I called to schedule an estimate and left that message on their voicemail. A few days later they showed up unscheduled to give the estimate when we were not home. Our child called it and by phone we told them what we wanted on the estimate. He gave my husband a good price but nothing in writing. We are still in the process of collecting estimates. Today 3 trucks showed up at my house saying my husband had told them to do the job. I knew this was wrong because we had just discussed getting more estimates yesterday! I don't know what the mixup was, but we will not be having anyone do work without something in writing. You think a good business would be operating the same way...... read more

We got a reasonable quote for a tree removal, stump grinding and cleanup. The crew that took down the tree was very professional, careful and cleaned up very well. The owner came and ground the stump shortly thereafter in a short amount of time. However, when I asked how they were going to get all the grindings on their truck he said "we don't do that"? Then he added "My son does it on the side". When I inquired how much, he replied "About $250.00"! My wife also heard the estimator say it included cleanup the day before. When I mentioned that he replied "No, he wouldn't say that". Unfortunately for him, I have quite the video surveillance system around my house and have a recording of him saying "Take the tree down, remove the stump and clean up - (price quote). We also said we would be paying with a credit card, which the estimator said would be fine. The owner told me today it would be 4% extra for credit - they should have said that initially. Then he wanted cash, and wrote me a receipt on a piece of notebook paper! Pretty shady, if you ask me. He did honor the $100 Val pack discount. I will improve this review if he takes care of this mess and sends me an appropriate receipt. read more

Hired this company to remove a huge tree but not the stump. Would not schedule a definite day to do the job, just said some day next week and would call the day before . No call, just showed up. They made a complete mess of my yard. They left ruts and divots from the trucks. Totally destroyed a large portion of my front lawn that had to be repaired. They left an 8ft long by 5 ft wide by 4 ft deep hole in front lawn. I had to hire someone to repair the damage done to my yard. They left copious amount of sawdust and debris on my roof requiring me to hire someone to clean it up. After paying a hefty amount to have the tree removed, I had to pay an additional $2500 to repair the damage they caused. They refused to take any responsibility for any of the damage done. Would not recommend this company, especially if you are a female senior citizen. read more

I am not a customer, but a neighbor of a Scott's customer. My neighbor hired Scott's to cut and remove two trees on our line. During the removal prosses both my neighbor and I informed them, on more than one occasion of a concrete well head located between the two trees. To no avail. Sure enough they ended up collapsing well head, by driving heavy equipment over it. My neighbor called to get them to fix the damage ; but was brushed off. Now it appears I must take legal action against either my neighbor or Scott's , or fix it myself. read more

My wife and I hired these degenerates unfortunately. The trimming was unsatisfactory at it's finest. They put a hole in my roof and would only pay for materials after denying it multiple times. DO NOT hire these wastes of space. I ended up fixing it myself...like I don't have enough to do. I am pretty sure that they are on drugs. Was quoted by 3 different companies, Scott's was best priced by far. Called on a Wednesday to confirm the quote, on that next Thursday they were at my door at 8:00 ready to cut down the tree. They worked quickly, efficiently, and very professionally. They got everything down without any damage, all while avoiding powerlines and garages/fences. Scott's then cleaned everything up perfectly, including the stump. Great price, great performance, and overall great organization. I spoke with 3 different tree removal services before I decided to hire Scott's Tree and Stump Removal to remove 10 Ash Trees. The crew of 4 did an excellent job of dropping the trees without damaging my adjacent fence. The trunks were cut into split-able length logs which were stacked in neat piles. They then used a leaf blower and completely cleaned up the yard and removed any stay branches. In summary, I would highly recommend Scotts based on quick service, cost and performance. A truly superior tree removal service! Scott and the team showed up when he said they would, worked quickly to remove the dead tree, and cleaned up the mess all without damaging my neighbor's historic home or my white picket fence. His team of skilled professionals were gentlemen as well! As I watched from the sidelines, there was no coarse or vulgar language flying about. There happened to be a raccoon in our tree so the team was extra careful to ensure a safe escape route for the animal. I appreciate everything about the job Scott and his team performed.
