Awwwwww! That is exactly what I thought when I popped into Bohemia the other day. This children's…read moreboutiques just screams cuteness and many of the toys are too nice to let your terrible tots play with, they'd be better used as ornaments. They had a huge section with wooden and fabric food and I was tempted to buy a cuddly banana but seeing as I'm not under 3 I thought it was best not to as I'd probably end up wondering why I'd bought it in the first place. They also had a wooden cake stand with a wooden cake display on it, it was gorgeous! There was also a good selection of Eric Carle toys and books and as I love the Hungriest Caterpillar this was a huge plus for me. In addition the children's clothing and toys there's also a small ladies fashion section with a rail of pretty tops and dresses. In addition to this there's a little vanity table that has Paul and Joe make-up displayed on it beautifully. I also have to mention the staff who were lovely and really friendly, when I popped in it was two girls working and they couldn't have been nicer, chatting away to all the customers and making everyone feel really welcome indeed, very knowledgeable about the products and seemed to really like working here too. Definitely deserving of five stars.

Bohemia is another one of those shops I try averting my eyes from when I walk by. Because things in…read morethere tend to be just a bit too pretty. And I'm not the only one who thinks this. My friends and I always try very hard not to ogle the shop on our walk from Scotmid to my house and vice-versa. We avert our eyes because things in there are pretty and not cheap at all. Sometimes, though, there are those rare occasions when there's something at a reasonable price. My flatmate and another friend bought me a gorgeous dress for only 15 pounds, while most dresses there are in the 40 pound price range, if not more. They also sell children's clothes. I'm not sure if this is specific to the Marchmont area (there are lots of middle-class parents in this area as well as students). The women who work there have always been really kind to me. The dress my friends bought me had a tiny fault and they sent it off to get repaired at the tailor's for me. I don't know if this was standard, but I'm just glad I didn't have to argue about it at all. I'm not a fan of confrontation, you see. So if you do have some money to spend, this is a great place to get something, as the shop advertises, bohemian and dressy.

The outside of the shop is very enticing, with the newly painted white outside, and a fabulous display of clothes in the window. Chie Chie sells a range of really unique clothes and accessories and whatever the occasion you are buying for, Chie Chie will have the perfect outfit for it. This shop sells lots of high quality clothing, particularly dresses and work outfits such as smart trousers and blouses. They offer a very eclectic range of fashions and materials, such as silk dresses and cashmere cardigans. Because of the quality nature of the clothes they sell, Chie Chie's clothes are a tad on the pricey side, but you know that whatever you bu it is going to last a long time. The sales assistants were friendly and happy to help. If you are looking for something different and want to break away from the trend of buying clothes from the high street stores, Chie Chie is a fantastic place to shop at.

Inside, the clothes were just as gorgeous as I'd expected from the window. It's so annoying when you go somewhere only to find that all the good stuff is in the window and everything inside just doesn't live up to your expectations. Thankfully, this certainly wasn't the case here. I was greeted by the shop assistant as soon as I entered, it made the place a lot more relaxed and the shop assistant was happy to let me browse at my leisure. I noticed some stunning dresses a little black number in particular caught my eye but it was a little bit out of my price range. The clothing is Chie Chie is gorgeous and individual and if you're looking for a special outfit then pop in to see what's on offer.

Maybe they get absolutely tons of business and can afford to be picky, but I would have thought that they would appreciate the extra cash flow. I never want to return to the place where I bought my dress, but would also rather take it to a place which is very familiar with altering wedding dresses. Kudos would have been perfect and very convenient for me. In fact, I was hoping to buy my accessories there (they have some gorgeous stuff) but it would have been much better if I was able to try the accessory actually *with* the dress. Wee shame.

I love Mrs Smith!…read more It is a fabulous little boutique fashion store in the centre of the busy and bustling Morningside Road in Edinburgh, close to the city centre so very easy to get to. Mrs Smith sells really smart and sophisticated clothes for women. Most of their clothes are 'work' clothes, such as nice trousers and blouses, but there are also plenty of lovely dresses and skirts which are very summery. Mrs Smith is a relatively new addition to the Edinburgh fashion boutique seen as it opened last year. Personal stylists are available which is fantastic as they are able to assist you if you are unsure which colours go or what style of clothes suit your body shape. The clothes in this store are of excellent quality and will last for years, and as a result, they are a wee bit pricey. If I am ever looking for a lovely outfit to wear to work, Mrs Smith is my first and only port of call. Amazing.
