My lease was just about up (1 month left) on my Range Rover Evoque and rather than turn it in and break even I figured why not see if I had a little equity in it since I was so far under the allotted mileage. So my first stop was CarMax in Frederick, MD - top notch place and very professional but they offered me right at what the lease payoff was. I was pretty bummed. On my way back to the interstate for a defeated drive back to my home in WV I passed guy holding a Cash Money Cars sign. I said what the heck and stopped and asked for directions there, conveniently a few minutes from CarMax. There I met Tony, a very easy going guy and senior buyer who explained the process start to finish with no pressure and no BS. He gave me an offer within 20 minutes for more than $2000 over the CarMax offer. I told him I'd consider it and sat on the offer for about a week. I was just about to go ahead and trade my Evoque towards my new car but then Tony called and followed up and went through the process one more time - he said we could have it done in under 40 minutes. So I went there the past Friday, sat down and did the paperwork, and walked away with a nice check for my leased vehicle - all in under 40 minutes. And just an FYI, it's very rare to walk away TO THE GOOD on any leased vehicle, you are usually lucky if you just break even. I admit I was skeptical at first but without a doubt I would do business with Cash Money Cars and Tony again. Do yourself a favor and skip CarMax and go straight to these guys.

They use shady tactics to justify their lowball offer. I was told a 30-mile discrepancy in my odometer reading was the reason why $5000 was knocked off their offer. They also cited a bunch of other small stuff like a slight smoke smell, a scuff, and the like for reducing their offer more. I suspect they think that most people who go there really need the money and will take whenever is offered. Get your car appraised elsewhere. It didn't help that Kenneth Regus, the WBAC rep, also broke a dome light during the test drive. They are careless, and they are shady. Update: Got a call from corporate and had a good conversation with Patrick. I appreciate the follow up and for that, this is no longer a 1-star review.

I guess they think everyone is so desperate to sell their cars that they will take any offer. I went into carmax and started their process, it took about 45 minutes and the salesman really beat me up I felt like, hammered me about the cars miles, the condition, error codes etc.. The offer was low and after the barrage I told him let me go across the street and see what they offer. I drove literally across the street and met Mark and started the cash money process. After about 15 minutes he was back and said he liked the car and offered me $200 over the Carmax price, I told him another $200 and we had a deal and we shook on it and I couldnt have been happier. That jump across the street yielded me another 400$ and I got the check that day. Mark helped me unload my trunk and clean out the car AND drove me back home. I cant say enough nice things about CMC. The dispatch was so nice and friendly and told me to turn my flashers on and that he is sending a driver right the way. The tow truck driver Danny arrived really fast and it took him literally 2 min to load my Volvo on his truck. On our way to the dealership Danny offered me bottle of water and made me feel really comfortable. I want to thank the driver and the dispatch for being so helpful in such a difficult situation.
