I had to chase them down repeatedly just to get the most basic updates. No one ever reached out proactively. It felt like I was managing the entire process myself while they did... nothing. They also failed to coordinate with my insurance in any meaningful way, which only added more delays and confusion. You'd think a company that does this every day would have that figured out, but apparently not. Request was send in Feb, it is now April, just to order a part and attempt to schedule the service. A month of me calling, following up, and basically begging for progress because they clearly weren't capable of handling it on their own. And then, after all that time wasted, they refused to complete the service, for no valid reason whatsoever. Nothing had changed from the original situation. Same car, same issue, same everything. They just decided not to do the job. To top it off, the on-site staff was rude, dismissive, and acted like I was the inconvenience. No accountability, no urgency, no professionalism. Honestly one of the worst service experiences I've ever had. Avoid Safelite at all costs unless you enjoy wasting your time and being treated like your business doesn't matter.

My very first call went smooth, I scheduled an appointment for someone to come out. I was advised he would contact his "glass guy" for an estimate after sending him measurements. Then I was advised in order to get an estimate they needed to take my door to the "glass guy". Another appointment was set on a Thursday, two guys came to take my door. I was told I'd get a call by Monday to tell me what the cost would be if I wanted to give approval for the repair. From that point it was pulling teeth to get updates. I never got a call so it was multiple outbound calls of which most times I was placed on hold & left for 5+ plus minutes, once they answer during the call every few minutes you're constantly placed on hold. Sometimes mid sentence without warning. This is very frustrating when trying to get an understanding of what's going on with your property. After two weeks I was able to get an answer, estimate of $345+tax. I asked for a breakdown including parts, labor & ect. I also asked if possible since my door was sent to the "glass guy" can I just pay for parts as it's such a simple install. I was told "they Do Not deal with the public!" At one point they mentioned the name Shower Doors & More, of course I googled them & called. The person who answered sounded extremely confused by my question "Do you sell to the public?" They replied, "Of course! Why wouldn't we?" I then asked I have a framed shower door and I only need the continuous hinge replaced around how much would that be for the part? I was advised around $150. Woah I thought?! Why did I get a quote stating the part alone would be $345? The next morning I called ***Now here's where things really go south... I was transferred to Melissa who she proudly stated she is the owner's wife. I first ask why is the part cost so high and zero for the labor? She said because that's how much it's costs and that's what you owe us and need to pay us! And because you were already told over the phone $345 we must honor that. It would've been more but we are waving the labor fees since you were told $345 plus tax. Then she says I know that's why you're confused of the two costs from the first email estimate which was much higher. I said I never got another email. She stated yes you did that's why you're confused! I replied ma'am I've only received one email... after some back and forth she admitted "Maybe I didn't send it" I then asked why am I being told Shower Doors and More won't sell to the public? She aggressively responded they don't! Who said they do?! I explained they did when I called them directly. At some point I said "ma'am I'm not trying to come at you, I'm only trying to understand the cost why are you being rude? She then shouted repeatedly "You don't know me!" I explained how I felt I was being taken advantage of and asked if I could simply just deal with Shower Doors and More directly. She shouted No I will not be a middle man, you want your property back you will get it back and she hung up on me. I immediately called Shower Doors and More directly and explained my situation in which I got a personal call from their owner who advised me my shower door had already been repaired about two weeks prior and has been ready for pick up. First off I was upset because how dare Glass Doctor advise them to fix it, it was supposed to be a no obligation estimate so I could decide to repair my framed shower door hinge or upgrade to a frameless shower depending on costs. However the owner from Shower Doors and More was so kind he resolved my issue and I was able to set up pick up and pay them directly. What's the takeaway, the Glass Doctor of Fort Lauderdale will try to force you into a corner to pay for repairs without approval and lie about the ability to work directly with third party companies so they can up charge you for their own profit and gain. Btw to install is 4 screws & my entire shower does not need to be resealed.

The manager, Steve, provided a detailed email with information about all the different packages. I appreciated his helpfulness and no pressure interaction. In addition to the doors and back windows, Steve suggested adding a clear tint to the front windshield, which I didn't realize was a thing, and, wow, it has made a ton the difference! Now getting into the car on a hot day is no problem at all. I can't believe I waited 3 years to get the tinting done! Service was quick, and Steve even offered to attach my dash cam to the front windshield after the 3-day curing was completed. I feel the prices are reasonable and competitive. I'll admit, I was still skeptical! After ordering the new window he came out to my office and replaced the windshield to perfection right there in the parking lot - it took less than 30 minutes.
