The first was a couple of years ago when…read moreKitchenaid sent one of their repairmen out to service my dishwasher, which wasn't cleaning properly. The repairman said something about the pump was made in Mexico when it should have been the one from China -- or maybe vice versa -- and replaced it. It still didn't clean properly, but it seemed better. To be fair, though, this was likely not Penobscot Appliance Repairs' fault -- I think the dishwasher itself is a lemon. Over the intervening time, it's gone downhill to the point that it now puts dirt on glasses that had only water in them. I complained to Kitchenaid, showing them pictures of the dishes, and they sent the same guy out again. This time, I had to offer to loan him a mask to shame him into wearing one inside; he didn't seem to be too fond of that, but I'm not too fond of getting sick, either. After looking the dishwasher over, he reset the controller, but said it was operating as designed. I might have opined a couple of times that it was a piece of crap, then, if that is how it was designed. He, unprompted by any prior comment on any related subject, told me it was "my president's" fault -- that Obama's water regulations were to blame, and that Obama had never done anything good for me. I suggested in defense that perhaps a clean world was better than clean dishes, but tried to steer the conversation back to the actual problem at hand. The dishwasher ran one load of dishes after he left -- leaving crud on the dishes as usual -- then died. Now it doesn't drain, so it can't run. Kitchenaid arranged another service call, on their dime again, to have the guy come back and fix it. After waiting all morning this morning, he didn't show--turns out he'd refused the repair order, I found out from Kitchenaid later. Guess he didn't like wearing a mask? Afraid he'd get Obama-cooties? I really wouldn't recommend this company. Oh, and I went to Lowes and bought a new Bosch dishwasher to replace my 3 or so year old Kitchenaid. Live and learn!

A few days before the appointment they called to confirm. The day of the appointment they had a cancellation and I received a phone call and they came earlier than the scheduled appointment which was great. They installed us a new hot water baseboard heater. Excellent communication and they did great work. My go to plumber from here on out.

All went well until I had to connect the discharge tube to the waste pipe. It was an inch off. I called Nichols and they made an appointment for me THE NEXT MORNING. When they came, the work was done very quickly and the amount they charged me was embarrassingly low.

Foster today…read more After getting extremely faint whiffs of propane around the home I recently purchased (others couldn't smell it at all), I finally called today, simply to ask some questions about it. I am financially struggling right now, so I was hesitant to have them come out in case I was imagining it. The smell really was that faint. I spoke to Jared, asked my questions, and he picked up on how stressed out I was about it right away. He was compassionate with my situation, explained the process, what the billing would look like (less than I thought!), and explained how important it is to trust your gut when it comes to propane. So, I had them come out and I'm so glad I did. They found multiple small leaks in the line to my water heater and also discovered that the previous owners used the wrong regulator when they did a DIY conversion from an oil to a propane furnace. He gave us info on the stove oven operation. He replaced the rollers and seal on the dryer. Then he advised the washer was on borrowed time. His repair estimate would exceed the cost for a replacement washer. We are still using it judiciously. Anthony gave us a recommended vendor who sells repaired kitchen appliances that would suffice to replace the washer at a resonable cost. We reside at seasonal property for 5 months so our desire to keeps repairs and replacment costs to a minimum. Thank you Anthony. You are on my call list when I need you again.
