When a complete stranger on yelp responds to your message within 24 hours ( thank you S.S.) but your farrier never responds to your message from a week ago. My horse is 24 years old with severe high ringbone. His front feet are growing out long in the toe and uneven, this week he was totally lame, heartbreaking. Reached out to Scott again to let him know he was literally holding his front left foot up and still no reply. Found out later he was at our barn both Sunday and Monday AFTER my having left a message on Friday. Incredibly frustrating. Business must be good, but I won't be doing business with him anymore.
UPDATE:
Wanted to update after Destry's new farrier fixed him up:
He had on size two shoes on his front feet which explains why his toe seemed so long. He wears a size 0. Also the pad on the front left did not cover the entire sole, there was a half inch gap between the shoe and the pad.
I'm confused why a horse with severe high ringbone would be left with larger shoe and longer toe which increased the break over rather than decrease it.
Anyway, he's done, still a little sore which will hopefully improve over the next few days. Tim will come back in five weeks and I'm grateful to be done with Scott. What a mess he left my boy with. read more
