I spoke to Melanie, Optometric Assistant, who helped me schedule the appointment and found the time that worked best. The exam itself was as thorough as I've ever experienced. Specifically because the prescription was obtained for function AND comfort. As anyone who wears glasses knows, having one and not the other doesn't help. Doctor Zeigler knocked this out of the park and I am exceedingly grateful.

This review has two parts…read more One: I think Dr. Bearden is a great optometrist. The exam I had was for both contacts and glasses and it was one of the most thorough exams I have had. She is very easy to talk to, and my last eye doctor barely said much, so I appreciated how comfortable she made me feel. The drawback was how dilated my pupils stayed - I honestly found it difficult to do much the rest of the day so definitely plan accordingly. (Honestly, Uber or have someone drive you back home because it won't be safe to drive on your own). For years I have avoided glasses because my eyesight is so terrible that I end up with near coke bottle glasses, but Dr. Bearden recommended the thinner high index lenses, which I went with. I also was getting contacts, and even though I had the twice a week kind, in all truth sometimes I would go longer without changing them out. Part two: So, Dr. Bearden ended up switching me to daily contacts. I've been using the for a few months but haven't noticed a significant difference in how my eyes feel. As for glasses, the selection of frames seemed OK but in hindsight are limited to what I was looking for. But I still went with a pair. When I did pick up my glasses I was a bit bummed that the lenses were still thicker than I hoped and I wasn't 100% happy. The cost for the exam, eyeglasses and several months of contacts was no joke. Thankfully I had vision insurance but it was still well over $700 total. One of the other things that rubbed me the wrong way was that during my initial visit a customer came in asking for their RX and she gave them a speech and disclaimer about buying elsewhere/online. But here's the thing, according to the FTC there are laws in which you are supposed to get your RX for both your eyeglasses and contacts after your exam or fitting with no questions asked. Ironically, during my visit I did not get my prescriptions and later had to go back to get them. As for my glasses, I ended up buying another pair for a fraction of the price from Zenni Optical (an online retailer) and was super happy with them because they had the thinest lenses available plus tons of styles. Overall, I'd say this is great place for an exam but go elsewhere for ordering your contacts and glasses.

I visited Dr Haiman and his team about a month ago to treat an eye infection. He was very thorough…read morein his examination. He took the time to explain everything to me. I felt very comfortable. My eye got better quickly. I've been to a few different eye doctors the last few years and Dr Haiman by far is the best. He takes time to listen and then try to find a solution. Cristina one of the technicians was my first contact with the office. She made me feel confident about seeing Dr Haiman to heal my eye infection. All of the technicians are very nice. I came in and the staff took my information and had me sit and wait for my exam. It was a very short wait and I was brought back to the see the doctor. I have been wearing glasses since I was 12 years old, so I've had a lot of eye exams. Never mind how many. This one was probably the most thorough I have ever had. Dr. Holifield really did an incredible job of checking out my vision and my eyes in general. He also recommended some eye drops for me, and his staff managed to get a prescription that was normally over $800 for free. Great job! I picked out my new glasses (you can see them in the photo), and while they are not the exact frames I wanted, they'll do. It was a bit pricey, but I have vision insurance so that covered part of it. When I got home I had a notice in the mail that my employer had changed to a new vision insurance carrier. I immediately called the office to apologize and give them the new information, only to find that they had already found it and had billed the correct insurance. That is truly excellent customer service. They told me it would take up to two weeks for the new glasses, which was fine, but it turns out, they were ready in six days. I picked them up and I'm wearing them right now. And I can see, so I guess the visit was a success. And I have a new eye doctor.

Appointments are available at times that are convenient for me, and I never have a long wait to see the doctor. The staff I've interacted with have consistently been helpful and kind, which I truly appreciate. Dr. Holifield is patient and caring, and I will continue to return for my yearly checkups. I wear contact lenses and have been happy with the same brand for many years. While Dr. Holifield may occasionally suggest trying a new brand--and I'm open to giving them a try--there's never any pressure. I'm always supported in sticking with what works best for me. Met with the store rep Juan who was very professional and explained that the optometrist is at another location today but works in-store Mon, Thurs and Sat. My vision insurance covers most optometrist consults and exams in addition to a big portion of the frames and lenses. Juan showed me several sunglasses including Oakley for $250.00 before insurance. Ray-Ban would be a close second to Oakley. The store is very classy with dark wood finishes and glass. A few low tables for sitting with the rep for comfortable discussions and glasses fittings.

Dr. Guario is the BEST optometrist I have ever worked with…read more He is very friendly and thorough, and his work and dedication gave me a new lease on life. When I think about the vision I had before he worked with me compared to now, I am supremely thankful! His office staff is top notch! He does talk a lot, but he is invested in his patients. If you'd prefer that he be quieter, just let him know. We have had some great conversations and he has gotten me out of quite a few jams when I've had issues with my contacts. He strives for perfection in every consultation. I personally don't ever want to work with another doctor. He is the best and I am very grateful.
