This shops stocks everything from a 6 inch nail (and many other sizes too) to baking wear, household gifts like china and cutlery canteens to wood varnish and sandpaper. There is also a range of outdoor clothing and equipment on the first floor. To be honest there is not a lot I go into Frank Thomsons for that I don't find. In fact I quite often find a lot more. The products themselves are well made and the range is extensive, who knew there were quite so many things one needed for the kitchen. Joking apart I have bought quite a few very useful products here and actually like some of their biscuits and sweets to give as gifts. The prices are reasonable for what you are getting. You could probably get the items cheaper elsewhere but not with the same quality.

They have a great home department at the back of the store. great bargains can be had here with a lot of items at knock down prices - i purchased a very good quality duvet which was priced by the manufacturer on the packaging at £50. this price i paid was only £25 so well worht the trip. they also have mens, ladies and childrens clothing sections with a huge choice in each section. i would best describe matalan as somewhere that you need to visit and spend time loooking for the bargains as they also sell a lot of items that are not that well made or worht their price. Yes, this place has it all, and is moulded and sold to the public under the impression of an old market (all be it one in a multi storey building!). Over the years I have always seen the market full of people buzzing about trying to find a bargain. It's good for what it is, but it really is a relic of an old age. How this place survives with the number of supermarkets and large DIY stores in the area astounds me!

There are stalls selling computer equipment, curtains and fabrics, mobile phone accessories, car accessories and there is even a photographer within the market who has a little unit offering great value photographs. As well as all that there is a very good cafe situated right in the centre of the market which as well as offering great food also now has internet access for you to use too. A must if you are shopping in Kirkcaldy but still not as good as it once was!

They sell LPs, CDs, DVDs, books, bric-a-brac, childrens clothing, toys, ladies and gents clothing, shoes, boots, scarves, hats, christmas cards and wrapping. A bonus for this store is the changing room. Outside the store is ample parking, so if you are dropping off a donation, you don't have to walk too far !
