I cannot express how grateful I am to come across Dr. Ellis. I am new in town, and starting over and building a new network of EXCELLENT dentists, doctors, etc. can be a challenge. But I've found my dental wingman. His office fit me in before the end of the year so that I could take advantage of unused dental benefits. Dr. Ellis fixed two problematic crowns and took the time to create one of the crowns twice until he got a perfect fit. He was very concerned about the quality and fit of everything he did, and he was also very gentle. I didn't feel a thing when he administered the shots! His front and back office staff were all professional and friendly. His facility is modern, clean, and equipped with all the latest state-of-the-art equipment. This person ruined my teeth. He was unable to properly put a filling on a single tooth in my mouth. After the filling fell three times within a month the tooth had to be extracted as the hole he drilled became bigger and bigger.This was a front incisor lower tooth most visible gap opened up resulting in irreversible damage.Beware of positive fake reviews. Best dentist I have ever had! The Ellis Dentistry office in St. George is amazing. I broke a tooth and called their office. They scheduled me in the same day at 1 PM. By 3 PM I walked out with a new crown. State of the art technology used to digitally scan the tooth, and build a new one right in their office. Not a temporary cap, but the finished product. Update: The dentist's office called and apologized for the experience I had. They said they found the check today, Nov 9th, the check was dated Sept. 15th. The insurance originally said it had been cashed. But my insurance called today and told me it actually hadn't been cashed. I've never had to work so hard to give someone money. The customer service here is abysmal. I had a cleaning on Aug 30th and had a filling done on Sept 7th and they were mediocre at best. The dentist did something that made the filling more expensive but didn't explain what it was or why it was necessary. Before the filling I was told I would probably owe $10. Afterwards, I was told I would owe around $28 and ultimately it cost $42 after insurance. I never received a bill for the cleaning or filling. I called Ellis Dentistry on Oct 10th (over a month after both services) and asked what I owed, I was told I owed $59 for the cleaning but my insurance told me I owed $30. I was worried about being charged interest but was assured that it wouldn't be an issue. The person I talked to said they would have the insurance coordinator call me that day but I never received a call. I called my insurance and they confirmed that I only owed $30, they called the dentist with me on the line and the front desk person said they would get the insurance coordinator. The insurance rep and I sat on hold for 20 minutes but the insurance coordinator never answered. I tried again the next day, I called twice the morning of Oct 11th - no answer. I called two more times in the afternoon - no answer. I called one last time that afternoon and the insurance coordinator finally answered. She confirmed that I only owed $30 for the cleaning. She told me they hadn't received payment for the filling yet, and that I would owe around $28 for the filling. She also confirmed that I wouldn't owe interest if I waited and paid for everything together once the insurance payment was received. Three weeks went by, still no bill. I called on Oct 31st and spoke with the insurance coordinator again and she said they still hadn't received payment from the insurance. She said it could take up to 60 days to receive payment but she didn't bother to double check if the payment had actually been received. After being told twice that I wouldn't have to pay interest I received a bill on Nov 5th with interest charges and the full amount for the filling ($281). I called my insurance on Nov 7th and they told me they had sent a check on Sept 15th. Since the dentist's office didn't seem to be able to find record of the payment I took time off work to hand deliver an EOB to them. At the office, the insurance coordinator told me she couldn't zero out my account and that the office manager would have to do it the next day. I paid my portion and she printed out an account statement and wrote a note on it clarifying that insurance would take care of the balance. After she handed it to me I pointed out that it had the wrong amount on it and she admitted that she had given me someone else's account record, which seemed inappropriate. After she printed the correct statement, I ended up going back to the office twice before leaving the building to resolve other errors. After I received the zeroed out account statement the next day they thanked me for my patience while they "worked" with my insurance company, but they didn't work with my insurance company, I worked with my insurance company, and got my insurance company to call them, twice. Even though they removed the interest on the bill, the amount of time and energy wasted on this was ridiculous. Again, I've never had to work so hard to give someone money. read more

Great an personal dentist. Beautiful office and good staff. What more can be said-- oh I thought it was very professional an they cared! The equipment was sterile an everything could be done in one office! Very impressive equipment ( state of the art). Dr. Ellis and his lovely assistant saw me as an emergency with a chipped tooth. They worked me in the same day, and to my surprise and delight, Dr. Ellis was able to make a lovely-looking, permanent crown right then and there! Dr. Ellis knocked it out of the park with kindness and joy while he and his family were packed and ready to drive on a trip to Cali. I broke a crown at 8am and reached out to Dr. Ellis. He stopped and met me at his office before he left at 10a on a Sat!!!! His chair side manner was so comforting and he did the repair with no assistants. He probably hasn't done that in a long time. Dr. Ellis is a great dentist! I was able to get in quickly for a chipped tooth. Staff was very friendly. Dentist was gentle and quick. Wasn't overcharged for the type of appointment I had. I haven't been to the dentist in a few years because I've had not so great experiences with dentists. I am very happy with this dentist and I am scheduled to get my cleaning done in a few days. Scott is my favorite dentist, EVER! He took the time to fix what other my dentist couldn't figure out. I was in pain for so long, and Dr Ellis saw me right away, and fixed the problem. I am so impressed with Dr Ellis. His attention to detail is amazing. I had a tooth that I had fixed by a previous dentist and I was never happy with the results. I went to Dr Ellis and he fixed it and you would never be able to tell my front tooth had been previously chipped. I was interested in some cosmetic work and got an estimate from his office after seeing how amazing he made my front tooth look. He personally reached out and told me he didn't think I needed all the things I was asking about done and customized a plan to cosmetically enhance my teeth which will be less invasive and less cost. Being new to St George I needed a dentist to do the normal cleaning of my teeth. The problem started right after the appointment. The issues that I had, bleeding when I brushed my teeth and flossed was worse after my cleaning than before. I thought it would get better with time but it did not. But that was not the half of it. They had done a deep cleaning, root plaining, and of course they said it would cost more. Because I was on Medicare I paid it not knowing that it was covered. My wife had also gone to him with no problems with her teeth after. The extra amount they wanted for the deep cleaning I paid. Several months later received another bill saying I owed more money, I called Regents BC/BS and they said, bottom line that They should not have charged me the amount. When I asked for the money back they said that they were holding it for a bill that my wife owed, they had combined the two accounts. The Medicare rep said that was not legal. The rep helped me fix it but because of the hoops I had to go thru to get it fixed I would not recommend them. read more

Dr Ellis is fast, but he is also very relaxed and has a great personality. He and his staff have treated myself, my wife, and our 3 young kids many times.
