After a long time, I've finally decided to write this review. I got my first cat here. I had not…read moredone enough research. I visited them and didn't think enough. But recently it struck me, this is a kitty mill. Our cat Scottie is very cute, very beautiful, but she's not perfect; her nose is too short so there's some issue with her tear duct. She's always in tear and there's always some stain under one of her eyes. When we first got her, they gave a little bottle of eye drops and told us our cat has a mild infection, the drop would clear that. Nope. This tear duct thing is for life, though minor. Scottie also came to us with parasites and fleas. How could she have been infected? I suppose the adult cats were not well taken care of, and for that matter, I have to say that the cat smell was very strong as soon as the house door was open. Litter dust was everywhere, probably just except for the "nursery". After getting Scottie, I continued to look at their website on and off. They always have many cats available. Too many. And the birth dates indicate that there are just many litters in a short span of time. All the time. How could this be? Do they not care about the mother cats, just keep making them mate? Or do they buy cats from elsewhere and pretend they have bred them? The breeder who I got my dog from only had 2 litters over the last 1.5 years, this cat breeder had so many I lost count. The dog breeder wanted to make sure the dog would be well taken care of and leave when it is the right time, she wouldn't give the pup to us until after the pup was 3 months and she checked in on us twice. This cat breeder wanted us to take the cat the same day we saw her, told us the kitten could go with us at 2 months and never initiated contact once we paid and picked up the kitten. There are a lot of cute kittens for adoption. We adored our second cat. And I pledge to never buy another cat. Even if you really want a specific breed, please look for a breeder that at least seems ethical.

It took me a long time to decide to write this review. I decided to wait to write this review…read morebecause I want to be as objective as I can, so that I can tell everyone what happened to me, what I went through with Val and hopefully this can help you guys make a more informed decision . I got mine scottish fold Teddy from Val in 2018. Its true Val was very sweet, nice and responsive until I had some healthy issue with the kitten. The day I took the cat home I found out it was infested with fleas. (which confirms what other reviewers were saying, and it does make me think too this might be a kitten mill ). I contacted her and she assured me there s nothing wrong with all her other cats and all the other buyers had not mentioned such (which reading from other reviews it's something she also says often to get out of a situation). Less than a year later my cat was diagnosed with a CONGENITAL heart defect, and dispute all efforts it passed away just a littler over one year old. Our hearts were broken and with a heavy heart I reached out to Val hoping to warn her about potential similar health issues happening to Teddy' siblings. Initially she responded and asked me to forward her all the medical records. As I did in December 2019 she said due to the holidays she was not able to look at them. I contacted her again multiple times in 07/2020 she never bothered to reply. When she finally did, she said her vet quit and she has no vet right now to proceed with the matter. So in my opinion, if you are ok with paying $1500 - $2000 for a kitten with no health guarantee if anything were to happen because of breeding or genetic problems then Val is your person. If you are lucky to get a healthy kitten then you will have a great experience just like all the people who have their positive reviews here. I m sure it would be a different story if they got a sick kitten instead. Whilst I understands that pets get sick and dies, but when it comes to something that's CONGENITAL, that happened within a year after I got him, I think any reputable breeder would be quick in action to resolve and make the difficult situation a bit more easy for the owner, unfortunately Val is not one.

We found Cozy Cats around 2017 online. We were only testing the waters for adding a kitten to our…read morefamily at that time. She responded quick and prompt from the beginning till the end. After about a year or so of our family deciding to add another family member or not. We were in New York and contacted Cozy Cats, we were able to meet with her and a couple scottish fold kittens she had available. She answered every single question we had while she shared a lot of knowledge (even after hours and hours of research I did not know) about the scottish fold breed. When we left that meeting I had no doubt Cozy Cats is where I was going to get my kitten from. About 2 months later she had another litter of kittens. We picked our kitten from the litter, 2-1/2 months later I was picking up my baby at the airport. Felix (my kitten) is now 4 months old, he just finished his 3rd vet appointment, getting his final check up and vaccines. Besides every nurse and vet in the office freaking out about how cute he was, he is 100% healthy with ZERO deformities. He is the most loving cat I have ever been around and besides him nudging me awake every morning at 5am, he is one of the best additions you can add to a house hold! Cozy Cats is clearly breeding the proper way. She also handles the business side of things extremely professional and if we ever decided to get another kitten, we will be going straight to Cozy Cats.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!This "breeder" is not to be trusted! I have purchased a Kitten from Hasiya who is…read morejust 9 months old at this time.... She get her kittens from Russia and she doesn't honour health guarantees or her sales contracts! 1) We paid $100 for a vet health record that we never received, we received a Russian vet record that was used to export 3 kittens from Russia to New York. My cat was not seen by a vet in New York. The vaccinations records she gave us were all in Russian, and stamped with fake stamps in Russian with a phone number that lead to a fake internet vet page. We are not even sure that our kitten was ever vaccinated. 2) When our kitten arrived he was extremely small (1.8lbs) at the stated age of 12 weeks (He clearly wasn't 12 weeks). He was taken to the vet within 24hrs of receiving him. He was diagnosed with a viral URI that required a month long course of antibiotics to clear and he had fleas. 3) He only started to lose his teeth at "6 months" of age, we believe this is because our kitten was not actually 6 months old, as all the information we were given is false and forged. 4) He was diagnosed to be unilaterally cryptorchid, meaning only one of his testicles dropped and the other had to be surgically removed from deep in his abdomen. This is a genetic abnormality, something detectable at 2-3 months of age. Hasiya states her cats are vet checked, they would have caught this and the URI and fleas if it had been done. 5) From the time we got our kitten he made gagging and choking noises in his throat. He snored loud, we chalked it up to being a little kitten and getting over his URI. We took him to the vet when he started going lame, not eating and sleeping 22+hrs a day. 3 vets, 2 of which are vet specialists diagnosed our kitten to having brachycephalic syndrome. He has extremely stenotic nares that cause wheezing 100% of the time and an elongated soft palate which is producing the gagging and choking when he is being active or eating. Brachycephalic syndrome is a risk to all short nose cats and dogs, ethical and careful breeding of these breeds that are at risk for this genetic disorder should be carefully monitored for. It is 100% genetic, and it is not normal for a cat or dog, as it needs to be surgically corrected in order for the animal to survive. Hasiya states that my cats parents were one a scottish fold and the other a scottish straight ear. In order to have genetically clean kittens you must breed a scottish fold with a british short hair, this "breeder" does not do this. 6) At the same time our kitten was diagnosed with Brachycephalic syndrome he was also diagnosed with malocclusion of his jaw causing his upper right molar to dig into his lower mandible creating ulceration and inflammation of his lower gums. This also diagnosed by a vet dental specialist is a genetic disorder in poorly bred cats and dogs. This information has been 100% verified by 3 veterinarians in dental and internal medicine specialities. As of the time of this review, Hasiya of CozyCatsNY has not honoured her health guarantee, has no refunded us any of the money we paid or reimbursed for vet bills. Our kitten at 9 months requires a life saving surgery to breath and eat normally. Hasiya has not taken any responsibility for honouring her cat sales contract. Has made false claims that her vet instructed her that my vet's diagnosis are false and that she is not responsible for refunding any money. Her vet has never treated my kitten, and cannot make a diagnosis without inspecting my kitten for themselves, to make a diagnosis without seeing a kitten would be against the law. Do not buy a kitten from this individual. ** There are a couple of individuals on this yelp page with positive reviews who have direct ties with this breeder with plans to breed cats they purchased from this seller as well (https://www.facebook.com/houseofscottishfolds/). Their reviews of their cats that are healthy may be legitimate, however it still remains a fact that there are many others who have purchased kittens from this breeder that are chronically ill, or have died from FIP, congenital heart defects, have eosinophilic granuloma, as well as many who arrive with URI, fleas, and giardia. I have seen these accounts on many complaint pages and spoken directly with these individuals and in each case the seller has failed to honour her health contracts and neglects to communicate respectfully and honestly with her clients. None of these individuals nor myself have profited in any way from these reviews or factual information that is being shared for others researching scottish fold breeders.
