I saw John Scott a few years ago. He is an ENT doctor, however wrote in my chart that I'd had a double mastectomy and that I use prosthetics. I have never had any kind of mastectomy, so I certainly don't use prosthetics. read more

Our experience with the Optum ENT team, Dr Scott and the hospital lacked professionalism, care and consideration. After 4 years of our advocacy for tonsillectomy, the Optum ENT team ordered a sleep study - which exposed the severity of our son's sleep apnea and urgent need for tonsil and adenoid removal. (AHI of 42) We scheduled surgery 6 weeks in advance, and made all necessary plans - we changed work schedules, childcare schedules, travel plans, took vacation days to care for him etc. Though they had six weeks notice, the surgical team did not bother to review our son's chart. Though he desperately needs this procedure, Dr. Scott called to cancel 12 hours before we were scheduled to arrive at the hospital because the surgical team would not operate due to the risk profile and post operative needs. This is concerning: - a PICU is recommended for cases this severe but wasn't mentioned to us in this process - the surgical team did not review the case in advance of the procedure until the day before. When the procedure was cancelled at teh 11th hour, we were not given a referral or resources to help resolve the issue. When we asked for a CPAP Rx to help so he didn't continue to struggle while we tried to figure out what hospital and doctor would be qualified to help, we were told his pediatrician would handle. When we called his pediatrician (who is attentive, invested and responsive) he said that he does not manage CPAP Rx. We were left with a child that could not breathe at night, and an ENT who would not help us alleviate that issue. Ultimately, our 10 year old has gone years chronically under-slept and struggling due to the professional opinions of Optum ENTS. When the severity of his case was realized, we were left high and dry just hours before his procedure with no recommendations or resources to improve his situation. Competency and personal commitment are tenants of the hippocratic oath, that we were not given. read more

I wouldn't wish this doctor on my worst enemy. Rude, arrogant, nasty. He treated my elderly, ill mother like garbage. RUN don't walk to someone else. Shame on him. The last thing a sick person wants is a smug, contemptuous, unfeeling jerk performing a painful procedure. How his sweet PA can work for a horror like that, I can't understand. read more

I had a terrible experience there. Dr. Scott misdiagnosed me. He's very arrogant. I finally went to an ENT in Valhalla who is amazing!

I chose Dr Scott based off the recommendation of a friend who works in the OR and says he is a top-notch surgeon. Before the operation my nose was badly deviated due to past trauma with the left nostril partially occluded. I had breathing difficulty as well as being upset with its appearance which was kind of twisted, since the trauma. The surgery to correct this required re-breaking the nose and reducing the turbinates. In all the operation took about an hour and I was in nose splints for about a week, but the result was great. I have my pre-injury nose back, it is straight as an arrow with nice symmetry of the nostrils. It's good to look in the mirror and see my old self again. And of course my airways are unclogged. He did a very very good job. The only negative thing I have to say about my experience concerns the ambulatory center. Post-op I was in a massive amount of pain (e.g. like a 9 on 10 scale) and demanded some more pain killer. The anesthesiologist gave me an extra dose of fentanyl, that only brought my pain down to a 7. I was pleading for more pain killer, but they did not oblige me immediately, the nurse saying there was a risk I could stop breathing if I received too much. I told her that was the biggest load of crap I ever heard and demanded some more pain killer. Finally, they gave me some liquid codein or something similar that took my pain down to about a 5. Still, I made haste to get the bleep out of there so I could take additional pills of my prescription codeine. For that reason, I'd recommend getting this done at the hospital, but then again the trade-off there is that the ambulatory center is much faster and efficient. read more

Dr. Scott was rude, arrogant, and inpatient with me. At first I thought he was having a bad day. But onto subsequent visits I did not notice a change. Condescending and short with answers, to the point that I felt like he was withholding information, is not what I want from a doctor. I definitely sensed he was anxious to get out the door into his next patient. I got the feeling I was a cog in a big medical machine. It seems that the priority was to see as many patients as possible in the shortest amount of time. I wished I had chosen a doctor that would have at least spend the proper amount of time during the consultation visit. Then I can see follow-up visits being a bit shorter. Coincidentally, my neighbor had the same experience. That was enough for me to find someone better.I am much happier with my new doctor. Wished I had found her to begin with. read more

The Glen A review is obviously a fake, probably written by the doctor or someone from his staff. First of all, the patient is from California. Who travels from the West Coast to the East Coast for a Doctor? Is there a shortage of plastic surgeons in California? Secondly, what layperson uses medical terms or words like "occluded" and "turbinates" while writing a review about a doctor? This review was obviously a fake written by a manipulative doctor who practices predatory medicine for the sake of the bottom-line. That was my experience anyway. Either that or the "patient" was obviously discounted on his medical bill in return for a favorable review. The second paragraph about the a anesthesiologist was added to add some credibility to the review. This transparent fake review was obviously written to counter past real negative reviews for which the doctor should take responsibility for. Check other websites about this horrible doctor carefully before you decide to go to him. Also, check the Westchester County Clerk's office to ascertain how many medical malpractice lawsuits have been filed against him. Good luck! read more
