I was a patient here for less than a year. My first visit included no exam, no x-rays, and a quick 20 minute cleaning. I should've seen the red flags then, but it had been a long time since I'd had a new dentist so I wasn't alarmed by this at the time. During this visit it was told me that 2 of my fillings needed to be repaired and appointments were made. I didn't think twice about this, as I trust a dentist to know what they're talking about. So, even though I had no discomfort in my teeth, I went along with it. After the appointment to get my first filling repaired, I began getting severe headaches, and I called the office to ask if the two events could be related. The pain was intense, and they got me in a few days later to examine the filling and to shave it down. The Dr. Told me that it was highly unlikely that the headaches were related to the filling appointment, so again I trusted the input and began exploring other reasons for the pain.
Over the course of 3 weeks, I had 2 visits to the ER for pain management, countless visits to my primary care physician, an MRI, and a CT scan. Nothing was found and nothing was resolved. I missed work, sleep, and my daily life was put on hold.
I decided to get a second opinion from the other dentist in the same office and was basically told that it was again highly unlikely that the pain was related to the dental work. I felt extremely frustrated and unheard, so I trusted my gut and canceled the appointment for the second filling and sought out a new dentist.
This new doctor informed me that based on the pain I described (by this time it had been nearly 6 weeks of constant pain) he believed that the pain was in fact due to my jaw muscles being held open for an extended period of time while the filling was repaired. He said that this was actually extremely common and that the pain should subside after a time once the muscles have recovered. Not only this, during my first visit I received a full dental exam, X-rays and was confident that I made the right decision in seeking a 3rd opinion. I felt heard and taken seriously for the first time, and the entire office of my new dentist was concerned for me and offered their support. He also informed me that the second filling was in no way in need of repair, and that the first one was likely unnecessary as well.
Since then, the pain has indeed subsided, and I've been able to get my life back and am no longer reliant on pain medication.
I am writing this review and sharing my experience in hopes that it will help someone make an informed decision about this Dr.'s office. I was failed by both Dr.'s here and am now over $3000 in medical debt because of their dismissal of my pain. And the filling repairs they claimed were necessary were likely just a money grab.
