. The cloth is great. The communication and networking with the customer for custom weaves is non existent but the custom weaves are often offered at exorbitant prices . read more

It's a real shame their customer service does not match the quality of the products they offer. I bought my first kilt and bagpipes from Scotweb back in 2008. Since then I've had to buy various other items, including a new kilt in 2018. Every single time I've ordered something through them it has been a complete nightmare to find out what is happening with the order. It often takes MONTHS for items to be delivered and at no point during that time do you receive updates. Often times your emails will be ignored, and if you do happen to get an answer they will simply say, "we're very sorry, but we can't answer that." They also do not warn you of import fees you that will suddenly be slammed with (or DHL will refuse to deliver your items). I would HIGHLY recommend buying from a different vendor. There are several to choose from. There is really no reason to deal with these people. read more

We are a car manufacturer and serve our clients with seats to their design and taste.We have used Scotweb in 2 occasions and both were bad. The first order took from January to June to fullfill, the next one was a reorder of the same material,first they claim they didn't get the money,finally their bank finds it and the delivery time is up from May to November.Customer agrees and we are happy to receive the material...just it is not the bright orange that we reordered and is displayed on their website it is terracotta...nice color but if you have to match an existing interior not usable.Upon 2 emails and 2 phone calls we were send the terms and conditions we agreed upon order.No service- no taking back- nothing-no apology.Don't use Scotweb if you have to match something,service not existing. I'm getting married in two weeks. this company jerked us around after we put the order in last March. It wasn't until a few weeks ago when they changed the shipping date and pushed it back, stating they couldn't get "the weaving" right for the certain tartan we needed. They were extremely poor at communicating, forcing us to reach out to them after being left in the dark this entire time. This morning, after we reached out again to check on the status of our order, they told us they could NOT get the tartan we needed, and offered to get a completely different tartan with completely different colors, even though my entire wedding's colors are based on the tartan we ordered months ago. Now, being two weeks out from our wedding, they completely dropped the ball because now it is too late to find a replacement. I DO NOT recommend this company due to the lack of communication, professionalism and put us in a complete bind now. I'm highly disappointed in them and if they weren't able to provide what they had (on THEIR website) they should have reached out months ago to avoid this mess they left us in. Don't waste your money or time on this business, unless you want to be screwed over. read more

Although this is a local business (to me) that's not why I shopped there. In fact, they trade only by phone or online. But after several purchases, I can only say it's one of the best customer service experiences I've had, and the quality of goods I've received has been excellent. It's actually not easy to find really good quality kilts and tartan products nowadays as most of the high street shops frankly sell cheap junk, imported from goodness knows where. But this company offers an extraordinary choice of tartans, including from their own mill (they claim it's the world's largest range, and I see no reason to disbelieve them) and will make practically anything for you. My wife was utterly delighted with her long skirt for example. Highly recommended. read more

I ordered braveheart tartan flat cap from scotweb in November 2015 and had to wait 1.5 months for my order to get dispatched. According to Customer Service, there was a flooding which affected manufacture's facilities. Well, I did not mind to wait in hope for a great product. With that said, under the circumstances, any decent Company in US or Canada would have offered some perks like shipping upgrade at its own expense. That did not happen. It is only today, in January 2016, that I received the item which only distantly resembles one shown on the website. Instead of soft wool rim, there is a stiff ribbon which makes the cap almost impossible to wear and it is all the way too small. Caps of better quality can be purchased in Canada for a fraction of the price I had to pay to Scotweb. What a waste! Will never - ever - deal with ScotWeb again. read more

Made an order nearly a month ago and was told it would be available before Christmas if I paid £8 extra for postage. Having paid this extra cost I have just been told, after I asked for an update, that the earliest the product will be available to post out to me is January 8th in a very indignant email from them. Just a brilliant experience from start to finish. Wanted a real kilt - not high street tat. So I asked around. And this name came up several times. I'm not surprised. They wove my rare tartan to order, but the price was still lower than I was quoted for bog standard kilts by other proper kiltmakers, and it didn't seem to take any longer than others were talking about. The service was superb. Very willing to share their obvious knowledge, and help a muggins like me through my purchase from start to finish. And I got it in time for Christmas, just as promised. Result. The kilt itself is flawless. It's hard to describe just what makes it so good, but it's the finest garment I've ever owned by far. Fantastic products. Fantastic service. I believe their claim to offer a bigger choice of tartans than anyone else in the world because I found a massive choice in my own unusual family name when everyone else told me there was nothing available. Theyre local to me but even so would not let me visit which is my only real gripe (not insured they said) as they are mail order only but the service I got on the phone was outstanding. Helpful. Knowledgeable. And friendly without being either too familiar or condescending. For someone like me this was incredibly reassuring and when my kilt arrived the quality was way beyond expectations. totally unbelievable .. tried to order my family crest as a gift. McTavish- but they only do MacTavish. Some snooty ignorant man told me the spelling does not matter.. and gave me a lecture on names going back in history - well why not sell me a Thomson plaque then ?? the root is the same... well names do go back and my family chose the spelling they wanted - and it matters to me .. I then called another company who let you choose any spelling (obviously) and the lady could not have been nicer. read more

Very dissatisfied with the whole experience. I live in Spain and I ordered some kilt socks. They were advertised at 12 pounds,but when I chose the size and the colour they went up to 15 pounds. I put in my details and stupidly forgot to change the country from the UK. I immediately sent a message in order to correct my mistake and a couple of days later got a reply,after receiving information that my card charge had gone through. I was told that I would have to pay sixpence extra to cover air mail,or twenty pounds for a private courier. I decided to cancel the order so I sent another message which took two days to get a reply. The customer service was bad and I never felt valued at any stage. Today I have checked my account and I have received the refund,although obviously there is a different exchange rate,so all in all I am out of pocket by 3.41 Euros. A terrible experience,all for the sake of sixpence! And I will never be buying from Scotweb in the future and I recommend noone to try the dour experience of dealing with the people who work in the customer service department. I am a Scot living in Spain- there are people who say the Scots are tight-fisted- maybe it's true! Will be attempting to knit my own socks in the future! read more
