Brought my car in because breaks went out. They said they would not be able to do it till Saturday because they were swamped. I said call me when you can tell me a price and what is needed. They called Saturday that I needed callipers routers and pads and it would be 1,100.00. That sounded outrageous to me so I said let me call around before you start. I called several mechanics and a few part stores and told them exactly what parts scotts u save told me would be needed the part.stores gave me the price of total in parts to be no more then 400.00 . The mechanics said that's outrageous but they could not help me. To busy. I then told scotts u save That I had no choice so I guess go ahead but told them of my findings on price. They said yes but the price in labour would be at least 4 hrs. They came down to 999.00 About an hour later they called that my car was ready. I said then why am I being charged 4 hrs labor. They said oh the book price of labor. I then wrote a review stating what I just wrote here. They called me after reading my first review before this one. I thought oh good maybe they will admit to their misteak and make things right. Nope! They called me and pretty much made excuses and made up lies saying they started the job on Friday night! I said that's funny because I did not give them the go ahead until Saturday at 11.am and they called 45 min later saying it was done. I have the receipt that I then picked it up At 12.21. .. Instead of calling me to rectify their wrong or misteak they treated me like I was on trial. I have went to scotts u save for years. I don't know what happened or who they have working and scamming and finagling and lying but that's ok they can keep my 500.00 they robbed me and saposedly charged me for labor! I will never go back! My experience today was very unpleasant. It took 2 hrs plus to install 2 tires and do a alignment that they say they done. Sherry was a bitch and very unprofessional she said do you want me to have them take the alignment off and you just pay tires which ultimately would've had me there an additional 1hr or so as she said. Great service! The two dangerously cold days we had at the end of January,my car broke down after I left work! It had to be towed to the repair shop. They did a thorough inspection and found multiple things wrong,but the same day,they had my car good as new,a remarkable feat considering the number of other people there those two days! I called this repair shop for a muffler and a battery. I was told they didn't do full muffler repairs, only patchwork is what they did and I was told it would be considerably less than getting an entire muffler little did I know they mysteriously do complete muffler repairs, due to the fact that they ended up replacing the entire muffler.) They also told me they would check my battery to see if it were any problems related to the cold weather and the battery draining...So I thought these guys sounded like they cared about their customers. Little did I know they are just like the rest of the price gauging repair companies. I own a 2007 Chevy HHR and the battery is in the back of the car and it has a stabilizing bar(This bar has 2 bolts on top that keep the battery from shifting around. The bar is about 1 inch wide and about 8-9 inches long. The guy told me they charged $75.00 to remove the bracket calling it custom work. Mind you this cost does not include the cost of the battery. I said no to the battery as I could go and get a battery and install it myself. Mind you they had my car overnight and the next day when the car was ready They called and I questioned again the final cost After that debacle when my car was ready I had received a call from them informing me that my car repair out the door would be $580.00 including taxes was ready for pick up. So I asked again for reassurance the next day when they called that the price would be $580.00 speaking to a different con man and this one told me that price was without taxes and the new price would be $635.00. So I scrambled to get the rest of the money and I finally get my car and I check over their work and then I check the receipt and I see labor and parts that should be the norm and as I keep reading I see a fee for shop supplies ($20.00 (WTH is a shop supply fee. If you are a person of color stay away from these pricks they will nickel and dime you to death and possibly switch prices on you after the work is done!! read more

I brought vehicles here for tires, spending hundreds of dollars each time. I phoned first to see if they could install a single screw on my vehicle. Karen told me to come in. After I arrived they told me I'd have to wait, then said it would be a charge. I said for a screw? I've spent hundreds of dollars here and I just asked could you do it for me? They declined without money. So, I left and needless to say will not be giving them any more business PERIOD! I don't like money hungry businesses. Every little thing is a nickel and dime. This place was amazing! I had a family emergency and my baby was being sent by helicopter to Indianapolis. I had to follow in my car and, of course, had a flat tire when I went to leave. They were busy but the gentleman at the counter found me a tire and a service technician to help me in between appointments. They saved the day for me and my family! Can't say enough about the service I received from Scott's U Save!!! Jack at Scott's U Save is the BEST!!! Had a car accident that damaged my car underneath. I had it towed to Scott's and Jack took over from there. Jack dealt with my insurance company that was being a royal pain about paying out the "correct" amount for the damages done. I sincerely don't know what would have been the end result if it wasn't for Jack. Jack saw it through with my insurance company and repaired my car the way it was suppose to be repaired. Never a bad experience here. They can get pretty busy at times, but I'll take that as further reassurance they're doing the job right. I've gone here for years with a few different cars and they've never let me down. If you go for auto repair, they do good work and won't charge you for stuff you don't need. They have a good selection of tires also, so if you can't afford the super top of the line tires, they still have some that will fit your budget. The staff has always been friendly and courteous and always make me feel welcome. Easily my favorite place to get work done on my car. read more

Hi I want to say that I am satisfied with Scott's they tried to rectify the situation of the black paint coming off of my wheels. After 15 months of being on car. All I can say is check your wheels after you buy them REGULARLY!! Before a year is up!!! But since it's outside all the time it's not hard to have the elements do havoc on them. They agreed to make restitution but at this time it's very difficult to come up with monies to replace wheels even at half price. So I apologize for the bad rap I gave you. So I bought a groupon for this place for 2 oil changes and 2 tire rotations for $40. It was a great deal and this place is close to my house. The first time I went in to get an oil change it took about an hour. I honestly didn't think anything of it, there was a lot of people in the waiting area, I just figured they were busy. "stuff happens". Then about 3 months goes by and it was time for me to get another oil change. I stopped into the place on 2 different occasions: the first time was around 4 pm (they close at 6) and they told me they were booked solid until closing. ok. the second time I stopped in around 2 and, again, was told they were booked solid until closing. I asked how exactly I was supposed to get my oil changed if they were always "booked solid" and the woman at the counter said I needed to call "first thing in the morning" and get my name on the list. So, as told, I call at 10 am one day and they say they can get me in at 2. So I get there 5 minutes early and they tell me it'll still be 10-15 minutes until they can get my car into the garage. I got an oil change and tire rotation and it took a little over an hour. I have been to other places that you didn't even have to get out of your car, it takes sometimes less than 10 minutes and you're out and on with your life. This place seems way understaffed as well as poorly managed. If you put a groupon out there to attract more customers and then don't have the customer service and efficiency to back it up then in my opinion your groupon and your entire venture to attract more business has been completely void. Having to call in first thing in the morning to schedule a time that you can come in and STILL have to wait over an hour to get something done that takes half the time elsewhere is ridiculous and NOT WORTH the maybe $25 I saved with the groupon. Not to mention they STILL have this same groupon up (definitely over 4 months now) and they are saying that groupon is the reason they are perpetually busy. "well it's good for us," the woman at the counter joked when I asked if they were ever "slow".. yeah, good for you, get your money right now from your groupon while it lasts but I will never be returning to scotts. I would rather drive 30 minutes to Frankfort and get my oil changed in 12 minutes for $20 without having to even leave my car or get sassed by the people working there, who ALL seem burnt out. Also, the blonde woman is RUDE. I basically told the woman at the counter a short version of what I've said here and this woman (who I've been told is the owner, which would explain this poorly run business) was trying to "defend" the business, by talking at my back from behind the long counter while I was standing at the payment counter. When owners get defensive over a customer giving them an honest feedback of their business that shows extreme immaturity and a blatant disregard for the customer giving you THEIR money. I swear the people giving this place more than 2 stars are either close friends of the business owners, don't consider their time important or enjoy unprofessional business environments. read more

I saw a coupon for them online so I decided to give them a try. I called at 8:30 am and asked for recommendations for my Camry and I was given two choices by Sherry. She told me that they both had a great ride and at least 65K warranty on them. After researching the brands online and 5 phone calls later a *still* patient Sherry answered all of my questions without the slightest hint of irritation. I'd read online reviews that said the wait was always really bad but she took all of my info over the phone and had a ticket waiting for me when I got there. It was noon when explained to her that I needed to be back in Indiana by 3pm to pick up my daughter and she told me to come right away. I arrived at 1pm and all that was needed was my name and keys and my car was taken right in. I got great customer service from everyone there and when I couldn't find the key to unlock my lug nuts they told me not to worry and gave me the $20 service for free. This place comes HIGHLY recommended and the Toyo Extensa A/S have my car driving like it's brand new again, not to mention I saved $100!! Thanks Scott's U Save! I'll be back!! read more

My wife and I have had our cars serviced here multiple times and couldn't be more pleased with the service we receive. Yesterday I went with Scott's to have new tires and rims installed on my 56 Ford. All I can is WOW! they more than met my expectations, and a price that beats all the big box tire shops. Friendly fast service, and the shop has recently been remodeled since my last visit. Super clean, and most importantly very comfortable seating. I've been to Scott's many times. For four years their auto work was fine. They have pretty good customer service but I've experienced a lot of faulty work within the last year or so. Three times they didn't seal my tires correctly and one of those times I ended up with a flat after the tire suddenly deflated. The last oil change I got they forgot to put the gasket back on and I ended up loosing most of my oil over a couple days. I have respect for their management but some of their technicians lately are not reliable. I've had too many problems recently so I only go there when I must. read more

Had a leak coming from the front drivers side of the Rack & Pinion bellow. Found that I needed a new Rack & Pinion (cheaper than fixing the seal and bearing assy of the Rack & Pinion). Priced shop in the area, and found this place as the cheapest (Quoted: $615). Took immediately there, and it was replaced the same day. Free balancing after replacement. Pros: Cost of part; Time involved was short; knowledge of mechanic in replacement was good. Cons: Cost of labor time ($275) was high for three hours; Failed to place protective cap on positive terminal of battery (left hanging, which was close to the serpentine belt, and could have caused damage); Cleanup of spilled power steering fluid on engine and carriage was not done. Sent in our van to get tires and four hours later we call to check up and are told "your car is on the lift now"..we drove by as we were talking and our car was still sitting in the lot. They responded quickly with a price for the tires i was looking at and also suggested a different set that they had on sale. The tires on sale were a much higher quality tire but the price was lower than the original tires i had asked about. Nobody could even come close to that price so i stopped in and had them installed. On the phone, I described symptoms of my car & was told most likely I needed back pads & rotors. After bringing my car in, Scott's told me I needed front & back pads & rotors & also back calipars for a total of $750.00 (phone est. was $219.00). I left, upset because I didn't have $750....called my son, who manages a car dealership, he ordered all the parts Scott's recommended & had his master mechanic do the work. Turns out, all I needed was the back pads & rotors, front was fine & I definitely did not need calipers. I was so distraught over the scam they were trying to pull on me, could hardly enjoy the good news of less money I would have to pay out. Please BEWARE of this shady company. read more

Had a flat tire. Brought it in to Scott's and had them take the tire off the wheel and fix it the right way, from the inside. They did not put the wheel on the tire machine properly and broke the sensor for the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). They replaced the original Toyota sensor with a cheap after market sensor, and, of course, never told me. 20K miles later the sensor malfunctioned and the Toyota dealer said it wouldn't be covered on the warrantee because it wasn't a Toyota part.
