I wasn't expecting anything fancy as from the outside it looks like it may be a plain and simple shop - I was wrong. It's such a little gem of a place, warm cosy and just lovely! The owner is so down to earth and couldn't have been more relaxed. I could honestly have bought any dress I tried on - they were beautiful and very different to what I'd seen at wedding shows and online. I ordered the 3rd dress I tried on (even though I tried on 8 in total) there was no rush, no sales push and just a lot of fun! We were given cakes, handmade biscuits which were stunning, wine & soft drinks! So far the best experience yet in my wedding planning - cannot wait to wear my beautiful dress in 2015. Kudos offer an absolutely stunning range of bridal and evening wear suitable for every special occasion. For the bride, they offer a huge range of different styles of wedding dress and their sizes go up to 30 so they can accommodate women of every shape and size - amazing! Kudos also sell bridesmaid's dresses and stock a range of different designers so there is a huge selection of dresses to choose from. There are plenty of Mother of the Bride outfits available in a range of different styles and colours. Kudos also sell a fantastic range of evening and prom dresses in every style and colour so whatever the occasion, Kudos will have the perfect outfit. The staff are lovely and inviting and provide such a great shopping experience that are bound to leave the shop with a smile on your face. The dresses in Kudos are so beautiful that it is always the place I go to in order to buy a party dress.

Since my first review (when I had only been a couple of times) I've had the need to go back to Stitch Express loads. Trousers adjusted, buttons replaced, dry cleaning, button holes made, shirts fixed; you name it, I've had it done. Every time I've been the service, quality and price has been impeccable with all alterations made well within the time promised. Often for smaller fixes and patch jobs they'll do them whilst you wait - who can complain about paying £1 to have a button replaced?! Good job this place exists or I'd look like a regular modern day ragamuffin. If you're on the Haymarket side of town and need some clothes adjust then make a bee line for Stitch Express. Or I'll punch you.

Luckily nobody will see it because of where it is but still, it wasn't there before. Also the first time I went to pick it up it was as if they didn't do anything to it. They said that there was a problem with the lining and fixed that (I hadn't noticed a problem with it) but I needed it taken in and it was still really big on me. I've ended up taking it in myself. Honestly don't go there. There's far better tailors in Edinburgh more expensive but worth it, especially of it's your wedding dress.

We were so impressed that we asked her to do the bridesmaid dresses and mother of the bride outfit. All the outfits looked great and the price for 5 dresses (including the wedding dress) was very reasonable. She also arranged to have my dress cleaned and boxed for me. I had more fittings than most and she never once was put out by this and was always welcoming and accommodating what we needed. Thank you!!

Situated on Easter Road in Edinburgh, Bowdens specialises in formalwear and kilts, the sort of stuff guys wear to weddings or Graduations. My uncle had bought a grey pinstripe number from here a week before and had left it to be altered. I picked it up and the assistant couldn't have been any nicer, although I wasn't much help when it came to answering questions about Uncle Bill's inside leg measurements. I left with the suit beautifully wrapped in a black formal carrier, and my Uncle was thrilled with his purchase. Somewhere a bit different than Slater's or Harvey Nichols, and dare I say, cheaper, but still fabulous quality.

This store stocks a huge amount of suits in every colour imaginable. As well as some other smart clothes, like your tweed coat yah. The service was fantastic, there are few shops which offer such a high standard of service. The shop assistant was very polite and listened to what my dad was looking for and came up with a tonne of options. He gave advice and was really helpful. We settled on the second suit my Dad tried, and the best thing is they alter for free! This was the Monday and the guy said we could pick up the altered suit on Saturday. As my Dad doesn't live in Edinburgh I said I would pick it up but it would be two weeks later as I was going on holiday on Saturday. Not a problem, he organised the suit to be ready for the Wednesday. My brothers picked up their suits from another branch of Slaters and they were just as good.

My brother got his suit for his school leavers dance from Slaters and many of my friends have recently had to invest in a suit for Grad Balls and Slaters seems to be the most popular option. It also seems like the most wallet friendly option as a friend of mine got his suit for £80, I didn't realise you could get suits at such a bargain price! Prices range from under £100 to £200+ so it depends how flush you're feeling I guess. You don't have to go all out and buy a suit or kilt you can also hire them if you don't really need them all that much, just don't get carried away with the red wine.
