My backyard was a mess from my wonderful digging dogs. We have about a quarter of an acre in the backyard, that was uneven and needed to be redone. I put a notice in Home Advisor and they called me back immediately. I met with them on Sunday, and Monday morning they arrive with a wonderful crew to redo my yard. I wanted paths carved in my lawn to enable me to redesign my yard. Everything was done in one day! We used Scott for a complete landscaping job. Over 30k. Majority of what he planted 2 years ago has died. Also , we ordered palm trees and he brought those in and one was already looking dead as a door nail. We had to ask him to replace it and he finally did with another one that is barely alive. First of all , he was the "expert" and one would expect him to know the climate being from this area. Wouldn't you plant things that can tolerate this extreme weather? Second , I can't even believe he bought that dead tree ( we bought it more accurately ) yet alone plant it thinking it's fine. He also maintained our lawns after that point and saw them every week. A toddler could see that it was a dead plant. We moved in from out of state and feel like we were the target of blatantly over charging us for both the landscaping and the lawn maintenance. This was confirmed by many neighbors that couldn't believe how much we were paying for them to cut the lawn . Very disappointing to waste money like that when we trusted him. read more

Where should I start? Scott gave us a better bid than another company for the French drain, and the company who was going to tear up and haul away an old shed that came with the house when we bought it. Awesome. One company to do it all. That makes our lives easier. I was never given a date that our projects would be started. He said maybe Thursday or Friday. Cool. We paid half upfront via credit card. (The other half was due when the jobs were completed) In the meantime, I wanted to pick out rock colors for the walkway, etc. I even showed him pictures of the color scheme I would like. I kept trying to reach Scott regarding rocks and he wouldn't ever respond. I messaged him that Friday and asked when our project was going to be started. He said he was on the way. I had 0 notice of this. He was lucky I was able to stay home so last minute. I still had no idea what rocks he was bringing because he never got back to me on my ideas (I didn't care if my preference was going to cost me more). Scott and a few guys show up. I had no idea they were at my house. Nobody came to the door to let me know. I simply found out when my dogs started barking because people were suddenly in my back yard. I decided to say hello. Not much response so I went back inside. I knew they had a lot to do. Eventually Scott showed me the rocks he brought. Not at all in the color scheme I had shown him or tried to contact him about several times. The stepping stones he brought also were not what I picked out. I was mad at this. It showed how little he cared in what I wanted style-wise. I tried continuously to show him what I wanted and was ignored. At this point I just wanted the projects to be over. Sometime during the destruction and hauling away of the old shed, my gutter drainage stem was damaged and completely crushed. By them. Nothing was ever said to us. They ignored the fact that they destroyed it, and now we have to be the ones to fix it! This was just another issue I had. Also in the removal of the shed and the platform it sat on, one of the concrete footings was just left in the ground instead of being removed like the others. Great. Yet another project we have to do at some point on our own time (though we paid for this to be done by them). They grounded 3 stumps down. Great. Too bad they had forgotten to bring their stump grinder and cost us hours of time that could have been avoided had they been prepared (again, this stump removal/grinding was in the pre-negotiated contract). Not being prepared is irritating on top of all other issues. The French drain was put in. As was the rock walkway in colors I never agreed to or ever wanted to begin with. Again. Had he listened to anything I had wanted, this wouldn't have been an issue whatsoever. Scott came to my door at some point in the afternoon and asked for us to pay cash the other half so he could pay his guys. That was not what we agreed to. We were paying via credit card for the entirety of the job. This was discussed upon contract signing. He asked for a check instead of cash. I again told him no, that would be the same as paying cash. This caught me off guard and just was another part of unprofessionalism being displayed. The day ran long, so they were going to have to come back the next day, a Saturday that we had my nephew's party to go to in the afternoon. He told us he would be back in the late morning. Saturday came and we hadn't heard anything from Scott. I took it upon myself to call him when it was after noon. He didn't even know who I was when I called (figures at this point). When I cleared that up he said that he told us yesterday that he'd be at our house after noon (that is NOT what we were told). He sounded irritated, which just pissed me off more. He eventually showed up, this time by himself. Whatever. Shortly after, we had to leave for the party. He had to finish while we were gone, which I wasn't necessarily comfortable with, but whatever. Had he been on time, this wouldn't have been an issue. Drain seems to be working okay so far. Shed was torn down (though that job wasn't necessarily fully completed and thyroid damaged our gutter drainage when doing so). I NEVER was given a lemon tree quote (after asking continuously for one). So I never even got the lemon tree I wanted. The rock walkway was subpar. It is all uneven and the step stones are uneven as well. They aren't in the colors I wanted or requested or SHOWED him that I wanted. Scott made his company seem unprofessional and that they don't care about what you actually want as a customer. He also came off as misogynistic. He'd only competently speak with my husband, and ignore me 99% of the time. I'm glad the job was mostly completed, but I am not satisfied with what was done in the end. read more

This business is in my neighborhood on plum Grove road and they do anything but work, the two skinny guys today Sat around on the trailer for the tractor most of the day while the bigger shorter guy worked all day, until the guy on the tractor yelled at him and told him to leave and he had to find a ride home. The man on the tractor kept taking what looked like naps in different areas. I would not suggest hiring this people. read more

After a couple bids on our lawn, not only did Scott outbid the others, he also offered more services in his bid. He was a pleasure to work with. He provided great work and attention to detail. They did a reasonably good job however they would miss entire areas with their weed whacker, ran their riding lawnmower through our garden and worst was damaging our fence twice without saying anything to us. When we confronted them, they promised to repair the fence but never did. We gave them the benefit of the doubt for two months, then pulled the plug on using them. I won't give my hard-earned money to people who don't respect their customers' property and who don't stand by their word. read more
